Q: Now that Tracy Spiridakos has left “Chicago P.D.” as a regular cast member, is it possible that she’ll be back on the show as a guest?
A: That’s one of those “never say ‘never’” answers, since the actress made it clear at the time of her exit that she maintains great affection for her colleagues on both sides of the cameras on the NBC police drama. She said she definitely would return to Chicago to visit then, if only behind the scenes … but if there was a sensible story-driven reason for her Hailey Upton character to reappear on-screen, one would think Spiridakos would give it serious consideration.
The way Upton departed from “Chicago P.D.” left a possible way for her to resurface, since she was looking at the websites of agencies such as the FBI and the CIA, so it seemed that continuing in law enforcement in some way was on very much on her mind. In fact, Upton already has had a taste of working within one of those organizations: Spiridakos did a crossover guest shot in the role in a Season 2 episode of CBS’s “FBI,” executive-produced (as “Chicago P.D.” is) by Dick Wolf.
That being said, Spiridakos expressed that a major reason for her deciding to leave “Chicago P.D.” was her desire to shake things up for herself and see what other work might be available to her. Before starting her long run as a Windy City cop, she had starred in the NBC series “Revolution” and did recurring roles on such other shows as A&E Network’s “Bates Motel” and CBS’s reboot of “MacGyver.” Still, her “Chicago P.D.” tenure constituted a major portion of her career, so her wanting to spread her wings is understandable.

Start your engines, Formula One fans, because George Russell is coming home!
In front of his home crowd in England, Russell is looking to push hard in what fans can expect to be a thrilling race. The 2024 British Grand Prix gets underway July 5-7, with practice sessions, qualifiers and the race day broadcast live on ESPN.
The 2024 F1 campaign has been off to a slower than anticipated start for Mercedes, as the team continues to struggle to keep pace with front-runners Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren.
With a newly designed W15 car going into the season, both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton have only secured one podium appearance, with their best finish of the year coming at the Canadian Grand Prix, where Russell came in third.
While there have been many positives with the new W15 car — including a floor upgrade in Miami, as well as upgraded brake ducts, a new rear and new beam wing in Imola — it has yet to live up to its expectations.
Remaining hopeful that better days are ahead, Russell spoke with Sky Sports F1 about the realities of upgrading a car in a season with competition already as tight as it has been.
“When new upgrades take eight weeks to bring to the car, you learn this problem, Race 1, Race 2. You can’t just bring an upgrade to the next race,” said Russell. “You’ve got to put it in the wind tunnel, you’ve got to design it, someone’s got to draw it, someone’s got to build it, and then you’re halfway through the season. I think that’s why it’s so difficult when you’re on the back foot to just suddenly make that progress, and everybody expects it to be tomorrow, and we want it tomorrow, trust me. But this is the reality of Formula One,” said Russell.

Jules (Amanda Fix) pairs off with Wes (Liam Diaz) to investigate further. Kira (Keeley Hawes), meanwhile, confronts Darros (James Hiroyuki Liao) about his connection to Lucy (Krysten Ritter), leaving Lucy and Jack (Avan Jogia) to track down a potential lead. “Orphan Black: Echoes” continues with an exciting new episode, this Sunday, July 7, on AMC, with a trailer for this inaugural season available at amc. com/shows/orphan-black-echoes/videos/ orphan-black-echoes-official-trailer—1068442
Love is in the air this summer and one lucky lady is about to pick her potential husband from a pool of 25 beaus. Dating game show “The Bachelorette” is back with a brand-new, history-making season, premiering Monday, July 8, on ABC. Former “Bachelor” contestant Jenn Tran, a student in Miami’s Barry University physician assistant program, is the show’s first Asian American lead.
After making a splash on Joey Graziadei’s season of “The Bachelor,” Tran became a fan favorite. She spent several weeks getting to know Graziadei, a professional tennis coach, before being sent home in the last rose ceremony before the all-important hometown dates.
While she may not have “won” that season, Tran got so much more when she was announced as the next Bachelorette during the “After the Final Rose” special back in March. Tran was crowned by the last “Bachelorette” lead, Charity Lawson, whose love story ended in a heartwarming on-screen engagement.
New Jersey native Tran, whose parents immigrated to the United States from Vietnam before she was born, has lived in the midwest and Florida to attend undergraduate and master’s school, but is looking forward to finding love abroad, she told Entertainment Tonight.
“I don’t know where we’re going yet, but I can’t wait to find out,” Tran said just after she was named Bachelorette. She revealed her lifelong holiday dream, saying, “I’ve always wanted to go to Africa my entire life. I love animals and I would love to go out in the sanctuaries, go on lots of safari rides, all that stuff. So maybe that’s in the cards.”
“We’re really breaking the mold this season,” Tran said, connecting her monumental season with a major change to the norms of the Bachelor franchise. Season 28 of “The Bachelor” saw the last rose ceremony at the famous Agoura Hills, California, home known as “Bachelor Mansion,” home to many seasons’ first impression night dramas, where sparks flew and tears were shed.
“I feel like a new mansion is the perfect way to break the mold ... I’m gonna bless it with some re-
After finishing fifth in Joey Graziadei’s season of “The Bachelor,” Jenn Tran is ready to continue her search for love as this season’s star. A bubbly, charming and optimistic 26-year-old, Jenn is currently training to become a physician’s assistant, and will be balancing the affections of 25 single men as the first ever Asian American Bachelorette. Making history, Season 21 of “The Bachelorette” begins, Monday July 8, on ABC. To learn more about Jenn Tran, check out abc.com/video/94f998d5-0fae-480d-8651-725a6a17e61b/ playlist/PL551836387
ally good vibes,” Tran promised. The new home of Bachelor franchise premieres is Hummingbird Nest Ranch, where “Listen to Your Heart” was filmed, the hybrid dating and music competition series that aired in the early days of the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns — so don’t worry if you can’t exactly remember the home those songbirds lived in.

OF OFFICE SPACE ON 20TH CENTURY STUDIOS
Q: I was rewatching “Office Space” and realized I haven’t seen Diedrich Bader in a while. What’s he up to these days?
A: Voice work started as a sideline for comedic utility man Diedrich Bader (“Office Space,” 1999) while he hustled for bigger on-screen roles, but it’s graduated to be his main money-maker, which is why you may not have “seen” him in a while.
He was certainly born with a spectacular set of pipes, but it’s possible he’s leaned more toward voice acting because he gets a wider range of roles.
On screen, he’s made a career largely out of clueless-friend roles, with “Office Space” and “The Drew Carey Show” being prime examples, but see also the NBC sitcom “Outsourced” and his dojo-owning Rex in 2004’s “Napoleon Dynamite.”
But as a voice actor, he’s covered a lot more ground. For example, would you believe that the mullet-sporting neighbor from “Office Space” could also be a fan-favorite Batman?
Bader has voiced the caped crusader numerous times over the years, starting in 2008 with the beloved series “Batman: The Brave and the Bold.” His other most notable turn in the role was in the late ‘10s Max series “Harley Quinn,” but he’s done it a few other times as well.
He’s done other action-hero voice roles as well, such as in “Transformers: Earth Spark” (voicing Mandroid and Crowd) and the groundbreaking mid-’90s series “Gargoyles.”
But not surprisingly, a lot of his voice work has been comedic, such as in the 2002 feature “Ice Age” and the “Penguins of Madagascar” and “Kung Fu Panda” TV series.
