Q: Who is the actress who plays the newest member of the “FBI: International” team, and what has she done before?

A: Christina Wolfe is the performer who has portrayed FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Amanda Tate starting in the CBS drama’s third season, which concludes Tuesday, May 21 (it has been renewed for a fourth year). She was brought in to help fill the opening left by founding cast member

Heida Reed, who left at the start of Season 3 when her character Jamie Kellett left the team to go back to America and continue her work with the FBI out of Washington, D.C.

Though the London, England-born Wolfe went by a different name — Christina Ulfsparre — earlier in her career, she’s also known for her series roles on E! Entertainment Television’s “The Royals” (as Kathryn Davis), The CW’s “Batwoman” (as Julia Pennyworth) and Syfy’s “The Ark” (as Cat Brandice). She also was featured in the 2022 Netflix movie “The Weekend Away,” playing a woman who disappears after getting a friend (played by Leighton Meester) to take a trip to Croatia with her. Additionally, she had a role opposite Kelen Coleman and Jacqueline Bisset in the 2019 Lifetime film “Adriana Trigiani’s Very Valentine.”

Wolfe had professional training at Drama Studio London, and she did much of her early acting overseas. That included the movies “From A to B,” “Level Up” and “Hercules Reborn,” plus such other TV work as “Doctor Mateo,” “West End Girls,” “Drowning in Sunshine” and “Holby City.”

New York Liberty looking to erase memories of last year’s final

The 2024 WNBA season continues with an electrifying matchup as the talented New York Liberty visit the reinvigorated Minnesota Lynx Saturday, May 25, at Target Center in Minneapolis. Fans can catch all the action live on CBS.

After an incredible 2023 season that saw the Liberty reach the WNBA final for the fifth time in franchise history, 2023 WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart, alongside the Liberty, are hungry to get back to the promised land after falling 70-69 in Game 4 of last year’s WNBA final.

Despite coming up short in the final, optimism remains with a new season underway.

“We know what happened last year, and the fact we didn’t achieve our goal will motivate us, but it’s not what we’re thinking about the entire season,” Stewart said, speaking with the Washington Post at this year’s training camp. “I’m really excited to get things going with a new and old group and build chemistry. Now most of us have a year under our belt, what are we going to do bigger on and off the court?” Stewart said.

While the ultimate goal of winning a championship was not achieved, the Liberty did improve their overall record, finishing the season 32-8. Stewart averaged 23 points per game, along with 9.3 rebounds, and set the WNBA record for most 40-point games in a single season (four).

For the Lynx, the 2023 season was full of positives for a team that outperformed expectations in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. The team went 19-21 during the regular season, earning the sixth seed in the WNBA playoffs.

The finale countdown: Major networks bid farewell to stars and series

April showers bring May flowers, but the best gift for TV lovers this May is finale season. As is tradition, networks all across North America prepare to wrap up many of their shows until the fall, among them procedural dramas, competition series, animated shows, family sitcoms and beloved news series.

Of all the spring finale weeks, May 19-25 is the most action-packed, with Sunday night, May 19, saying goodbye to seven TV shows and one longtime judge on ABC’s “American Idol.”

“American Idol” judge and “Roar” singer Katy Perry announced her departure from the long-running singing competition during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” back in February, and now the time has come to bid farewell to the pop diva.

“I love the show so much,” Perry told Jimmy Kimmel, “but I wanna go and see the world and maybe bring new music.”

As for who comes out on top at the end of “American Idol’s” three-hour Season 22 finale, no one knows. But there will be one big winner and one fewer judge by the time the credits roll on May 19.

Another long-running series, “60 Minutes,” airs its 56th season finale May 19, on CBS.

Created by Don Hewitt with Bill Leonard (both of “CBS Reports”) in 1968, the news series has become a Sunday night staple for families across the continent. And although it seems likely that the show will return for another season of high-quality interviews and investigative reporting, no official renewal has been issued as of writing.

From the arduous auditions, to the generous mentorship of “Kiss’” Gene Simmons, to this: in a season overflowing with incredible talent, it’s been tough to say goodbye to some of our favorite singers along the way. But with only a few performers left standing — and only room in the spotlight for one — it’s finally time to crown the next winner of “American Idol,” when Season 22 takes its final bow with a three-hour finale, airing Sunday, May 19, on ABC. Also airing their final offerings for the season on Sunday are CBS’s “The Equalizer,” “CSI: Vegas” and “Tracker.” Rounding out the Sunday night finales are the long-reigning animated adult sitcom, “The Simpsons” and its younger counterpart, “Krapopolis,” on Fox. But, as the work week ramps up, viewers catch a bit of a break. On Monday, May 20, just two Fox series air their final episodes of the season: the cooking show “MasterChef Junior,” showcasing the best up-and-coming young talents in the food world, and the always-astounding and creative dance competition “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Tuesday, May 21, belongs to the Feds, as CBS airs the finales to “FBI” and its two spinoffs, “FBI: International” and “FBI: Most Wanted.” At the same time, on Fox, “The Cleaning Lady” leans into the other side of crime and tidies up its third season with a two-hour finale. Come Wednesday, May 22, school is out for “Abbott Elementary” (until Season 4), but the focus is on the “Black-ish” spinoff “Grown-ish,” which is closing the door on the Johnson family’s story of growth and newfound adulthood after six seasons on ABC-Disney’s family network, Freeform.

“We’ve spent nearly a decade telling our stories through the ‘-ish’ series, and to say it has been an amazing journey would be an understatement,” said co-creator Kenya Barris (“Black-ish). “To be able to watch ... our entire ‘Grown-ish’ family grow up in front of (and in many ways alongside) us over these past several years has been both a joy and an honor.”

Ernie Hudson

Two tiny troublemakers have huge adventures while trying to live the good life in a big city park. Nervous worrier Chip and laid-back dreamer Dale make the perfect odd couple: they’re best buddies and they drive each other nuts. In their perpetual pursuit of acorns, these ultimate underdogs are joined by Donald Duck, Pluto, Butch and other iconic Disney characters as they face down bullies great and small.

Q: I just heard that they canceled the new “Quantum Leap.” What’s Ernie Hudson going to do now?

A: Feel free to mourn “Quantum Leap,” a fun reboot of a beloved classic, but don’t worry about Ernie Hudson (“Ghostbusters,” 1984).

Hudson will be appearing as himself in three documentaries that are currently in post-production — “Working Class Actor,” “Too Hot to Handle: Remembering Ghostbusters II,” and “Inner City Cultural Center II Presents an Intimate Evening With Ernie Hudson.” On top of that, the film adaptation of a play that he wrote, “Ghost in the House,” is currently in post as well. Meanwhile, he’s filming an indie art film called “Feel” and has four other projects in the early stages of development. So, it might be fair to say that right now, Ernie Hudson is busier than ever.

Consider this: when most people think of Hudson, they think of “Ghostbusters” (1984) and his star-making role as Winston, the grounded member of the team. And that really was a big time for him: in the same year that movie came out, he also had a six-episode arc on the hit show “St. Elsewhere,” and in 1985, he did two TV movies and another lengthy arc on the cartoon hit “Super Friends.”

But compare that two-year run to today: in 2023-24, he starred as straight-laced military man Herbert Williams in “Quantum Leap” on NBC, did three big-screen movies (“The Retirement Plan” and “Champions” in 2023 and, most notably, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” this year), and did an episode of the cartoon “Star Wars: The Bad Batch.”

And as I said, 2025 is already poised to be pretty busy as well.

The loss of “Quantum Leap” is rough for fans, but fortunately, Hudson’s doing just fine.

“We Are Lady Parts” - Season 2 (Peacock — May 30, Season Premiere)

“Eric” (Netflix — May 30, Limited Series Premiere)

Set in 1980s New York, this emotional thriller from Abi Morgan follows Vincent (Benedict Cumberbatch), one of New York’s leading puppeteers and the creator of a hugely popular children’s television show, as he struggles to cope with the loss of his son, Edgar (Ivan Morris Howe), after he disappears one morning on the way to school. Full of self-loathing and guilt around Edgar’s disappearance, Vincent clings to his son’s drawings of a blue monster puppet, Eric, convinced that if he can get Eric on TV, then Edgar will come home.
