2025 Formula 1 Preview: Hamilton’s new chapter with Ferrari

Start your engines, race fans — Formula One is officially back for its 75th season, kicking things off Thursday to Sunday, March 13-16, with the 2025 Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit in Albert Park, Australia, with all practices, qualifying and race-day action broadcast live on TSN.

The 2025 Formula 1 season is set to be one of the more exciting seasons in recent memory, with major driver transfers, team changes and engineering achievements. However, the biggest story of the off-season remains Lewis Hamilton’s historic move from Mercedes to Scuderia Ferrari, where he hopes to achieve a record-breaking eighth world driver championship.

Winning six world championships in 12 seasons with Mercedes, Hamilton’s decision to move on wasn’t just an overnight thought, but rather a lifelong dream now fulfilled. Speaking to reporters at the F1 75 launch event in London on Feb. 18, Hamilton spoke about his excitement and desire to continue his F1 journey in the SF-25 car.

“I’ve been waiting such a long time for it, so firing up the car, it’s like such a new, uncharted

journey, and it’s the most exciting thing that’s happened to me for as long as I can remember,”

Hamilton said. “It’s nothing like the car I had before over the last 10, 12, 17 years. It’s unique, and to feel the vibration of a Ferrari engine for the first time, that’s what I think ultimately put the biggest smile on my face.”

Aiming to end his world championship drought, fans can expect Lewis Hamilton, new teammate Charles Leclerc and Ferrari’s engineering team to work closely as the team looks to make big strides this season after a 2024 season that saw Ferrari finish second place in the constructor standings.

Hail to the chief inspector: Uzo Aduba stars in Shondaland White House mystery series

Shonda Rhimes is back in the White House.

After the success of her hit political drama “Scandal” and her stately English period romance series “Bridgerton,” Shonda Rhimes and her prolific team are tackling a new project — and this one is taking some cues from famed mystery author Agatha Christie. “The Residence,” a new, eight-episode locked-room murder mystery set in the White House, premieres Thursday, March 20, on Netflix.

While the series falls neatly under the Shondaland banner, which also includes the two aforementioned series as well as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Station 19,” “Inventing Anna” and more, “The Residence” is created and helmed by “Scandal” staff writer and “For the People” creator Paul William Davies.

Excited for the release of his new series starring Uzo Aduba (“Orange Is the New Black”), Davies told Netflix’s news site, Tudum, that “’The Residence’ is honestly a lot of things. It’s funny, it’s suspenseful, it’s clever, it’s totally farcical in places, it’s genuinely romantic in others.”

Regarding the series’ plot and overall vibe, “The Residence” channels the Christie-era murder mystery and its recent descendants, such as Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” (2019) and “Glass Onion” (2022) films, as well as the Hulu/Disney+ sensation “Only Murders in the Building.”

Insofar as the official logline is concerned, Shondaland and Netflix have offered the following description: “132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous state dinner. ‘The Residence’ is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs

and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion.”

Aduba shines in the lead role as consulting detective Cordelia Cupp, who is as awkward as she is intelligent — which is to say, very. Referred to by Netflix as “the most sought-after investigator in the world,” Cupp is “known for her unexpected humor, relentless pursuit of truth and sharp eye for human behavior.” It bears noting that Cupp is also an avid birder, demonstrating unmatched patience to accompany her keen attention to detail.

Joining the “Mrs. America” actress on screen is, as Aduba puts it, “an amazing group of phenomenally talented, good, good, good human beings who are generous, thoughtful, fun, gifted, talented [and] just awesome.

“It was straight jams every day with our cast,” Aduba later added. “We loved coming to work every day.”

More specifically, Aduba shares her screen time with “Fresh Off the Boat” and “WandaVision’s” Randall Park, who plays skeptical FBI agent Edwin Park. Agent Park is assigned to work the state dinner alongside Cupp, but does not exactly jive with her methods. All told, however, the pair’s conflicting views work wonders to balance each other’s biases throughout the series.

Additionally, potential viewers learned very early in the show’s marketing that Giancarlo Esposito’s (“Breaking Bad”) character, White House chief usher A.B. Wynter, is the reason for the plot. The victim whose death kickstarts the series, the role was originally tied to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actor Andre Braugher, but was recast following

the actor’s sudden death in December 2023 (the series has been in production since 2022 and was postponed due to the industry strike).

“I couldn’t be prouder and more honored to be stepping into Shondaland’s ‘The Residence’ for someone that I loved

and respected and cherished,” said Esposito of Braugher following the recasting. “To be afforded the opportunity to create in his honor with this incredible team extends the depth and breadth of his legacy through all of us who loved him so dearly.”

Q: I know that Jeff Probst has been the host of “Survivor” from the beginning. How did he get the job?

A: According to Jeff Probst, he lobbied executive producer Mark Burnett (“Shark Tank”) hard for the spot once he learned the CBS reality-competition series was in the works.

As it turned out, Burnett already was aware of Probst from the latter’s work with the syndicated prpgram “Access Hollywood,” and the producer liked the fact that Probst wasn’t so widely known that he might override the “Survivor” concept as being the show’s “star.”

When “Survivor” made its debut as a summer entry in 2000, it rapidly confirmed Probst’s belief that it would be a hit. He and the contestants became immediate celebrities, and he became synonymous with the series, associated with such “Survivor” traditions as immunity challenges and the Tribal Council. He has earned four Primetime Emmy Awards to date for the program, and his popularity from it opened him up to additional career opportunities. He wrote and directed the 2001 movie “Finder’s Fee,” a melodrama that included Ryan Reynolds (“Deadpool,” 2016) and James Earl Jones (“Field of Dreams,” 1989) in its cast. He also directed the 2014 drama “Kiss Me,” with Emily Osment (“Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage”), Jenna Fischer (“The Office”), John Corbett (“My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” 2002), Rita Wilson (“Asteroid City,” 2023) and Steven Weber (“Wings”) among its stars. During the 2012-13 television season, Probst had his own syndicated weekday talk show, and he has guest-starred on series including CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” and “Two and a Half Men,” Fox’s “Family Guy” and NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” He also co-wrote (with Christopher Tebbetts) two three-novel “Stranded” series that used “Survivor”-ish themes in telling the saga of several shipwrecked youths on a South Pacific island.

“Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures”Season 2, Part 2 (March 19)

“Inside” - Season 2 (March 17)

Content creators take on a series of challenges to win a huge cash prize in this reality series from viral British YouTubers, the Sidemen.

Set during the High Republic era, this computer-animated Disney Junior series follows a group of Jedi younglings as they are sent by Master Yoda (Piotr Michael) to train at a Jedi temple on Tenoo, where they study the ways of the Force. As they learn about their powers and the responsibilities that they hold, the young Jedis — including Kai Brightstar (JeCobi Swain), Lys Solay (Juliet Donenfeld) and Nubs (Dee Bradley Baker) — explore the galaxy and help citizens and creatures in need as they learn the many valuable skills needed to wield the Force along the way.

Jack McBrayer

Q: I was at the gym and saw a show where Kenneth the Page from “30 Rock” was touring weird houses. At first, I thought it was just a guest spot, but he was in multiple episodes. What was it? Is that what he’s doing now?

A: That wasn’t just a guest spot. That was Jack McBrayer — best known, indeed, for playing Kenneth on “30 Rock” from 2006 to 2013 — hosting the HGTV reality show “Zillow Gone Wild,” in which he “tours some of America’s wackiest and wildest homes that have recently

been on the real estate market” (per HGTV)

And yes, that is what he’s doing now, in the sense that it’s still going on, and also in the sense that, in general, he just pops up in random stuff you don’t expect.

Last year, for example, he had a supporting role in the comedy film “Unfrosted,” about the history of the Pop-Tart, as well as an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy.”

He also showed up, as himself, in an episode of TBS’s “Stupid Pet Tricks” and the year before as a guest judge on the foodbased reality show “The Big

OF ZILLOW GONE WILD ON HGTV

Nailed It Baking Challenge.”

He’s been supplementing that with a lot of voice work, both for children’s shows such as Disney Junior’s “Eureka” and for grown-up shows such as “Star Trek: Lower Decks”

But “Zillow Gone Wild” is his biggest recent project — a series based on a viraly popular social media account created by real estate listings company Zillow. It showcases the weirder properties they come across.

He’s hosted one season so far, but it was a pretty big hit for HGTV and was renewed for a second season, to air later this year.

Q: What is Ted Levine doing now? I’ve kind of lost sight of him since “Monk.”

A: Ted Levine is a tricky guy to keep track of.

If you saw him in “Silence of the Lambs” (1991) playing ultra-creepy serial killer Buffalo Bill, you might expect to see him in something similar next. Nope. Try the martial arts flick “Nowhere to Run” (1993) with Jean-Claude Van Damme (“Kickboxer,” 1989) instead, where he played a corrupt housing developer’s henchman. Or wait a while and catch him as the strait-laced Capt. Stottlemeyer on the cozy mystery hit “Monk” (2002 to 2009 on USA Network). Not a lot of people are fans of all three of those titles.

Fewer still would also be fans of “Mayfair Witches,” the AMC supernatural fantasy series in which Levine has most recently been plying his trade. He appeared in the most recent season, playing Julien Mayfair, a patriarch of the Mayfair family of witches — a character who is somehow as different from his “Silence of the Lambs” part as he is from his “Monk” part.

Levine also just finished work on the film “Starbright,” an adventure about a woman who finds the secret to making wishes come true. That one is due out in April.

Together, artists and industry professionals alike join to celebrate the most-played musicians and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2024 — and offer fans at home a peek of what’s to come in 2025 — during the 12th annual presentation of the iHeartRadio Music Awards, broadcasting live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Monday, March 17, on Fox.

In a show featuring thrilling live performances, exciting guests and surprise collaborations, iHeartRadio offers fans the opportunity to acknowledge winners throughout a wide array of genres and categories, including Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and World Artist of the Year; and fan-voted categories such as Favorite Soundtrack, Favorite Broadway Debut, Favorite K-pop Dance Challenge, Favorite Surprise Guest, Favorite Tour Tradition, Best Lyrics and more.

radio stations across the country, Lady Gaga will also attend the night’s event, being presented with the 2025 iHeartRadio Innovator Award.

“Beyond creating music and performances that have inspired the world, Lady Gaga is an outspoken activist, philanthropist and supporter of many important issues including mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, HIV/ AIDS awareness and body image issues,” a statement given by iHeartRadio reads.

This year, “Espresso” singer Sabrina Carpenter and, keeping with tradition, superstar Taylor Swift (“The Tortured Poets Department”) lead with a whopping nine nominations each across all categories. Swift will certainly be in attendance — and will grace the stage — as her worldwide, years-spanning Eras Tour will be recognized as “Tour of the Century.”

Following closely behind these powerhouse pop singers are Kendrick Lamar (“Not Like Us”), Post Malone (“I Had Some Help”) and Morgan Wallen (“Cowgirls”), who earned themselves seven, six and five nominations, respectively. While her new song “Abracadabra” rocks

Additionally, singer, songwriter and producer Mariah Carey (“Fantasy”) will be honored with the 2025 iHeartRadio Icon Award, as she remains one of the bestselling artists of all time with over 200 million records sold worldwide and 19 No. 1 singles (per iHeartRadio).

While celebrating many of our favorite artists, this year’s event will also pay tribute to the resiliency of Los Angeles, as its communities rebuild following January’s devastating wildfires. iHeartRadio has teamed up with the Annenberg Foundation, making it known that all contributions made to FireAidLA.org will be distributed to nearby communities in both short- and long-term initiatives.
