Space + People = Place Space is important in an architecture. It shapes many masterpieces and give a great Experience for people. But, I strongly believe that space isn’t enough anymore for future. Space that engaged community is called PLACE. This is the core concept that I practicing throughout my BArch in University Malaya. Place is where a space is not just function as giving people to experience, but it let them use, let them shade, let them shelter, let them secure, and let them communicate with each other. It make the space become alive and not just the nice looking ‘monument’ space. To me , Architecture is not just about science and art, is about the community and lifestyle. This portfolio summarised my reflection in the field of architecture, first years at University of Malaya, Malaysia. It glimps over the past 3 years. This portfolio comprises the process of my enlighten and challenge that I keep promoting to create architecture, to experience architecture based on empiricism.

T3 TECHNOLOGY INCUBATOR 2017, JALAN DUKE, JOHOR BAHRU, JOHOR
T3 is an organisation that help to accelerate small medium enterprise in global that related to technology. The aim of the incubator is to support and fund those idea that using techonology to improve environment, reduce global environmental issue. T3 also work as a plateform or bridges from the founder to the local communities. We enhance and share knowladge to each other.

DESIGN IDEA
ISSUE
Idea of flexible and is used as the main idea to design a space that share with activities. It also tackle the problem and uncertainty of future and allow the changes due to time. Flexiblity is apply to whole building as one of the stratergies of sustainablitiy.
The gentrification of JBCC make JB old town become less economics opputunities . Youth now no longer stay in JB old town but they move into bigger city such as Singapore and etc. However some old town shop that remain there is getting expeled by the era since the digital revolution had started. On the other hand, world is concern about environment issue where sustainable is no longer enough to make better environment. The issue of Deforesation and global warming is cause by the need of energy in daily life. Technology is used to destroyed environment more than preserved of improved. Hence, the mission of the incubator not only provided the place for youth to accelerate the idea of technology to improve environment but also act as a plateform of locals and technologies.
CONCEPT SHARING Is a place where boundaries bewtween technology and environment are blured by sharing knowladge between locals and professionist, idea between skills.

landmark nearby are high commercial shopping mall which gentrified the JB old town and make the community hard to maintain the old shoplot economics
There are some green node within 1000m around our site but the distance is too far for the communities of JB old town.
Our site is has a biggest economics opportunities due to several projects around JB -NUSAJAYA -FOREST CITY DEVELOPMENT -Bullet train from China to Singapore -Singapore -Cargo port at Pasir Gudang
FUNCTIONAL BOX The design start with putting a box into the site and being setback align with the shoplot and UTC oppesite.

COURTYARD The courtyard is been carved out to maximised sinunlight and the floor plate is reduce to increase ventilation.
DIVERSE Block that facing Jalan Ungku Puan is taken out to let high concentrate pedestrian diverse into the building.
NODE The building is stilled up to give back the ground floor to community activities.Park is created to celebrate the community and become another green node.
CORRIDOR To advoid direct glare from west and east sunlight, the space is offset in and creating corridor to block the direct glare and it gives reflected daylight to space inside.

Incubator is a co- working space that let founder to work and discuss with tutor while workshop is place for them to craft the idea.
The seminar is needed to give knowladge input for founder. Is about lecture how to manage and expand the entreprise.
Incubator is located at the central of the space, opening toward south and north daylight and advoid glare and heat from east and west
The space needs a large and multifunction space that could suit two small seminar or one big seminar or presentation.

DINNER \ SHOWCASE GALLERY Dinner is an event held to improve bonding between each other and showcase gallery is where founder showcase their product. Ground floor multipurpose is an open space where the nature around is been borrow into the space

Showcase is the biggest event for founder where they present their idea and product and company for public and ready for feedback.
Demo day is the day where founder are need to present infront of entrepenur and demostrate it to get fundingfor startup company
The space is all used both multipurpose and cross function space. Ground floor multipurpose is for bigger product.
Due to different type of technology producy, the space required is different. Softwate and IT are in indoor while the bigger machine and AI are at outdoor open multifunction space.

It also act as green node for the JB old town where people can spend timethere. A triangle water pond is placed at the middle, cutting the path into two and allow people see the nice perspective of building while approching.

At the park under the llibrary , kids can bring their toys down and play around the building. Kids will saw toys all above their head when they look up.

When heaven is full of toys, dolls are like clouds surrounding you, cars and robots are with you and ready for your commands to attack monster, swords and shields are your weapon to defend your own fortress, get your teamate and start the adventure. Be brave, be confident, the force is always be with you.

“DONT CHOOSE TOYS FOR KIDS, LET THEM CHOOSE WHAT THEY LIKE”
Toy librery is located at the elevated floor like a castle on the cloud. Kids can get their toys and play wherever they want and they can run and jump anywhere they like .

STORY OF SITE The site is surrounded by old shoptlot where and been seperated with big, wide, heavy traffic road. KIds have no more place and green garden to play, so they turn into playing toys at own house. Since toys are not fun playing alone, so they start to play digital game, such as Ipad or Iphone. Slowly, they lose their very pure imagination about this world . The idea of Toy Library in this site is to save this situation. Imagine every kids is boring playing toys in their own house alone. how about there is a place let them share their toys and can play by each other ? So they start to gather the toys together and build their own playground.
CONCEPT Create is the core concept for the library. Kids are going to build and create their own adventure using the toys.

Toy box is located at the corner junction of Jalan Trus and Jalan Dhoby and slightly higher than street.
It raise above the ground and invite community flow into the site as well as the ventilation.
The centre of the building is been void out to create a central sky light . Since the toy box is transparent, the silhouettes will formed on the ground to create curiosity .
In stead of typical shelving to store toys, how about a platform where toys are store in toy box and kids are easily reached.
The light chamber is placed on top to bring the chimney effect for the building and also solar distributor that collect sunlight and distribute to every part of building as sustainable feature.

“ Imagination is what adult lack of”
Designing a space or a building for kids really need imagination. This toy library is imagination of kids playing in a different dimension of world where have heaven, underground and jungle.

MUSIC IN THE PARK
2016, TAMAN TUN DR ISMAIL, PETALING JAYA The project is a music school where located in the hectic and boring city. The concept is Breath where creating a park for the urban around the context. Lifted the school above the ground and hide into the trees. You will hear some music while resting in the park.

THE ALLY BOOKSHOP CAFFE

Creating an ally as the memory of the locals about the ally local foods stall. A strong axis is cutting through the cafe and become the void that welcoming local to go into the cafe.

Let the tree become the timeline of history, is the concept of this project. Tree is where the mah meri people believe where the spirit would stay. By remaing the old tree, the building is build surround it and let all the space celebrate the tree. A long corridor is surrounded the central space like two wings and the community activity is happening inside the wings.

Is a house for a kung fu master who do not want people to visit his house. These house is full of challenge and obstacle where is designed only a master of kung fu can easily pass through.

Su Ao Train Station is a small bus station for a 10 000 people city. It located at beside of the train station. The brief is to design the bus station in relation with the train station. The landscape between the two building is where will be the pavilion space for future use. My role is to build the 1:50 model of whole site and checking the construction detail on site. I also responsible to render the plan for the magazine and competition purpose.

2016 SONGKHLA FIELDSCHOOL PROGRAM Is an outbound program held by National University of Singapore, collaboration with University of Malaya and Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla. The main activities is that we doing mapping on the heritage street. Go deep into the culture and community of Songkhla. Listen to their story about how they love this place. The second activities is that we are doing measured drawing for one of the shophouse there. It was a 200 years shophouse and full of historical value.

PEOPLE + PLACE BOOK LAUNCHING AND EXHIBITION After the field school program in Songkhla, we then travel to NUS for further production for the measured drawing. We composed all the story that we had in Songkhla in a book and bring to Melacca to launching, as well as publishing the measured drawing .

BIOGRAPHY Story about architecture and me For me, the best part in architecture is the challanges that we are designing the details for the form and the space of the buildings. Architecture become an intresting subject for me when learning is not from book anymore. We see, we observe, we touch, we feel, we smell materials from all over the world and trying to compose it into a good melody of space. I am 22 years old, graduated from Bachelor of Science of Architecture in University of Malaya. I love photography, sketching, caligraphing. I am passionate, self-driven, hardworking and willing to learn. I love nature, and nature always inspired me. Same goes to architecture. Nature always my inspiration when designing. All the project that i had done is under one core idea which is community. Building is like a big tree and there always have lifes on the tree like ants, birds, snails, which is like people who are using it. During my final year of Bachelor of Architecture studies, my mentor , En Wan Azhar (CODA)and Pn. Aty Rosemary (University Malaya) who really teach me to strengthen my idea and concept.
