Nestled within the beautiful surrounds of Northern Illinois and divided by the meandering Nippersink Creek, Spring Grove is one of the fastest growing municipalities in McHenry County. The Village’s current population is 5,487. Years of careful planning have rewarded the Village with an increase in both commercial and light industrial development. Increased residential developments have provided the Village with a high-quality selection of housing.

Spring Grove is proud to be the home of the Annual Fourth of July Celebration. This celebration kicks off at noon with a parade and ends with a fireworks display in the evening. People attend both events from surrounding communities and states.

The Community Engagement committee was created in 2020 to promote resident involvement, engagement, and fellowship within the village by providing affordable and informal community events. These events include the Farmers Market, Kick Off to Summer, Craft Beer Festival, Oktoberfest, Trunk or Treat and Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Village operates under a Village form of government. The elected officials consist of a President and six Trustees. All are elected to four-year terms. These officials are elected at-large, which is what makes

Spring Grove a village rather than a city. The Municipal Centre is located at 7401 Meyer Rd. and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Services offered at the Municipal Centre include building permits, notary, vehicle stickers, voters registration, and general information. The Village meets two times a month on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Centre located at 7401 Meyer Rd.. All Meetings are open to the public.
