Mission Statement.
I have been an athlete all of my life and played soccer for 13 years. This is what first intrigued my interest into activewear. For my capstone, I decided to create an online auction for Nike because that is the company I would love to work for in the future. I have grown up with the brand and watched it evolve over the years into one of the most popular activewear companies. Nike is dedicated to making an impact in communities all around the world. That is why all of the profits raised in the auction will be donated to the Nike Community Impact Fund. An organization set up to encourage physical activity for children. Nike has been a pioneer in celebrity collaborations. As a result, certain styles have become collectibles.

Company Overview. Nike was founded on January 25th, 1964 and is now one of the largest suppliers of athletic shoes, apparel, and sports equipment. Nike’s mission statement is if you have a body you are an athlete. They are committed to creating positive social changes around the world. We are creating an online auction “Nike Donation Nation” to benefit the Nike Community Impact Fund, who is partnered with the Charities Aid Foundation as well as the Oregon Community Foundation. The items up for auction will be a variety of our Nike shoes and will be signed and donated by some of the top athletes, celebrities, and other influencer's. Previous collaborations have sold for thousands of dollars and we hope to do just as well with our auction. We want to help kids get active, so they can have a healthier, happier, and more successful lives and bring inspiration to the communities where we live, work, and play.

Dear Roger Federer, We are writing this letter in hopes that you will extend your kind generosity to our online charity auction Nike Donation Nation for the Nike Community Impact Fund (NCIF), in partnership with Charities Aid Foundation of America and the Oregon Community Foundation. This is a collaborative approach to grant making that directly impacts local communities. Since 2010, the NCIF has been administered from the Nike World Headquarters by a committee of employee volunteers that has awarded 300 cash grants totaling more than $3.2 million dollars to local programs that promote sports and physical activity for youth and address pressing community needs. We know the value of these local programs for these children and we would like to continue to promote physical activity and support these kids in the best way we can. We will be having an online charity auction on April 22nd, 2018. Please see attached program for more details regarding the event. As you well know, meeting the needs of these kids requires funding combined with the hard work of dedicated volunteers. Hence, we ask if you can sign and donate a pair of your sneakers for the success of this project. Your contribution would make a huge difference in the lives of these children. Should you have any questions please feel free to email us at mparker@gmail.com Thank you in advance and we would sincerely appreciate your generous help towards this important cause. Sincerely, CEO of Nike Mark Parker
