Pros and Cons of Ember.js

Ember.js is considered to be a framework of highly productive and out of the box. Built for productivity, the framework's abstractions enable developers to focus on what makes your app unique. You know it or not, there are world's popular brands are using the javascript framework such as Netflix, Zendesk, Microsoft, LinkedIn, and more. The framework brings forth many integrated templates that make Emberjs development services more efficient as developers focus on writing dramatically less code. Due to the availability of integrated templates, developers have written code update automatically when the underlying data changes. Although the framework has many advantages, it too has drawbacks equally. To understand the pros and cons of ember, let's understand from a developer's real-life experience of using Ember.js. Igor Preston – Quoren and a web developer has shared his experience of using the framework. According to him, these are the advantages and disadvantages of the framework.

Advantages 1. Ember Data library. He considered it the best library among others that he used to query the API layer and get data quickly into the local app store. He believes, no framework has anything close to it. 2. Ember CLI. Though the community get its Idea from Rails but present it in a way that it excellently does its job and speeds up your development. 3. With Ember using one terminal command (ember install), a lot of extensions can be easily

added to apps. Centralized repository of all add-ons listed together + searching through is also nice-to-have (http://emberaddons.com). 4. Built-in testing tools. Although the standard ember-cli application is supplied with QUnit, developers can still use other tools like Mocha/Chai for tests. 5. Of course round-the-clock support and active community. 6. Good conventions that allow you to be very productive once you really grasp them.

Drawbacks: 1. Ember Data is good for standard REST API querying, but you will end writing your own ajax requests using jQuery middleware in Ember if you require to fetch data from API that is not bound by REST standards. 2. Another drawback is tight coupling with jQuery. 3. The learning curve can also make or break the framework. Ember has a very steep learning curve. So he advised first to learn javascript then start working on Ember. 4. With ember, don't expect much customization. In her personal experience, he explained that for a client project that was a CMS and heavily relied on Drag and Drop and needed customizations, he had to move the project to React to achieve the desired results. 5. He finds Fastboot a joke with Ember and had not a good experience using it even working with the features. However, there are still some things to be aware of, as suggested in many articles on Ember.

When is Ember.js helpful to You? So there are cases when approaching the best Emberjs development company is good to go, but there cases when not. Take, for instance, the framework is best to choose when you want to be very productive, and the development environment doesn't bother you. Ember is a great help when you want to develop SPA CRUD apps. Moreover, if you don't mind having the more option for customization and control of everything, the framework is best to choose. Developers having RoR background will find it easy to work with Ember framework. Besides its cons, Igor love working with Ember and find the framework best for the job.
