Tri-Idea Boards Semiotic reasoning „the story‟

Pre-rationalize the project to give it real inherent meaning-we called it „the story‟.  all the ideas can relate to each other  don‟t post-rationalize your design after you designed the project  tie the ideas to the region, climate, massing, context and culture  create a rich and convincible story  establish a high level of authenticity to each project

The „Charette‟ Process  Offer the „charette‟ as forum for planning the project with those who can influence design decisions.  major activity that not only involves the design team but the owners consultants and stakeholders.  Get early feedback on initial ideas-it is easier to set a course than to change it.  Kick-off the „design process‟ establish an agreement on clients project dreams and goals.  Identify your „design process‟ and philosophy  Have the clients be the designer for the day  promote „collective enthusiasm‟ for the project with early realistic goals and directions.

 Work with groups already established within the office early in the process of ideation-design from the brand out.  Have the architecture inform the brand and the brand the architecture.  Understand the relevance to the client understanding the brand identification and expansion  Keep the experience seamless from beginning to end –architecture is the brand

Architectural Critic “preeminent example of the power of architecture on business, and how the public understand and experiences a brand.”
