Time and To-Dos
This month has been a whirlwind, and now I realize that it’s already time to start thinking about back to school and all the to-dos that go along with it. How can this be? It seems like school just got out. This train of thought sends me to a time when I was young and felt like time stood still; it just never went by fast enough. Nothing happened. If it did, it was in slow motion.
Wondering how I ever could have thought this way, I googled this phenomenon and found that it’s not unusual at all. Many people agree that as you age, time speeds up. There are also many theories about why we feel this way, although most of them are too complex for me to wrap my head around. Anyway, I don’t have time to try. I have too much to do to get ready for back to school.
But I am amused that my kids think the days drag on while for me, the day is over before I know it. I think they need more to do . . . or maybe I need less to do.
I hope you can get your back-to-school to-dos done now, so you can enjoy these waning dog days of summer.
Wishing you and your family a happy August, regardless of its speed,
Shannon
