I DREW THIS WHEN I WAS FOUR (2022) CREATING A PROMOTIONAL POSTER SERIES
This is a poster series that I designed for my university’s senior show exhibit that my work is displayed in. I came up with a concept to use drawings from when I was four, which is intended to motivate the viewer to acknowledge the passage of time from a young child’s drawings to a university senior’s refined graphic design exhibit, the final step before creating things for “The Real World”. I photographed the drawings, edited them in Adobe Photoshop, and layed out the poster composition with the required copy in Adobe InDesign. The series is comprised of five different posters, showcasing various drawings and set in bright solid background colors.

HOT MAGMA! (2021)
CREATING A MUSIC FESTIVAL WEBSITE For this project I created a music festival concept and a website for it. The festival I created is called HOT MAGMA! and it takes place in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, HI. For the lineup, I curated a selection of artists that would appeal to the targeted demographic. The festival site has an information section that provides some context on the festival and its story, a lineup page with artist photos and names, individual artist pages, a ticket section, a news section with relevant news stories, individual news pages, and a mailing list. Through the use of HTML/CSS/JS, I added motion to the site. There are several marquees with relevant links that automatically and infinitely scroll across the screen. The 3D rendered logo I made with Adobe Illustrator tilts when the cursor hovers over it, and there’s an automatic looping slideshow of thematic photographs on the home page.

LESS IS MORE (2021)
CREATING AN ART EXHIBIT MINI-SITE LESS IS MORE is the fictional art exhibit that I created with this project. I was assigned to visit both the RISD Museum in Providence Rhode Island and the extensive collection on the RISD Museum website, and then select 10 works to comprise a thematic art exhibit that I would create a functional WordPress mini-site for. For my exhibit, LESS IS MORE, I selected 10 examples of mid-century modern chairs. I created a logo and various graphic assets in Adobe Illustrator. I created a GIF for the home page in Adobe Photoshop. I developed the site’s user flow, page compositions, and visual identity in Adobe XD. I created a prototype site with HTML/CSS/JS and then used PHP to generate a custom WordPress theme, allowing the site to be flexible to any changes/additions to the content.

ONOLICIOUS (2021)
CREATING A VISUAL IDENTITY FOR HAWAIIAN CUISINE Onolicious was a collaborative project with a culinary team at my school. The culinary team was tasked with coming up with a restaurant pop-up concept and developing the menu items. My job was to create a logo, visual identity/branding, a physical menu, a digital menu, and a QR code to give customers access to the digital menu. The culinary team’s mission was to bring the diverse Hawaiian culture to Providence Rhode Island by establishing a “fast casual” pop-up that sticks true to Hawaiian culture. I used Adobe Illustrator to create a logo, allergen icons, and various graphic assets. I used Adobe Indesign to layout both the physical and digital menus.

PURELAUNDRY (2021)
– Adobe Illustrator – Adobe XD – HTML/CSS/JS
CREATING A LAUNDROMAT KIOSK INTERFACE This project tasked me with designing a digital kiosk interface. I chose to design an interface that would be used on tablet screens at a laundromat to place drop-off orders. I named this laundromat PureLaundry and created the logo with Adobe Illustrator. This kiosk allows the laundromat’s customers to sign in as a returning user or create an account, select details about their laundry drop-off order, choose a pick up day, and add payment for their order. I used Adobe XD to develop the kiosk’s user flow, page compositions, and visual identity before coding a functional prototype with HTML/CSS/JS.

THE WEATHER WEASEL (2021)
– Adobe Illustrator – Adobe Photoshop – Adobe XD – HTML/CSS/JS/jQuery
CREATING A WEATHER APP DESIGN FOR KIDS
For this project I coded a prototype kid’s weather app, The Weather Weasel, that displays accurate and live weather data. I decided to adopt a mascot character for the app, a weasel that I illustrated by hand and edited with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Accompanying the weasel illustration are a series of illustrative icons to signify various weather conditions. My goal with this project was to design a weather app that would be fun, easy-to-use, and kid-friendly. I developed the site’s user flow, page compositions, and visual identity in Adobe XD. I coded the dynamic app prototype with HTML/CSS/JS/jQuery and used OpenWeather API to fetch the app’s live weather data.

SYSTÈME DE TEMPS (2021)
CREATING A TIME MANAGEMENT APP DESIGN SYSTÈME de TEMPS is a prototype time management app that I designed to suit the needs of a fellow student whom I interviewed. This app allows users to plan their time by assigning activities to their schedule and checking them off once they are completed. This will give users a sense of accomplishment, being able to satisfyingly color in the activities they complete. Users can move through an onboarding process by creating an account or signing in to an existing account. Users can select one of the provided activities to add to their schedule or they can name their own activity and select a unique icon to represent it. Users can view their schedule by day or week views. Users can configure app settings, including selecting the interface’s accent color. User’s can earn medals along the way and view their stats, motivating them to work on their time management skills. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo, and Adobe XD to develop the site’s user flow, page compositions, and visual identity.

RUHBER™ (2020)
– Adobe Illustrator – Adobe Photoshop – Adobe XD – HTML/CSS/JS
CREATING A BRAND AND WEBSTORE This project tasked me with going to a dollar store, purchasing a cheap product, creating a brand for the product, and designing a single-page retail site for it. The product I chose was rubber bands. I named the company RUHBER™ and used Adobe Illustrator to create a logo. I used Adobe XD to develop the site’s design and layout, and later used HTML/CSS/JS to create a coded prototype of the site. To fully flesh out my concept for this brand, I photographed various uses for rubber bands. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit the photos to match the visual identity of the brand.

YAWN MAGAZINE (2019)
– Adobe Illustrator – Adobe Photoshop – Adobe Indesign
When I was assigned to create my own mini-zine using Adobe InDesign, I immediately knew to focus it around my clothing brand, YAWN. I used this as an opportunity to showcase my illustrations, inserting them onto multiple pages as well as making up the cover. I interviewed myself, showcased my clothing designs in a fictional “seasonal preview”, created an advertisement for my friend’s clothing brand, created a required advertisement for Johnson & Wales University, and wrote a researched article about the effect the fashion industry has on our environment. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit my hand illustrations, Adobe Illustrator to create the logo/masthead, and Adobe Indesign to create the zine’s layout and composition.

MORT MODERN (2019)
CREATING A TYPE SPECIMEN BOOK Assigned to create a type specimen book using Adobe InDesign, I chose Riley Cran’s Mort Modern. I found Mort Modern’s variety of styles and playful nature to be captivating and knew that I would have fun creating a book about it. My type book showcases all aspects of the typeface including its weights and styles, letters and numbers, anatomy, and inspiration. To fully realize the visual theme I wanted to set the book in, I used Adobe Illustrator to create various graphic assets.

JAY DEE A.K.A. KING DILLA (2019)
CREATING AN ALBUM COVER AND PROMOTIONAL POSTERS When I was assigned to redesign an album cover and create two posters for a musical artist using Adobe Photoshop, I was lucky to be assigned the late J Dilla; an artist that I am already a huge fan of. I needed to create a poster promoting the song 651, a poster promoting a fictional tour for the album Jay Dee A.K.A. King Dilla, and new cover artwork for the album. I looked to the artist for inspiration and took the two things he’s best known for; his use of records and the AKAI MPC 3000 drum machine. I recreated the drum machine using Adobe Photoshop and prominently featured it on the album cover and the tour poster for that album.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! (2019)
CREATING AN ALBUM COVER AND PROMOTIONAL POSTERS Given the task of using Adobe Illustrator to create a card and matching wrapping paper for a holiday of my choice, I immediately knew I wanted to choose Halloween. Halloween seemed to me like one of the least obvious choices, as I don’t think Halloween cards and wrapping paper are common. This allowed me to create something entirely new, something that’s not held to any standards or expectations. I created a pattern of Halloween-themed characters for the wrapping paper and used them on the card along with themed colors and imagery.
