Places of Worship

Pingree Grove he Village of Pingree Grove is a place to grow! The Village is incredibly proud to continue in its position as the fastest growing community in the state, with a wide Tvariety of housing styles to meet all interests. We are working on a daily basis to expand the range of commercial offerings and shopping available to our residents, and with the growing population, we look forward to the establishment of a major commercial corridor along Route 47. The past year was challenging for everyone in a number of ways. Despite the challenges, residents helped support local businesses and we saw neighbors helping neighbors. New business investment continued with the construction of the new Kelly Williamson project, targeted to open in 2021. Among the businesses investing in Pingree Grove is the medical device manufacturer, Trident Manufacturing, who is constructing a new facility and producing new jobs in the Village. The Village’s streamlined development-review process and competitive tax environment ensures our continued status as a business-friendly community. The Village is lead by Village President Steve Wiedmeyer and the Village Board of Trustees comprised of Charles Pearson, Patricia Dulkoski, Amber Kubiak, Joseph Hirschbein, Luke Hall, and Raúl Lemus. Village Manager Jeff Cook leads the professional management team for the Village, comprised of Finance Director Karen Plaza, Police Chief Shawn Beane, and Public Works Director Pat Doherty. The Village works diligently to run efficient and productive operations, ensure beautiful neighborhoods and public amenities, and to provide high quality public services. This next fiscal year presents many challenges and opportunities for the Village. Work is proceeding in earnest to design and finance expansions to the Village’s water and wastewater systems. Proposals to continue the residential growth of the village stand to increase the population toward establishing a strong commercial market opportunity for new retail activity. Certification of the U.S. Census will move Pingree Grove into new territory with respect to financing the police department and challenge the Village to find ways to afford public safety initiatives in keeping with the needs of the growing community. Needed investment in infrastructure and capital equipment purchases and maintenance will continue to vie for limited resources. Despite the challenges faced, Pingree Grove continues to be a place to grow! We look forward to this year and hope you all remain safe and healthy.

May See-A-Truck

The COVID-19 pandemic transformed many aspects of life, including the Village’s Touch-A-Truck event. The event typically draws hundreds of participants ready to touch the many makes, models, shapes and sizes of trucks, cars, emergency vehicles and construction equipment available to them. Due to the pandemic, the event will be again be held as “See-A-Truck,” with vehicles touring different neighborhoods within Pingree Grove.

June Community Wide Garage Sales

Every year around Father’s Day weekend, Pingree Grove puts out the welcome sign (and a lot of other good stuff too!) and invites the public to the Community Wide Garage Sales. A map is published to show where the sales are and what is being sold. With close to 200 homes participating, who can resist?

July Stars & Stripes Drive thru Parade

This event takes place the Saturday following the 4th of July. Although guidance on health and safety may affect what is possible this year, plans are in the works to provide a drive-thru parade for kids to get a swag bag filled with goodies, with a spectacular firework show Saturday evening that has been voted #1 in Kane County. We hope to bring back many other activities in 2022.

December Annual Tree Lighting Celebration

This special event has taken place at the Municipal Center on the first Saturday in December and features music, kids’ crafts, a holiday train ride, coloring, storytelling and maybe a visit from you-know-who! Always a magical event to put you in the holiday spirit. This event remains TBD based on health and safety guidance in effect at the time. Last year, the Grinch made an appearance at several businesses across the area who graciously supported the events committee during the previous year.
