branding sustainAB!LITY festival International Students Group Akili Education
sustainAB!LITY festival was the first annual student-run and sustainability-driven trade show that took place at Simon Fraser University Burnaby Campus and was organized by Sustainable SFU, SFPIRG Climate Change Action Group and Resource Environmental Management Student Union. Aiming to raise awareness on sustainability issues within the SFU community, the festival was also created as a platform for junior and senior undergraduate students to work together in applying current skills and gaining new skills. As a student-run event, the visual identity needed a more serious and professional without loosing the warmth and friendliness. Conveying the positive message that the people are the part of the solution was achieved through a play on typography on the identity and used in combination with a vibrant colour palette. The print marketing collaterals were printed on FSC certified and recycled stock.

International Students’ Group (ISG) is a constituency group of Simon Fraser Student Society and a student-run organization that represents the international student body at Simon Fraser University and advocates for international students’ rights. The logo mark is intended to appeal to the university crowd coming from different background. Inspired by the Olympic colours, the five colours of the fingers reflect the diversity of ISG membership. The palm print calls ISG members to have a hand in the organization to make the organization work for them. With a new identity, a brochure and informational banner was needed to reach out to current and incoming international student every semester. The training manuals were created to help new active members and volunteers to understand ISG history and manage the organization.

After a two year hiatus, PeopleFocus conference is back with renewed vigor and a fresh new look. As the only human resources conference for credit union professionals in Canada, attendees will learn about issues relevant to their business and have ample opportunity to network with their peers. To get the word out to the Credit Union executives and membership, a post card size direct mail was created and distributed through the inter-office mailing system. Serving as a reminder and event advertising, a poster was also designed and printed in-house.

The Member Referral Program is designed to retain members within the credit union system when they move outside of their original credit union’s trade area. The primary objective is to transfer the member’s finances to a new credit union in a seamless fashion, ensuring that members are not lost to another financial institution (i.e. a bank) during the relocation process. Aimed at Enterprise readers, the advertisement serves as a reminder of Central’s services in helping their membership to develop retention programs for their own credit union. Entrprise magazine is Central’s celebrated trade publication is aimed at Credit Union executive managements and employees alike.

In the early nineteenth century, governments began to develop specialized educational programs — kindergartens and infant or nursery schools — to give children a head start in life. These programs hinged on new visions of childhood that originated in England and Europe, but what happened when they were transported to the colonies? This book unwinds the tangled threads of this history, revealing how these three similar but distinct colonies developed early education systems that maintained the integrity of the ideas that inspired them but adapted them to suit local ideas, politics, and indigenous and immigrant populations. This unique account of early childhood education in comparative perspective shows how discourses and developments in the past have shaped the way we educate our children in the present. It will appeal to teachers, researchers, historians, and policy-makers who seek fresh insight into how to reconcile educational theory and practice in an increasingly global world. Client
