New Year Brings Lots of New Processes
Hello Head Start Families!
I cannot tell you how good it feels to be back! It may not be exactly the same right now, but we are working toward restoring our services, and getting back to some kind of normalcy.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19), brought us a year to remember. It has been the ultimate challenge for each and every one of us, and worldwide. Many of you will remember that on Friday March 13, 2020, I received news that we had to shut down our program and close our centers. I admit, I was shaken at first, and really couldn’t believe it was all happening.
We had to deliver the news to all staff and to our families that we were shutting down. We didn’t know for how long and there were so many questions that we didn’t have answers to. It was a very difficult time for all of us.
Well, you know the rest of the story, and here we are! I was so proud of our staff and parents as you participated in our Facebook pages during our closure. It was wonderful to see videos, pictures and messages from parents as you worked with your children at home. Staff kept the momentum by providing learning activities, and continuing communications with our families.
As we embark into the 2020- 2021 program year, we want you to know that we have implemented new safety procedures concerning COVID-19. We have worked very hard to ensure safety for our children and families. You should have noticed the difference right away when you brought your child to school on the first day. Remember, the changes we have made benefit us all. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your site administrator for assistance.
We are glad to be back with you again!
