DAY OUT WITH THOMAS
The little ones in your life won’t want to miss the Illinois Railway Museum’s “Day Out With Thomas” event, in which they can “meet” Thomas the Tank Engine on July 10, 11, 17 and 18. The popular blue engine will be featured along with Percy and Sir Topham Hatt. “It’s a wonderful experience for the kids — they are absolutely blown away at getting to see Thomas in person and up close like this,” says Nick Kallas, executive director, in a news release. Tickets to the event include other family activities — magic shows, live music, snacks and more. For health information and to purchase tickets, visit www. irm.org.
KANE COUNTY FAIR

Are you prepared for five days of nonstop fun? The Kane County Fair is back this year, July 14-18. (The first day is free!) Experience all the county fair has to offer: carnival rides, great food, live music, 4-H showings, a demolition derby and more. The fair goes 3-11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, noon-midnight Friday and Saturday, and noon-10 p.m. Sunday. Free activities found on the fairgrounds include magic shows, a kid-friendly area, the car show, a petting zoo, an exhibit called “Kane County Dairies to Prairies” and more.
