Welcome to Fox River Grove. On behalf of the Village Board, I would like to invite everyone to enjoy our village. Fox River Grove is in a strong financial position, and since 2018 remains a debt free community. The Village is committed to continuing to operate as an efficient and effective agent of our residents and businesses. The Village partners with the Chamber and community organizations to create wonderful business friendly events, such as Norge Ski Jump, Fox Chase 5K, the Village’s annual fireworks celebration, and more. Our local schools are outstanding. The elementary and middle schools of Fox River Grove District 3 and Barrington District 220 regularly score well in areas of student achievement. Both Cary-Grove and Barrington High School also rank among the top 10% of high schools in the nation. Construction has begun on a project that will bring 100 apartments to Fox River Grove on Algonquin Road south of Northwest Highway. Additionally, the Village purchased the Grayhill property (212 Northwest Highway), where the Village’s current municipal parking lot is located. This site may provide another opportunity for redevelopment at a future date. The Village also recently completed the purchase of the final parcels on Block B. This area includes the properties along Northwest Highway between Illinois Street and Lincoln Avenue. The Village is marketing the property to the commercial / mixed-use development community through a request for qualifications (RFQ) process, and is looking forward to seeing redevelopment in this area of downtown. The Village has been actively working on this plan since 2015, with the adoption of the TIF District. While economic development is crucial to the Village’s long-term future, the Village has also invested $500,000 in its parks in recent years under the leadership of the Village Board and our Parks Commission. This investment ensures our assets along the river can continue to be enjoyed by our residents and visitors.
