When Margaret Tyson received Shaw’s first-ever honorary bachelor’s degree, her daughter Ms. Sharon Lewis said: “It’s wonderful to see my mother receive this well-deserved recognition after so long. She has overcome so much, and never let it deter her from her goals. She’d been told she’d never walk, or marry, or drive, or get a job.
