‘The Breath of God’

Medium opens the door to windows’ past Last month I provided a brief intro to our friend Gaye Miller, a well-known medium who visited the Post House Ballroom to investigate our 100-plus-year-old windows, which were donated to provide protection to our bar for our bartenders and patrons. As we watched, Gaye interacted with the past – she told the story of the windows. They were made by a gentleman from Europe, who came to this area to work. He was a carpenter, a slender tall man – possibly Amish. He tells Gaye that the windows came from a church not from this area and later installed in a home. Gaye continued to have a conversation with the gentlemen and later we found out the angel in the glass is actually the “Breath of God.” I always felt Lee County Council on Aging was blessed, but now we are truly blessed. For those of you who believe Gaye Miller investigated the historical and for those who do not, I want to feel windows that where donated to shield the that God is always present, whether in bar at the Post House Ballroom, due to antique windows or in every living Covid-19. thing. It is just a little story that reassures us that the past and the present is always intertwining. Thank you, Gaye, for giving us a little hope during this pandemic that God is still watching over us.

Help us fill the time capsule! Pictured here are two great items to not only commemorate our Post House Ballroom for future generations seeing the types of events that were held here, but also a little piece of history to look back on: the flier for the celebration of the Ronald Reagan dance (a portion of the flier pictured here) and a newspaper clipping from 2002.
