SPORT SCHOLARSHIPS

Sport Scholarships are awarded to pupils who demonstrate outstanding talent and passion for sport, as well as exhibiting positive character attributes and evidence of further potential.

Applicants will be requested to detail their achievements in the online application process. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment session at Shebbear College. A reference from the pupil’s current school is also requested.

Sport Scholars’ Masterclasses

Sport Scholars will have the opportunity to attend four area-specific masterclasses throughout the year, as well as being part of the Scholars’ Dinner in the Trinity Term, which celebrates the achievements of our pupils throughout the year.

Opportunities may include:

Ī Talk and Q&A with professional athletes

Ī Membership of the Elite Sports Development Programme

Ī Workshops and skills sessions with professional athletes

Ī Trip (sports match, tour of facilities etc)

Ī Leadership opportunities such as coaching or mentoring younger pupils or leading an event

Ī Regular feedback sessions with the Head of Sport and the Head

Please note that as next year will be the first year that we have run Scholars’ Masterclasses, these are examples and may be subject to change. However the schedule and type of event will remain the same.
