OLD REPUBLIC KITCHEN & BAR 155 S. Randall Road, Elgin www.oldrepublicbar.com At this indoor/outdoor hub, patrons will find classic American eats created in-house, including award-winning burgers, pizza, smoked meats and fresh fish; beer and cocktails; daily specials; and live music. Best of all, Old Republic invites well-behaved dogs to hang out with their owners in the outdoor dining area. “I think most people view our pets as part of our family,” owner Nick Smith says. “And it’s wonderful to have them join on the patio in the summer. Everyone enjoys it.”
GLOBAL BREW TAP HOUSE – ST. CHARLES 2100 Prairie St., St. Charles https://saintcharles.globalbrew.com At this Global Brew location, well-behaved dogs are allowed both inside and outside with their owners. Pets must be on a leash at all times. “It’s a great way to get the dogs out to an establishment with the owners and meet other dogs from around the area,” owner Shashin Vyas says. Featuring 50 beers on tap and hundreds of bottles from around the globe, plans are also in the works to build a kitchen for serving food on the premises. But fear not: You can still nosh while enjoying craft beers. “Guests can bring their own food or order food to be delivered at Global Brew from the restaurants around the area via UberEats, Grubhub, et cetera,” Vyas notes. Additionally, Global Brew hosts events such as pet costume parties and meet and greets. “Our guests love the idea of us being a dogfriendly establishment,” Vyas says.

keep their furry friends on a leash and clean up after them. “We obviously hope that all pets are tame and can get along with both humans and other pets on the patio,” says Candace Mahoney, general manager of McBride’s North. While dogs are the norm, don’t rule out seeing other types of pets on the McBride’s patio. “There has been the occasional cat and parrot,” Mahoney says. Service animals are allowed both inside and outside.

Patrons can pair their brews with Urban Counter’s burgers, hot dogs, wings, salads and sandwiches. Four-legged friends are invited to join their human counterparts on the covered patio. “We feel dog owners want to spend more time sharing experiences with their pups and we welcome them to our patio for some sun and a good time,” says owner Mario Spina.

New York St., Aurora www.gillersons.com Patrons will find a rotating craft beer selection featuring Illinois breweries, bottle selections spanning the globe, seasonal handcrafted cocktails mixed on the spot, as well as an extensive menu with fares such as specialty burgers, sandwiches, tacos, salads and more. And you can enjoy all of that with your wellbehaved furry friends on Gillerson’s patio. “We love dogs,” says Dan Emerson, owner and operator. Water bowls are provided and washed after use to keep pets hydrated. “This way they get to socialize with other dogs and continue to be a part of their family,” Emerson says.
