grateful for their time in office. Hamilton said she admired those who participate in public service and said the sentiment of gratitude should be honored, regardless of controversy surrounding the school. However, the meeting turned heated when Mazzochi asked whether passing the resolutions of appreciation was legally binding in any ongoing investigations. Both Wozniak and Birt bristled at her inquiries during what was supposed to be a moment of recognition. Birt said Mazzochi was “completely disrespectful” and Mazzochi was “showing [her] colors.” Savage and Svoboda both left during Mazzochi’s questions before the official vote.

“The College of DuPage has been through tough times, times marked by extended and continuous denial. Those troubles are not yet over, but the causes of those troubles are. This institution faces criminal investigations, legislative disdain and alienation from constituents.”

What some believe to be a new era at the College of DuPage started off with a rocky first few votes April 30. The Board of Trustees chose a new chairwoman, vice chairwoman and secretary – all affiliates of the triumphant Clean Slate candidates – during its organizational meeting. However, those selections were far from unanimous. Outspoken trustee and former Vice Chairwoman Kathy Hamilton, a Hinsdale resident, was elevated to chairwoman. Deanne Marie Mazzochi was voted vice chairwoman and Frank Napolitano was named secretary. All three votes were passed 4-3, split each time between the new majority reformers and the old guard of previous Chairwoman Erin Birt, Joseph Wozniak and Dianne McGuire. “The College of DuPage has been through tough times, times marked by extended and continuous denial,” Hamilton said. “Those troubles are not yet over, but the causes of those troubles are. This institution faces criminal investigations, legislative disdain and alienation from constituents.” Members of the public in attendance largely cheered the new officers’ election, many even giving a standing ovation. However, the meeting also devolved several times into personal attacks among the trustees and public. Hamilton said the board must be more responsive to the community to earn back its trust and that constituents were “rightly outraged.” She promised change would begin immediately, with the board

4 Breuder out, audit upcoming, reimbursements suspended at COD By NATHAN LURZ nlurz@shawmedia.com The College of DuPage could be on its way to a “Clean Slate,” but the cleaning may not come too easy if the new Board of Trustee’s second meeting April 30 is any example. The board includes three new faces after the April election – Deanne Marie Mazzochi, Frank Napolitano and Charles Bernstein – united under a shared platform of reform and behind newly selected Chairwoman Kathy Hamilton. With the majority of the seven-member board on lock, the four pushed through an aggressive special meeting agenda the three remaining trustees consistently voted against, citing a lack of transparency and inclusion in Erica Benson - ebenson@shawmedia.com its drafting. New College of DuPage trustees Frank Napolitano and Deanne Mazzochi on April 30 at-
tend the board’s first public meeting since the April 7 election.
Breuder out Early in the meeting, the board addressed one of the biggest elephants in the room: President Robert Breuder. The controversial leader has been in the limelight for months, first for a leaked email in July 2014 that advised trustees to find “politically attractive” ways to spend $20 million in state funding promised to the school. His tenure was later punctuated by the board’s
approval of a nearly $763,000 buyout for his early retirement in March 2016 and several DuPage County and federal subpoenas looking into his on-campus spending and that of trustees and administrators under his watch. Breuder beat the board to his proposed ouster, announcing April 28 he would be taking medical leave, but trustees still put him on administra-
tive leave with pay during the meeting. New college attorney Tim Elliott, who also serves as a Glen Ellyn village trustee and has been involved in cases against the college twice in the past year, said the move gave the board control over the timing of Breuder’s return. College trustee Joseph Wozniak said he was voting down the measure not just in protest of lack of transpar-
ency, but also because he was “not going to kick a man when he’s down.” The passage of the vote, which included installing Executive Vice President Joseph Collins as acting interim president, was met with applause from the public.
Audits and legal action The board also moved on several looming issues regarding legislation and legal action against the school April 30. After months of foot-dragging, trustees authorized a state-run audit of the school’s finances from 2009 to 2014 by the Illinois Auditor General’s Office. Earlier this year, several members of the General Assembly asked for the audit, including state Rep. Jeanne Ives, R-Wheaton. Ives originally gave the college a March 12 deadline to accept terms for an audit dating to 2011 and agree to pay for the estimated $144,000 to $234,000 project. The board also authorized an internal investigation into the college’s accounts April 30, directed staff to provide the board and college’s client files from several law firms, and formalized a litigation hold in light of the federal investigations against the school.

New leadership takes over District 86 board By DAN FARNHAM dfarnham@shawmedia.com HINSDALE – Hinsdale Township High School District 86 seated its newly elected board of education, which voted Kay Gallo as its president during its Monday meeting. Recently re-elected Jennifer Planson was voted for the position of vice president and new board member Kathleen Hirsman was voted as secretary. Bill Carpenter was the other elected member sworn in. The board also officially announced the resignation of member Victor Casini and said it would immediately start accepting resumes for the position, with a deadline of 5 p.m. May 11. Applicants should submit a letter of interest and their resumes to the board by emailing boe@hinsdale86.org or mailing their documents to the attention of Board Recording Secretary Debra Kedrowski, 5500 S. Grant St., Hinsdale, IL 60521. Gallo was the only nominee for board president and received a yes vote from all the board member who were physically present. Board member Claudia Manley

Gallo said that, as the new board president, she would like to foster an environment where each board member has the right to voice their opinion.
Why Pay More For Local Moving?
The new board leadership already showed a difference in how they conducted the meetings. During public comment, speakers were given five minutes to talk, instead of the previous two minutes. Planson suggested the board consider eliminating the finance and facilities committees and have the topics be part of the regular board discussions. Corcoran said he advised against
doing so because it could significantly increase the workload during regular board meetings with many pressing finance and facilities issues coming up. Planson also was in favor of re-establishing the district roundtable, where board and district staff members could meet to discuss issues. Gallo and Planson both suggest that the board president no longer be part of writing the Board Briefs, a newsletter sent to residents after each meeting to recap what happened. The administration would be solely responsible for the newsletter. Because the previous meeting ended before the board could take any action, the board had to vote on items during the meeting. Among the expenses they approved were $275,055.50 to replace the core switches for the district’s network, create wireless access points in every classroom and install a new Internet firewall. District administrators said these upgrades would improve computer performance immediately, strengthen the network security and give the district the ability to use 1:1 computing if it chooses.

Manley releases statement about allegations she bullied student

HINSDALE – Saying they want the public to know the truth about Hinsdale District 86’s ongoing investigation, Claudia and Noel Manley have sent out a public statement giving their version of the alleged bullying incident between Claudia Manley, a district board member, and a Hinsdale Claudia South High School stu- Manley dent. In the statement, the Manleys state that the March 12 incident outside Hinsdale South High School was blown out of proportion, while also questioning the veracity of the district’s investigation process and asking for security footage of the incident to be released to the public. “To be clear, Claudia Manley denies each and every allegation made by the student, or anyone else, of bullying and harassment,” the statement said. “She made a maximum 60-second response to the student’s choice to insert herself into an adult conversation.” Bruce Davidson, who sent the statement on behalf of the Manleys, said the Manleys are not available to further comment on their statement or to answer questions about it. The Manleys also brought a suit to the DuPage County Circuit Court, asking the court to stay the investigation. The court denied the request Monday. District 86 Superintendent Bruce Law said the district anticipates the investigation will be concluded by Thursday evening. In their statement, the Manleys gave a detailed account of what they state happened March 12. The statement said they were walking to the high school to watch their daughter perform in a play when they saw community member Mary Sullivan and student Marissa DuPont distributing fliers for political candidates. The statement said the Manleys approached them to inform them that the campaign activity was against board policy. The conversation lasted about five minutes, with most of the interaction being between the Manleys and Sullivan, according to the statement.

Making sure children OUR VIEW Some sour notes mar good are ready to learn
moves by new COD board
If you were hoping the new majority on the College of DuPage Board of Trustees would hit the ground running at their first meeting, starting the process of repudiating all the controversial decisions we’ve seen out of the school in the past year, then you were likely thrilled with what you saw at the April 30 meeting. If you felt, though, the winners from the April 7 election should allow the outgoing board members to recede into obscurity with at least a little bit of dignity, well, that didn’t happen. Some strife is inevitable. The three holdovers from the previous board lineup who represent the former majority aren’t likely to support the four members, led by new Chairwoman Kathy Hamilton, in many of their efforts to roll back all of those bad decisions. There are going to be a lot of 4-3 votes, as there were April 30. Putting its stamp on President Robert Breuder’s medical leave by voting to put him on administrative leave – good. Now he can’t declare his medical leave ended and go back to work at any time he pleases. Moving forward with a state-run audit of the college’s finances – also good. We need clarity on whether the college has been a good steward of tax dollars and students’ tuition. Hiring temporary legal counsel for the board that had previously represented Hamilton – an eyebrow raiser for sure. What was decidedly not good was the political theater around the awarding of “certificates of appreciation” for outgoing board members Kim Savage and Nancy Svoboda. New Vice Chairwoman Deanne Marie
Ann Pinkney is senior director of marketing and communications for Metropolitan Family Services.
Suburban Life Media Editorial Board Laura Burke, Dave Lemery, Matt Hendrickson, Anna Schier, Alex Soulier, Mary Beth Versaci
Mazzochi, part of the “Clean Slate” of candidates that bested Savage and Svoboda at the polls, questioned whether passing the resolutions of appreciation was legally binding and could have an impact on ongoing investigations of the school. To an observer, this line of questioning seems like a mean-spirited dig rather than a sincere concern. Apparently it wasn’t sufficient to have defeated Savage and Svoboda at the polls, to have been given a mandate from voters that sweeping change was needed on the board. Instead of being a gracious victor and moving on to clean up the mess made by previous leaders, we have an overt attempt to humiliate those who were defeated. It’s no surprise that Savage and Svoboda chose to leave before the official vote on the certificates. Kim Savage and Nancy Svoboda took part in votes that were openly derided on this very opinion page, and were part of a former board that generally left the entire Chicago region scratching its collective heads trying to understand what was going on in Glen Ellyn. But surely there’s no harm in taking a moment to recognize their service, letting them have a moment of acknowledgment as their time as public servants came to a close. If the ongoing investigations point fingers in their direction, so be it. That’s another matter for another day. Being right on many, or even most, of the issues doesn’t give the new board majority carte blanche to treat the new minority, or anyone else, in a disrespectful fashion. There’s a lot to fix, but showing some decorum in the process would go a long way toward healing the wounds on campus, too.

According to Illinois School Report Card, more than 1 in 4 children in Community Unit School District 200 are from lower-income families, a 221 percent increase from 8.5 percent in 2000. In addition, 8.5 percent have limited English proficiency, up from 3.6 percent in 2000. To help close the gap, the COMMUNITY Wheaton/Warrenville Early VOICE Childhood Collaborative was Ann formed in spring 2013. The Pinkney Collaborative includes nearly 30 community agencies, early childhood providers and early childhood supporters in DuPage County who are working together to improve kindergarten/ school readiness for children in D-200. The collaborative focuses on increasing access to early childhood resources and services for those in the community’s under-resourced areas. Lead partners include District 200; the DuPage Foundation, which is financing the Collaborative; and Metropolitan Family Services DuPage, the group’s fiscal agent. Collaborative members knew they needed to better coordinate and unify how they delivered early childhood services and ways to best equip and educate parents to prepare their children for school success. “A key goal has been to change how services are provided so families can access services more easily,” said Kathy Robson, project director. Stephanie Farrelly, principal of D-200, said, “The collaborative is crossing boundaries and developing strong linkages to create coordinated community systems to accomplish our common vision. Examples include using a coordinated birth through age five developmental screening process that has resulted in easier access for families, use of a common language between providers, and more children being screened and provided supports as needed before kindergarten.” The collaborative is generating results. The district has seen an 8 percent increase in students ready for kindergarten as measured by district literacy assessments from fall 2012 to fall 2014. These efforts also led to the Wheaton/Warrenville community being invited to participate in the Preschool Development Federal Grant Expansion application with the State of Illinois. This grant will expand access to high-quality early education and care for the State’s highest-need 4-year-olds. Wheaton/ Warrenville was one of three DuPage communities to be awarded funding through the grant to open three new classrooms with spaces to serve 60 children. The first classroom is scheduled to open in the fall. For information, contact Kathy Robson at 630-784-4860 or robsonk@metrofamily.org.

This is in response to the woman who is telling people to stop volunteering for adoption rescue animals. My rescue is not a brick-and-mortar rescue. We count on the kindness of foster homes and our veterinary offices. Many brick-andmortar rescues have paid staff and some volunteers. If you want to look, so be it, at the dogs in their kennels. The majority of breed rescue dogs are not in these facilities; they are individual rescues, breed specific. So, please, do not tell us to stop volunteering, or else where would these dogs go?

It appears Hinsdale is but a suburb of Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore, with the walkout of board members Kay Gallo, Mike Kuhn and Jennifer Planson because they are upset that voters overwhelmingly approved referendum against teachers striking. One can only hope their walkout is permanent. They are all too old to still be threatening, “If I don’t get my way, I’m taking the ball home.” Thuggish behavior has no place in American society.

16 Legislators to ask Lt. Gov. to look at election commission consolidation By NATHAN LURZ nlurz@shawmedia.com One of the biggest issues of this year’s DuPage County Clerk race was the future of the DuPage Election Commission – namely whether it should continue. Now a pair of local legislators are asking the lieutenant governor’s office to take another look at it. Sen. Chris Nybo, R-Elmhurst, and Democratic DuPage County Board member Liz Chaplan have teamed up to request a special statewide task force consider dissolving the agency. The county’s election commission is one of only a few in the state, as most elections are run by each county clerk’s office. DuPage is one of the few that are run by a separate entity. “We had been talking about consolidation efforts in DuPage, so I thought that if we’re going to be serious about consolidation [then] we need to look at the election commission,” Chaplan said. “Maybe it’s not feasible, maybe it’s not worth doing, but we’re asking the task force to look at it and act on it if they choose.” The commission was created more

Nazareth basketball coach reaches state Hall of Fame By DAVID LANZAFAME dlanzafame@shawmedia.com LA GRANGE – The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame has added a new inductee. John Bonk, head coach of the Nazareth boys varsity basketball, was inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday. Since 1980, John Bonk has coached high school basketball. He was head basketball coach for Weber High School from 1985 to 1996 and at St. Rita School from 1996 to 2006, before joining Nazareth Academy. “I feel humbled about it,” Bonk said. “I want to thank my family who have been supportive of my 36 years. I’m a retired Chicago Fire Department person from the city of Chicago. I’ve lived out here for 20 years after I retired in 1995-96. I’d like to make a comment about this woman who wrote ... about they should build a firehouse next to a grocery store. Seems she thinks the fire department spends most of their time there. ... I really feel sorry for people who look at the fire department as some kind of bunch of lazy people sitting on their butts all day. ... Downers Grove has an excellent fire department. ... I know what it takes to be a good fireman, and that’s what they are.

Additionally, it hired new temporary legal counsel – Elliott’s Rathje & Woodward and Schuyler, Roche & Crisham – for the board. Both were retained to guide the board during the next four months, although the three old guard trustees questioned the latter’s hire, as one of its attorneys, Dan Kinsella, represented Hamilton after the board censured her last year.

Purpose of library?
Downers Grove has excellent firefighters
I would like to extend a huge thank you to the members of the Downers Grove North High School band (and band conductors), along with guest artist Frank Caruso, for their gracious kindness in performing an outstanding concert on April 14. Their talent is remarkable. I can only imagine the practice and hard work that blossomed into such an excellent performance. I would highly recommend DG plays and concerts as a family activity. You won’t be disappointed. May God abundantly bless them and their families. Did the Downers Grove taxpayers spend over $2.5 million for the library so that we can harbor the homeless and the indigent to spend all day, every day, there? And yesterday afternoon, we had a firetruck in the parking lot at the library and an ambulance blocking Curtiss. Six firemen in the lobby for one man. And that’s where our public service goes? Lovely.
online petition started calling for Claudia Manley’s resignation from the board, according to the statement. The statement said none of the petition signers witnessed the incident, and those who passed by the conversation the night of the incident did not pay attention. The statement said that the district administration has refused to release the security footage from the incident, which the Manleys believe will corroborate their version of the incident. The statement also said the board was scheduled to vote on releasing the security footage during the April 27 meeting before the meeting was ended when half the attendees walked out. Law said the district is not releasing the video to the public because there are legal standards at play with students being in the video. He said even if there were
not legal issues, the video is evidence in an ongoing investigation. In the statement, the Manleys said the board’s investigation policy gives little guidance on how to properly conduct an investigation. The statement said there are no safeguards to make sure witnesses are telling the truth and the findings will be objective. Law said the district’s attorney had been delaying the investigation because the board had said it wanted to give guidance on the investigation. The board included discussion of the investigation on three meeting agendas in April. However, the April 6 meeting was canceled, the board did not give direction at the April 13 meeting and the April 27 meeting ended prematurely. After no such guidance was given, he said the attorney decided to move forward with the investigation.
• MANLEY Continued from page 8 The statement said DuPont mostly circled the conversation and inserted herself once to say that it was her First Amendment right to campaign. Claudia Manley told DuPont she was mistaken because the First Amendment does not include unauthorized political activity on school grounds, according to the statement. DuPont said she had been asked to help with the leafleting, to which Manley said DuPont should have said no because the activity would be disrupting her classmates, according to the statement. The statement said the Manleys later received three phone messages from DuPont’s parents, demanding a return call or they would take “the next step.” The Manleys did not return the calls, after which an

The board also hired a transition team led by Donald Haider, professor of strategy at the Kellogg School of Management. The team will guide new board members and possibly interim administrative leadership through the legal action against the college and recommend ways to improve operations and governance. Hamilton said she was already looking at filling it with volunteer local stakeholders from across the district.

Red Stars Down Sky Blue FC 1-0 in World Cup Send-Off Colaprico scores first professional goal as Chicago stays unbeaten in 2015 Chicago, Illinois – – The National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) Chicago Red Stars dominated and stayed unbeaten in their third match of the 2015 campaign on Saturday, defeating Sky Blue FC 1-0 behind rookie midfielder Danielle Colaprico’s first tally of her professional career. While the visitors from New Jersey were without all of their World-Cupbound players, the home match served as the Send-Off event for five of the eight Chicago stars who will be competing in this summer’s tournament in Canada. The Red Stars put pressure on their opponents early and created the first close look in the 5th minute, as defender Taryn Hemmings sprinted up the right wing and sent a dangerous ball to the far post. Teammate Vanessa DiBernardo was unfortunate to see her header from a tight angle sail just over the frame. A mere four minutes later, the hosts’ aggressive approach nearly paid off, DiBernardo coming close to stripping goalkeeper Brittany Cameron of the ball for what would have been a certain tally. Chicago had its next quality chance moments later. Former Virginia standout Colaprico sent Lori Chalupny down the left and the 31-year-old’s centering pass seemed destined to be tapped home at the doorstep. Instead, it evaded both defenders and attackers, trickling just wide of the far post. Red Stars striker Christen Press, who came into the game as the newly crowned NWSL Player of the Month for April, had two opportunities to open the scoring in the 18th minute. After her left-footed attempt from 20 yards out forced a diving save, Press got back on the ball and fired just high from inside the penalty area. She caused havoc once again halfway through

the first period, this time courtesy of Chalupny, who flew down the left and saw her low firsttime cross rifled just wide by Press. After an uneventful finish to the opening period, Chicago came out of the break with renewed urgency, and the persistence finally paid off in the 54th minute. Having hit teammate Julie Johnston in the face on her initial blast from just inside the box, Colaprico did everything right on the rebound, smashing a left-footed rocket past the outstretched arms of Cameron to make it 1-0. The crowd at Benedictine University subsequently had to wait until 15 minutes from full time for another quality opportunity, Chicago’s Chalupny exploding into the box on the left and rifling a laser beam on target that was guided over the bar by the fingertips of Cameron. Red Stars goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc made her best stop of the match in the 86th minute, leaving her feet and diving to her right to deny Hayley Haagsma’s dangerous header off an in-swinging free-kick from the wing. Cara Walls nearly sealed the deal for the hosts in stoppage time, as she found herself one-on-one with netminder Cameron, who pounced on a lapse in concentration to defuse the threat. It would be the day’s final close look, as the home side earned its second win of 2015. The Chicago Red Stars look to earn three more points when they take on Boston Breakers this coming Saturday in a doubleheader with MLS outfit Chicago Fire at Toyota Park in Bridgeview. Single-game and season tickets for the 2015 Red Stars campaign may be purchased by visiting www.chicagoredstars.com or by calling 773-698-6001.

vinaigrette. Grilled asparagus and pearl couscous were perfect complements. I am not normally a fan of fish (or asparagus, for that matter), but even I was impressed with the dish and the way it was presented. I set aside my desire for the bacon-and-blue-cheese-infused hamburger with truffled mayo and sampled the Cuban sandwich. The fresh ground mustard worked well with sweet pickles and the smokiness of the pork, all encased in a perfectly toasted Cuban roll, akin to French bread. For dessert, we tried the salted caramel cheesecake. It looked so much like ice cream we thought it would be cold, but it was light, fluffy and sweet with the right amount of salted caramel flavor on top of a toasty graham cracker crust. As chef Irvine noted on “Restaurant Impossible,” the food at Zest has always been

DOWNERS GROVE – A star turn on the Food Network show “Restaurant Impossible” spotlighted Lemon Tree Grocer in Downers Grove and the Zest Bistro located within, where the food has always been center stage. Celebrity chef Robert Irvine, host of the television program, said it was one of just a few times in years of filming the show that he actually enjoyed the food served at the outset. That’s high praise from a well-regarded chef who never hesitates to call it like he sees it. That there was nothing wrong with the menu in the first place was confirmed when my date and I recently paid a visit to Zest. Though we were both hungry, we asked our waiter to give us more time to peruse the choices, because every item sounded delectable. Before picking entrees, we decided to appease our appetites by ordering the short rib nachos appetizer. Thick and crunchy tortilla chips were the foundation for a great blend of flavors that ranged from the sweetness of the beef to the tang of Cotija cheese sauce and lime horseradish crema, with a hint of spiciness from fresh green chilies. We paired our appetizer with beverages. My date picked a beer from an impressive list of offerings by independent breweries, while I chose the Dark and Stormy Mule served in a copper mug. The rum-based drink did a dance on my taste buds with simple syrup and ginger beer leading the tango. Irvine’s signature pot roast, introduced to the menu after his recent visit to Downers Grove, must be a fan favorite, as Zest had just served the last of a roast made a bit earlier in the day and was in the process of cooking a second. My companion was slightly disappointed not to be able to try the dish, but that changed when her salmon entree arrived. The perfectly cooked fillet was coated in a honey mustard glaze and served with a sweet and savory orange mustard

HINSDALE – Michael Johnson commands respect from his teammates, and not just because of his performance on the field. The Hinsdale Central senior is physically the largest player for the baseball team at 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds. He’s an imposing presence on the diamond, but he’s a humble leader for the Red Devils and prefers to let his play do the talking, both to teammates and the opposition. “I like to show the juniors the ropes and how the program gets things done, but I’m just like every other player on this team,” Johnson said. “There are no superstars on this team, we’re all just trying to do our jobs. If everyone does their job, things will fall into place.” Johnson has definitely been doing his job this season to help the Red Devils win nine of 11 games to improve to 13-10 overall heading into Thursday’s nonconference clash against De La Salle. He was among Central’s top hitters for average, but also had impressive power numbers [three home runs, 17 RBIs, 16 runs scored]. Johnson played extensively for Central as a designated hitter last season. This season he has seen time at first base. A position switch can sometimes hamper a player’s production at the plate, but Johnson is finding a way to get it done both in the field and in the batter’s box. “Last year I was definitely a fastball hitter. I still am a fastball hitter, but I struggled with the off-speed stuff, so that was a key point to work on in the offseason,” Johnson said. “So far I’ve been able to hit most of the off-speed pitches. Hornets’ Stars emerge for Hinsdale Central, South King sets timeline for recruitment BREAKOUT PLAYERS

Each spring provides a chance for baseball and softball players to make their mark, some for the first time at the varsity level. Here are a few having breakout seasons on the diamond for Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South:

In addition to playing solid defense, Cribbs has been a staple in the heart of the order and provides some pop in the lineup. “He’s a strong, powerful guy,” South head coach Paul Hoel said. “Not many second basemen are going to hit the ball like that.”

I don’t have it narrowed down that much.” After Hinsdale South’s football season wrapped up, King turned his attention to wrestling and won a Class 3A state title. When that was done he started offseason football training while paying visits to Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State during spring break in late March. He is continuing his offseason workouts with his Hinsdale South teammates and also preparing for the National High School Coaches Association national wrestling tournament, which starts May 27 in Virginia Beach, Va. King plans to devote even more time to his recruitment during the summer months. “I’m going to definitely release my top five before summer camp, and then the date of my commitment, I’m not really sure,” King said. “I’m taking a few visits in the summer to MSU and USC, but I’d like to have that commitment locked in before the season starts.”
