I am so proud to be a member of the Washington Realtor Association where, just after the swift shut down of the state for all business, our association wasted no time to act with the intention to protect our housing market and the needs of our clients. It was our long-standing relationship with the governor's office that created the space needed to voice the concerns of our members that got us back to work 48 hours later.
I also have a renewed view of purpose and relevance after hearing the Washington Realtor Association speak loudly against past injustices to people of color when it comes to housing. The Realtor Association will continue to provide services, education and support through the fair housing initiative. This is something I remain passionate about, fair housing and affordable housing for everyone.
For 2021, I have a change in mindset… remove expectations and understand that I can’t control the world around me. I can however, trust in myself and remain positive that because I am a Realtor, I have a great organization that supports me and protects my clients with heart and compassion backed behind the Realtor Code of Ethics.

What is one to say about a year that nobody could have predicted. For many of us, 2020, was a year filled with memories of loss and grief for the death of a relative or loved one from Covid 19. Sadly, we lost several of our Realtor members as well. Then when it came to working with our clients in real estate, many of us didn’t know how to navigate the new Covid-19 restricted world around us.
