MIU Events presents

Irish Business Aviation Convention Tuesday 27th – Wednesday 28th June 2012 Shannon, Ireland

INTRODUCTION TO THE CONFERENCE Shannon airport, Ireland, is the furthermost point West in Europe and has a long history of innovating and supporting aviation, from the early flying boats to providing US bound aircraft with Customs pre-clearance. In 2011 we ran the Financial Solutions for Business Aviation event in Shannon and this year we are broadening out the subject matter to provide a more comprehensive event which will address all aspects of business aviation relevant to the domestic market and how this fits and impacts elsewhere around the world. The 2012 event will be held at the stunning Dromoland Castle in the beautiful Co Clare countryside, a short ride from the airport, and comprises a two day conference to be held on Wednesday, 27 and Thursday 28 June, followed by a golf tournament or Co Clare tour on Friday, 29 June. There will be an accompanying exhibition for companies supplying and supporting the Irish and international Business Aviation community. In terms of topics covered there will be a variety of sessions dealing with market developments and how the industry is adapting to a period of change. Sessions will address delivering, registering and leasing through an Irish structure; tax planning and structuring deals, asset management; aircraft management; bizav economics; sourcing finance; How OEMs are dealing with a market oversupply; medi-vac and repatriation services; industry analysis; emerging markets and their likely impact on missions and movements; training and MRO initiatives. The event, as last year, will be supported with various networking options designed to enhance the experience of being in Ireland and provide attendees with ample opportunity to mingle with like minded colleagues. Both conference days will finish with a reception and a good helping of Irish hospitality! At the conclusion of Day 1 delegates will be transferred to the famous flying boat museum at Foynes for Irish coffee, drinks, music and entertainment over dinner and will return to the hotels around midnight. The event will close on Thursday evening with a hosted BBQ at a local restaurant and this will also include music and entertainment. The Irish Business Aviation Convention, 2012 event will expand your knowledge of the business aviation market and provide a precise flightpath through the many advantages of delivering, registering and leasing aircraft through an Irish Structure. This is an event geared to the needs of industry professionals and provides hard to access information about the latest trends and thinking in terms of the sector.

Corporation tax, R&D incentives, access to the EU, tax planning considerations and various fiscal instruments ensures that Ireland is a business friendly environment for any aviation related entity. In this opening panel session the event chairperson sets the scene and invites relevant experts to prepare a flight-plan for Business Aviation in Ireland. Aoife O'Sullivan, Partner, Gates & Partners Rodney O'Rourke, Director of Financial Services, IFG Managed Services 10.10 - Profiting from Opportunity It's one thing to set up a business in Ireland, it's quite another to turn a profit! Minimising a company's overall tax charge, realising shareholder value and establishing tax efficient structures will avoid unexpected turbulence. Tom Woods, Partner, KPMG Ireland 10:35 - Business Aircraft In Ireland – Funding, Risk and Insurance Convincing the banks to lend in the current economic climate is not straightforward. How do banks assess aircraft risk, what level of collateral is required and what level of insurance does the lender demand? Additionally, will ETS complicate matters, with the banks looking to take security over carbon credits? 11:00 - Networking Coffee Break 11:30 – Finance for Rotary applications Helicopters make up a significant proportion of the Business aviation fleet and often secure charter work on a retainer basis. What is the approach of the lenders to rotary operations, how big is the market and the role of commercial aircraft leasing?

12.00 - Illustrating the economics of business aviation Studies in the US illustrate that large-cap companies operating corporate aircraft outperform companies that do not by 141% in shareholder value. Small-cap companies have a 92% edge. Private aircraft are an efficiency tool that generate greater productivity from key executives. However, it is not simply a question of jumping on board a private jet that leads to greater productivity. What works and what doesn't when it comes to considering the use of private aircraft? Richard Koe, Partner, Aviation Advocacy 12:30 - Industry Analysis - trends and Bizjet and Helicopter values 664 business jets were delivered in 2011. This compares with 762 in 2010, 878 in 2009, 1290 in 2008 and 1114 in 2007. At what point will this trend reverse and what types are likely to sell best and in which markets? How is an ageing fleet valued and how does management and maintenance impact on the valuation process? 13:00 - 14:15 - Networking Lunch SESSION II: DEVELOPING SPECIALIST SERVICES 14:15 – Medical emergency and repatriation services Medi-vac, emergency repatriations and training flightcrews to deal with medical emergencies onboard is a growth business. Keith Trower, CEO, Aeromedevac Ireland 14.45 - MRO - Planning ahead To what extent do successful planning systems extend the operational life of the aircraft? 15:10 - Aircraft Interiors Cabin design and refurbishment, completions and technology is a specialist sector. To what extent does a bespoke interior with all the latest bells and whistles impact on an aircraft's resale value? 15.30 - Networking Coffee 16.00 - E-commerce and online marketing solutions Can e-commerce replace charter brokers and what online solutions are available? Paolo Sommariva, CEO, FL3XX.com Jonathan Sumner, Managing Director, Victor 17:00 - Q&A SESSION

Thursday, June 28, 2012 08:00 - Registration and coffee 09.00 - Recap of Day 1 and opening remarks from the chairman SESSION III – ISSUES SURROUNDING AIR CHARTER OPERATIONS 09.10 - Operator panel session - Plotting a course An array of confusing regulations, lack of harmonisation across Europe, fuel prices, over zealous security, technical issues, ETS, illegal charters, price fixing and criminalisation of accidents ensures operating an air charter business is a challenging process. Additionally, achieving a margin in the current economic climate is not a given. Are there too many operators chasing too few customers and will ETS tip some of them over the edge? Panel: Dagmar Grossmann, CEO, Grossmann Jet Service 10.10 - Emissions Trading Scheme From this year, aircraft operators will have to surrender one allowance per tonne of CO2 emitted on a flight to and from (and within) the EU. Non complying operators face fines or being banned from operating in the EU. An already complicated scheme has been complicated further by the Chinese passing a law which effectively forbids their operators from complying. India and Russia may follow, the US are considering their options! Will this lead to a trade war and, in the meantime, what are the implications for private air charter operators? Jeremy Robinson, Partner, Gates and Partners

11.00 - Networking Coffee Break 11.30 - Are there too many OEMs? Manufacturers in the US and Europe are struggling to find customers and new (cheaper) manufacturers are emerging in China and India. Does this place the owner/operator in a strong negotiating position? Oliver Stone, Managing Director, Colibri Aircraft 12.00 - Regional Business Airports and FBOs Regional airports can be an important driver of regional prosperity. By harnessing the skills and contacts of the High Net Worths, industry and Government leaders that pass through business airports the airport can be at the heart of new and innovative specialist support and supply services. James Dillon-Godfray, Business Development Director, London Oxford Airport 12.30 - Pilot Training With an increasing demand for pilots, especially from new markets, is there a requirement for an internationally recognised qualification for competency? 13.00 - 14.20 - Networking Lunch SESSION IV - BUSINESS AVIATION IN IRELAND 14.20 - Fuel Price Fluctuation Fuel prices are passed on to the customer and ultimately impact on the price of a charter. 14.50 - Delivery Destinations Free Trade Zones (FTZ) offer the incentive of no tax at the time of sale. The speaker provides a guide as to the procedures involved with delivering, inspecting and registering your aircraft through an FTZ. 15.20 - Pre clearance for US Customs Shannon Airport offers the option for Business (and commercial) aircraft to clea r US Customs in Ireland. This provides the operator with the flexibility to then enter the US without landing at one of the hub customs approved airports in the US. 15.40 - Networking Coffee 16.10 - Panel Discussion 17.00 - Chairman's summary and closing remarks 17.10 - Event closes
