Follow the popular and peaceful canal towpath looking for wildlife along the way. Meet outside Frimley Lodge Café, Frimley Lodge Park, GU16 6HY.

CHO B HAM PL ACE WOODS Gentle 1 hour, 2.5 miles

If you’ve not discovered this place; you’re missing out! Secluded woodland, quiet lanes and open expanses of heathland await. Meet outside Chobham Place Woods, on the junction of Windsor Road and Valley End Road.

AS H VA L E - R I VER AND CA N AL N ORTH/S OUTH Moderate 2.5 Hours, 7 Miles

A circular walk from Ash Vale along the Blackwater River Path, including a refreshment break. Meet outside main entrance (ticket office) of North Camp railway station, Aldershot GU12 5QA. There is free on road parking near the station.

BAG S HOT Moderate 1 hour, 2.5 miles

Join us for a gentle walk along charming lanes and woodland behind Bagshot. There are a few trees to cross on this route. Meet in Bagshot Playing Field Association Car Park GU19 5EN, but please park along College Ride.

B L ACKWATER PARK Moderate 2.5 hours, 8 miles

Following the winding Blackwater Valley Path from the Meadows to Horseshoe Lake, you’ll be grateful of the refreshment stop at a local pub along the way! Meet in Blackwater Station Car Park GU17 9AB.

CHAL K FA RM L AK E Moderate 2.5 hours, 7 miles

A pleasant, circular and flat walk along the Basingstoke Canal and Blackwater River paths with a refreshment stop at Ash Vale Wharf. Chalk Farm Lake free car park is off Camp Farm Road, next to Lock Road, Aldershot, GU11 2PE.

HAWLEY LA KE

Hidden away on the outskirts of the Borough but well worth a visit! Wandering along man made tracks, through trees and circling the lake, you won’t just visit the once! Meet opposite the entrance to Hawley Lake Sailing Club, (near The Crown and Cushion pub). New walkers please contact contact.centre@ surreyheath.gov.uk because the meeting point for this walk may change.

LIGHTWATE R COU NTRY PA RK Moderate 1 hour, 2.5 miles

Walk through the varied landscape of this breathtaking Country Park and beyond. Lots to see and explore; you’ll never get bored of the scenery. Meet at the Café, GU18 5RG.

MYTC HETT RA NGES Moderate 1.5 hours, 3.75 miles

The moderate climb to the top of the ranges will all be worth it when you see the view! Meet outside Frimley Lodge Café, Frimley Lodge Park, GU16 6HY.

P IRBRIGHT GRE E N WA LK Moderate 2.5 hours, 7 miles

A varied flat walk from Pirbright village to the Basingstoke canal and back with a refreshment break on route. Park in the free carpark on the green. GU24 0JE.

WILDMOOR HEATH Moderate 2 hours, 6 miles

Enjoy a choice of walks through heathland, meadow and woodland taking in Wildmoor Heath, the Devil’s Highway and Broadmoor before stopping for coffee. There are 3 stiles on this walk Meet at Wildmoor Heath Car Park, RG45 7PP.

BAGSHOT TO THE LOOKOUT

Challenging 2.5 hours, 5 miles

An hour’s trek through Swinley Forest to The Lookout for refreshments before the return journey. Meet outside St. Anne’s Church, Bagshot, GU19 5EQ.

FR IMLEY FU E L A LLOTME N TS Challenging 1.25 hours, 3 miles

A walk alongside a golf course and through woodland with two relatively long steep ascents and one steep descent. Meeting at Pine Ridge Golf Club car park (Old Bisley Road, Frimley, Camberley GU16 9NX). Park in the overflow area at the far end of the car park.

H O R SESH O E LA KE TO EVE R SLEY Challenging 2.5 hours, 6 miles

This walk will explore a different section of the Blackwater Valley Path including a refreshment stop. With a choice of routes to be decided on the day, there’ll be something new to see each time. Meet at Horseshoe Lake, Mill Lane, Sandhurst, GU47 8JW.

O LD DEA N COMMO N Moderate 1.25 hours, 3 miles

The Old Dean Common is a vast natural heathland tucked away, to be enjoyed only by those lucky enough to know about it. With views across Bracknell and Camberley this is a great new addition! Meet at Old Dean Bowls Club, GU15 4BD.

FA IR OA KS A IR P O RT Gentle 1.5 hours, 3 miles

This circular walk incorporates both ends of the Fairoaks Airport runway but is to be enjoyed by walkers as well as plane lovers. Meet at Fairoaks Airport car park, GU24 8HU

RAMBLERS WALKING FOR HEALTH Surrey Heath Borough Council is proud to be a Ramblers Walking for Health accredited scheme provider. Walking is great exercise and a brilliant way to meet new people and explore the local area. You’ll discover things you didn’t know existed right on your doorstep! Walks vary in length and are graded for difficulty. Please choose walks which are suitable for you. All walks are supervised by trained walk leaders and will take into consideration the group’s ability and requirements Location: All walks are on or near public transport routes, but may be more easily reached by private transport. Timings: Please arrive on time so that registration can take place without delaying the walk. Equipment: All participants are responsible for bringing suitable clothing and footwear to take part safely and comfortably in the walk. Please remember tracks are often wet and muddy in the autumn and winter. Children: All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs: Dogs are not permitted on walks unless otherwise stated. Refreshments: No refreshments will be provided, but there may be an opportunity to stop for refreshments afterwards at a local venue.
