THE ACCORDIA TOUR: INFORMATION AN URBAN RUG ON A CARPET OF LANDSCAPE

In 2008, the Accordia site in Cambridge won international acclaim as the first housing development to win the coveted Sterling Prize. This audio walk will take you on a guided tour of Accordia, exploring all aspects of this residential development, from the early planning process and history of the land, to the individual plans, motivations and concerns of not only the three architect teams involved in the design process, but also those of the developers, the landscapers, local authority planning committees and finally the Accordia residents themselves. The walk is suitable for anyone with an interest in architecture and the built environment, from professionals in the field to local authorities, schools, youth and community groups. We hope you enjoy using this tour. Considerations This walk will take approximately 90 minutes to complete and covers a distance of roughly 1.2 km. There are often opportunities to view an Accordia property internally. Please call Shape on 01223 462606 for info. The nearest facilities are located in the town centre Grand Arcade.
