Camberley C amberley Theatre and Conference Centre Saturday 8th April Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era
Tuesday 11th April Jon Moses “Journey”
Wednesday 12th April Richard Herring - The Best
Lights soften, the mood settles. An audience waits for that first moment of sound. The Big Band is poised, relaxed, but with eyes anxious for the lead. And then, as if giving body to an echo, the murmured notes of ‘Moonlight Serenade’…and the night, it seems, is suddenly full and timeless.
Jon Moses was a finalist on ITV’s Superstar, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s search for his leading man in Jesus Christ Superstar. Jon performed for millions of viewers and had the pleasure of working with Mel C, Amanda Holden, Jason Donovan and Dawn French.
Richard Herring, King of the Edinburgh Fringe, ‘Metro’ columnist and the UK’s Podfather picks his favourite routines from his 12 oneman shows and crams them into 90 minutes for your delectation. From his deconstruction of the genealogy of Christ to him proving that racists are less racist than liberals. Will your favourite routine make the cut? A great introduction to this influential cult comedian for the newcomer and a welcome greatest hits for long term fans.
There are those who watch and listen who tap a shy finger to the melodies, others who follow with a silent foot-beat, still others who murmur softly through the lyrics, and those who simply permit a fleeting smile. But common to all are memories. Recapture the sounds of a bygone era as the Nick Ross Orchestra presents ‘an unmissable evening of music and song’ – the Classic Big Band Sound of the 1940s.
Since the show, Jon has been in high demand touring prestigious venues worldwide, including London’s O2 Arena. “Journey” is the story of Jon’s life so far and covers songs from a range of genres, including musical theatre, pop, rock and classical. This is a show for everyone to enjoy and a show not to be missed!
“A gloriously infantile delight in mischief, provocation and inspired rudeness” The Guardian.

Saturday 3rd June Supreme Queen Supreme Queen have been paying homage to the world’s most theatrical and dramatic rock band since 1995. Front man, Scott Maley plays a uncannily realistic ‘Freddy’ with just the right look, stage persona and, most importantly of all, the most incredibly powerful voice.
Once again Captain Buckley and his troupe of wizened alcho-minstrels emerge from the 1920’s time capsule to unleash musical mayhem for your entertainment. The Temperance Seven began their quest to promote all things British - cricket, steam trains, real ale and jazz music. They came to the attention of Sir George Martin, who was intrigued by the prospect of getting their eccentric sound recorded, Sir George cleverly placed them around one microphone in an attempt to simulate a recording from the 1920’s. Not only did this recording prove to be successful but the resultant “You, You’re Driving Me Crazy”, in 1961, gave Sir George his first number one hit.
Featuring an enormously talented band including Nathan Mathers who brings all the electric guitar virtuosity required to play a very convincing Brian May, their attention to detail is truly impressive. “I got the fright of my life when I saw Freddie, backstage, he looked just like the real thing. He went on stage and he gave a blistering performance winding the crowd up song by song. Nice one” Janice Long – BBC Radio 2

‘Psychoacoustic’ explores body and brain responses to sound, movement and the environments around us through the collaborative force of science, music and dance. Working in tandem with a team of neuroscientists from the Cognitive Neuroscience Research Unit at City University; we are interested in creating changing environments to test the limits of theatre as an emotional tool. With the inception of Jack Philp Company in 2014, we have continually aimed to collaboratively merge and learn from different mediums, ‘Psychoacoustic’ is science doing dance and dance doing science. Something physical, something tested and something seen and heard.
Tuesday 13th June Graeme of Thrones In this criticallyacclaimed theatrical journey through the Seven Kingdoms, avid ‘Thrones’ fan Graeme just wants to recreate his favourite fantasy saga on stage. He doesn’t quite have the same budget as the TV show, or as many cast members, or the performance skills required, but he’s sure George RR Martin would approve – and that’s what matters. Having started life in London’s West End, the show has since been seen around the world with sold out shows in Australia, Canada and the USA. Created by a team of some of the UK’s top comedy writers, Graeme Of Thrones is an original and un-authorized parody on the international phenomenon that is Game Of Thrones. A treat for fans and an introduction for the unenlightened. Age recommendation for the show is 16+.

The story has been told before, but never like this. An occupied desert nation. A radical from the wilderness on hunger strike. A girl whose mysterious dance will change the course of the world.
A great evening of nostalgia taking you back to the Swinging Sixties.

This charged retelling turns the infamous biblical tale on its head, placing the girl we call Salomé at the centre of a revolution.

The incredible Billie Piper (‘Penny Dreadful’, ‘Great Britain’) returns in her Evening Standard Best Actress award-winning role. A young woman is driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child in Simon Stone’s radical production of Lorca’s achingly powerful masterpiece. The unmissable theatre phenomenon sold out at the Young Vic and critics call it ‘an extraordinary theatrical triumph’ (The Times) and ‘stunning, searing, unmissable’ (Mail on Sunday). Billie Piper’s lead performance is described as ‘spellbinding’ (The Evening Standard), and ‘devastatingly powerful’ (The Daily Telegraph). Set in contemporary London, Piper’s portrayal of a woman in her thirties desperate to conceive builds with elemental force to a staggering, shocking, climax. Please note that this broadcast does not have an interval.
The Edwin Starr Band featuring Angelo Starr & special guest Lorraine Silver Edwin Starr’s original 8 piece band the team who backed Edwin on all his shows are still intact, and now feature Edwin’s brother Angelo on vocals. The decay of Rome reaches violent depths in Shakespeare’s most bloody play.
Celebrating 40 years since their debut single ‘You to Me Are Everything’ reaching No.1
Titus is a ruler exhausted by war and loss, who relinquishes power but leaves Rome in disorder. Rape, cannibalism and severed body parts fill the moral void at the heart of this corrupt society. Shakespeare’s gory revenge tragedy presents us with murder as entertainment, and, as the body count piles up, poses questions about the nature of sexuality, family, class and society. Blanche McIntyre returns to the RSC after her debut directing The Two Noble Kinsmen (2016).
Still looking and sounding great! The 3 original singers, brothers Chris & Eddie Amoo with Dave Smith.
