CONTINUUM

W

e are aging at lightning speed. More than one billion people worldwide will be 65 years or older by 2030; 66 million of them will be Americans. For more than 40 years CJE SeniorLife has been at the forefront of developing programs and services for older adults that are comprehensive, innovative and customized to each individual’s unique circumstances. CJE SeniorLife is unique from other organizations because our programs and services complement one another, creating a continuum. This means that many older adults, their families and caregivers turn to CJE SeniorLife at different stages in their lives. People from all over metropolitan Chicago who use our services benefit from CJE SeniorLife’s invaluable network of support, guidance and resources. They might only participate in a single program, or they might use a number of different services to accommodate their evolving needs.

Some Examples: s After recuperating from knee-replacement surgery at CJE’s Haag Pavilion for Short-Term Rehabilitation, an 85-year-old woman returns home. However, her family needs help with aging concerns that will arise. They call on Your ElderCare Consultants to help with a personalized care plan, trips to the doctor, skilled crisis intervention and much more.

s A 65-year-old person first connects with CJE by attending a Center for

Healthy Living diabetes screening and educational seminar. A year later he hires CJE’s Home Safety Assessment service to recommend modifications he can make to his home to continue living in it for as long as possible. When he finally needs supportive care, he chooses Gidwitz Place for Assisted Living.

s Another person supports CJE SeniorLife’s mission for years through annual

donations and volunteering and then decides to enroll her 75-year-old mother who has Alzheimer’s in CJE’s award-winning Culture BusTM program. As her mother’s condition progresses, she finds a home for her at Friend Center for Memory Care, CJE’s assisted-living residence that is specially designed to address the unique needs of those with dementia.

CJE SeniorLife is here for you.
