McLOUD – After an 0-10 season in 2019, the McLoud Redskins may have found the right recipe to remedy those woes in 2020. First of all, McLoud is dropping down from Class 4A to 3A. Secondly, the Redskins return seven VWDUWHUV RQ R̆HQVH DQG nine on defense for sixth-year head coach Rusty Hall. “I’m excited about the season. SEMINOLE — Oklahoma’s High School coaching guru can look to both the present and the future entering the 2020 campaign. Mike Snyder, embarking on his 41st year at the Seminole helm, has missed just WKUHH SOD\R̆V If Snyder continues that postseason success in 2020, it will be largely attributed to a heavy contribution from some of his younger performers. “Our sophomore group is really large, as is our freshmen class,” Snyder said. “Almost half of our squad or more will be freshmen and sophomores.” A look at the roster shows 26 sophomores and 19 freshmen, which would comprise 70.3 percent of the 64-member squad. Gone from last year’s squad is explosive tailback Cameron Gunville, who had been a starter since his freshman year. He is a typical Seminole quarterback who can throw the ball in-between people and up top.” The primary receiver will be senior Easton Wurtz, a three-year starter. In 2019, Wurtz posted 400 receiving yards, including four touchdowns. “Easton is one of the better receivers around,” Snyder said. “He is strong and he can run. Hedge enters second year at Prague helm 2020 PRAGUE RED DEVILS Football Roster

By Fred Fehr Contributing Writer

PRAGUE — Mike Hedge knew his initial Prague squad of 2019 would experience some big-time growing pains. Of the listed 28-player squad, six were freshmen and 12 were sophomores. After posting a 3-7 campaign, Hedge’s second squad, though still youthful, is hoping for better results. The Red Devils have only two seniors on the 2020 roster in running back/defensive back Tyler Carpenter and lineman Zachory Grooms. Carpenter VX̆HUHG D EURNHQ OHJ RQ KLV ¿UVW FDUU\ RI WKH 2019 opener. The offensive line has become bigger and deeper. A good example is Dex McKee, who has transformed from a 170-pound freshman to 215-pound sophomore. “Dex had an unbelievable growth spurt,â€? Hedge said. “â€?He’s gotten much bigger this summer.â€? Caden Simek and Alex Tapia can be counted on as centers. Other offensive line prospects include Conner Cline, Conner Davis, Kevin Cash and Grooms.

DEFENSE

The Red Devils appear solid at inside linebacker with returning starters Grooms, McKee and McGinnis. Solid also applies to sophomore defensive tackle Karson Holsapple, who started every game last year as a freshman. “Karson is a big, strong kid, Hedge said. “We can’t block him. Conner Davis will also be a vital force at defensive tackle.
