Born: November 16, 1924 in Normal, IL Died: July 16, 2022 in Prophetstown, IL

Patricia A. Gorzny passed away July 22, 2022, at Allure of Prophetstown at the age of 80. She was born in Chadwick, IL, the daughter of Edward and Lucille (Armstrong) Loechel. Pat attended Chadwick and Lyndon elementary schools, eventually graduating from Lyndon High School. She worked several years as a Nurses’ Aide for Morrison Community Hospital. Pat enjoyed reading and playing computer games. She loved animals of every description, especially her dogs and cats, horses and deer.

Born: February 14, 1956 in Moline, IL Died: July 22, 2022 in East Moline, IL Joy Lu (Skelton) Clouw, 66, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, 202 N. Main, Port Byron. Visitation will be from 2 -5 pm on Sunday, July 31st at the funeral home. Born: May 17, 1937 in Geneseo, IL Died: July 20, 2022 in Bettendorf, IA MARILYN JONES, 85, of The Fountains in Bettendorf, IA died on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at The Fountains in Bettendorf. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown, IL, with Pastor Joey, pastor of Prophetstown United Methodist Church officiating. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday July 31, 2022, at Prophet Hills Country Club in Prophetstown. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to the

others. She worked for Trinity Visiting Nurses for 32 years, and later retired as Executive Assistant to the President in administration in 2014. Over the years she took in and fostered 11 different individuals of all ages, helping them in their time of need. She lived her name and left a legacy of Joy. Joy loved to shop and collected glassware, shoes and purses. She also enjoyed decorating her home and helping others decorate. Survivors include her husband of over 22 years, John Clouw; favorite son, Jacob VanDeHeede, Moline; mother, Beverley Skelton, Port Byron; brother Mike (Marla) Skelton, Port Byron; sisters, Jill (Dale) Hofstetter, O’Fallon, MO, Judy (Walt) Hamm, Port Byron; sister-in-law, Jane Taylor; brother-in-law, Steve (Heather) Clouw; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne; brothers-in-law, Mike and David Clouw and special friend, Lennie DeBoard. She was a graduate of Geneseo High School and later attended Iowa State University. She married Aylsworth “Bud” Jones on September 28, 1957, in Geneseo. He died October 27, 2006. Marilyn raised her children while working on the family farm. She was a member of the Former First Congregational Church in Prophetstown. Marilyn enjoyed being active, whether it was traveling, bicycling, walking or sewing. Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Steve) Miller of Davenport, IA; one son, Stan (Kristin) Jones of Washington, IA; four grandchildren, Amanda (Cooper) SantAmour and Craig Miller, Cody and Ryan Jones. Born: February 3, 1947 in Geneseo, IL Died: July 18, 2022 in Morrison, IL SHIRLEY B. TEGELER, 75, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, July 18, 2022 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, officiated by Rev. Peter Kicheon Ahn, pastor of Fenton United Methodist Church. A luncheon will be held at the Fenton United Methodist Church after the memorial service. There will be a memorial visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22nd at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. A memorial will be established by the family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Shirley Ricketts, brother Stanley Loechel and husband Larry Gorzny. Shirley first worked for the Chicago Board of Trade, then as a secretary for the steel mill and Tegeler Equipment, until becoming a fulltime mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church and served on their board. She also served on the Auxiliary Board at Resthave Home in Morrison. Shirley liked to entertain friends and family in her home, and she enjoyed traveling. She had gone on a number of overseas trips. She also loved visiting her daughters and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Arlyn; three daughters, Nicole (Carol Hudgins) Tegeler of Tampa, FL; Tori (Jeremy) Brandow of Champaign, IL, and Libby Tegeler of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Jacob and Jaden Tegeler-Hudgins; Oliver and Miles Brandow; one sister, Gloria (Richard) Morris of Arlington Heights, IL; two brothers, Kenneth (Mary) Newlon of Sterling, IL and Richard (Dottie) Newlon of Atlanta, GA.
