CLIENT PROFILE Based in San Francisco, Jamba Juice Company has more than 350 company and licensed stores spread across 23 states and the District of Columbia that serve some 20 varieties of smoothies that the company positions as healthy meal replacements. Most of the blenderized concoctions rely on frozen or fresh fruit, supplemented with such optional “boosters” as bee pollen, ginseng, brewer’s yeast, and wheat grass. Jamba Juice has expanded to become one of the nation’s best known smoothie chains, emphasizing the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. They are looking for an office space in the Denver area that represents their fun and healthy lifestyle. They are adding an office to the Denver area so to focus their marketing and sales specificly for Denver Metro area.

MISSION STATEMENT To inspire and simplify healthy living for active, on-the-go lifestyles. Which means whether Jamba invites you sip, bite, give back or create, you’ll be left thinking the same thing: that felt good!

CONCEPT: Fresh STATEMENT: Clean, Simple, Modern

DESIGN STATEMENT: The concept is achieved through open, modern planning that allows the employees to be efficient and productive through the use of grouped tables with clean, simple, lines. The use of metal, wood, and glass, will bring in the modern look. Glass walls will allow the light to reach to every workstation. Splashes of color will bring the work envrionment an active and full of life work style. These colors will be brought into the glass and fabrics to be interactive with the environment and the employees. Clean lines and the use of color that will be refreshing to the senses and bring a postive attitude to the office. 4


BUILDING ANALYSIS

The Atrium I Office Building is a Type II-B three story traditional brick clad building featuring a central open air atrium in the heart of the Denver Technological Center corporate complex on I-25. The DTC is nationally recognized as one of the country’s premier business centers and forms the gateway to Denver’s southeast business corridor. The Atrium building’s full height atrium takes up the interior of the building and is open to above allowing natural day light into the third floor space and offering glimpses of native Colorado birds, trees and flowers. The interior of the building is supported with mutliple columns and has a centrally located elevator and stairs on either side. It also has male and female bathroom stalls. Full height windows that wrap around the perimeter of the building provide natural daylighting.

PROBLEM STATEMENT FORM: QUESTION: Considering the square floor plan and the use of columns is there a logical way to have an open plan that allows for an active work style? The semi-open space plan will create grouped work areas will allow collabortive work and productivity.

FUNCTION: QUESTION: How cannumerous departments come together and work together to create a feeling of community? Creating break off rooms and small meeting areas to sitmulate conversation will allow for collaboration and develope a sense of cummunity.

ECONOMY: QUESTION: Can the initial purchase of office furniture satisfy environmental and functional needs for future growth and reconfiguration? Using timeless and flexible systems furniture; limiting the use of standard partitions will meet sustainability and extend lifecycle goals.

TIME: QUESTION: Considering the company’s growth in the past, can the furniture and space acomodate future growth and still provide collaborative work spaces? The open floor plan will allow for growth with the use of appropriate furniture that is flexible while leaving communal areas for different departments to come together. 6
