Board President, Mark Schuh August 2021 Chamber Update - Watch Now!

From the desk of the executive director Community Guides are now available! We have begun distribution of community guides, but if you are eager for your copy, would like a box to have onsite in your workplace or extra copies to share with your customers let us know and we will get them to you. You are also welcome to visit us at the Chamber office and pick them up. Each year Chamber leadership is invited on a team building journey or as we call Deidre Martinez it “The Amazing Race” with Chamber staff, Committee leadership, Ambassadors and our Board of Directors. This is a great way to increase cross sectional leadership, build relationships, foster new ideas and get to know our County more thoroughly. We will be exploring Plymouth in August as a group. If you are looking for ways to get involved, we have a number of opportunities available and I encourage you to share your interest. Feel free to reach out to me at deidre@sheboygan.org to learn more about what opportunities are available. – Deidre

Molly, Coastal YPN Liaison Can you believe it is August already? Time sure flies when there is nice weather and getting to experience all the fun Sheboygan had to offer in July! We ended our Intern and Co-op program this month and it feels like it just flew by. We had pop-up events every week and were able to have our interns and co-ops headshots taken. A huge thank you to Engaged Marketing Co. for sending us Tammy to take pictures for our interns who are about to hit the professional world. She was wonderful to work with. On top of the weekly events, we also had our closing party for the interns at the Sheboygan A’s Stadium to enjoy tailgating before the game and watch the game the evening of July 29th. A huge thank you to the Sheboygan A’s for allowing us to use their pavilion and being a great help with anything that we needed that evening. With the Intern and Co-op program closing, we will be returning to our normal events here in the Young Professionals Network. Our next event is a little farther out and will be Cocktails with Coastal on August 24th. We have invited the winners from Best Under 40 for a panel discussion on their accomplishments. Terry Stevenson with Seehafer Broadcasting will be hosting our discussion at Pine Hills Country Club and has acquired live music as well. Please register now to ensure you have a spot to hear the great things our winners have to say and the music that will be accompanying them.

Molly Talaska

Lastly, our texting campaign will be the main form of communication moving forward for our Coastal Young Professionals Network. If you have not already signed up to receive our texts, please see the flyer below on how to subscribe. Have a healthy and happy August!

News from THE DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Good day Chamber Nation! Welcome to August of 2021. The weather has been absolutely beautiful! Seems to be a reocurring theme when it comes to wheather month after month, and I’ll take it! As you know the Chamber Annual Golf outing is quickly approaching and there is still time to join in the fun. Although the hole sponsorships have been closed for quite some time, you can still support your Chamber by sponsoring mulligans, golf and beverage carts or join us with a foursome! The date is Wednesday September 8th in beautiful Elkhart Lake at the Quit Qui Oc Golf Club & Restaurant and I’d love to see you there! Scott Kuehn

We’ll have the golf ball launcher back and ready to go, the hole sponsors I’m sure will have something up their sleeves when it comes to fun and games, and yes, the weather will be so much better than the past couple of of years! It’s always a great time so don’t be left in the sand trap, swing away, get out and have some fun! Some things to think about as we move through 2021: • If you have not joined a Deep Dive yet, there are still openings for Deep Dive C and E. Deep Dive C meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday starting at 7:30am and Deep Dive E meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday starting at 4:00pm each month. Give me a call or email me at scott@sheboygan.org and join a family of Deep Divers today! • Roundtables are a terrific way to meet others within your business sector. Whether it’s Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Not for Profit, and others, you’re sure to learn something from your peers. These peer-to-peer networking groups can help any one of your employees, or yourself, accelerate your learning curve, and minimize potential setbacks within your organization. Our own John Rogers does an outstanding job keeping each group on task, and always shares his own wealth of knowledge. Contact john@sheboygan.org and join a Roundtable today! • Our Young Professionals network goal is to attract, engage and retain young, diverse talent to Sheboygan County by providing opportunities for young professionals to design their social culture, serve as civic innovators and community stewards, and develop into the next generation of leaders for Sheboygan County. If you are interested in joining the YP network, please contact Molly Talaska at Molly@sheboygan.org • Check out the chamber calendar at www.sheboygan.org anor just want to meet for a cup of coffee and chat. Because you know what? We are so much #BETTER TOGETHER! Make sure you mark the remainder of 2021 for all events coming up this year. It is sure to be an exciting and rewarding year! Have a terrific month, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Reintroduce your Business at the Community & Business Expo! The annual Community & Business Expo will take place on Saturday, October 30th at Sheboygan South High School. It’s a great opportunity to “re-introduce” you/your business to the community after the year we all faced with little to no community exposure. We are currently seeking business owners, start- ups, non-profits, entrepreneurs, sports and recreation organizations and community vendors to fill expo booths. This event is free to the public and will hopefully bring in more than 1,000 spectators and attendees. You do not need to be a Chamber member to have a booth. Although, cost breaks have been established for Chamber members. If you previously signed up for the Expo, please know that your booth space is secured, and you should contact the Chamber to verify your participation again this year. For more information on pricing, please contact Carol at (920) 395-8706 or carol@sheboygan.org Visit our website for booth information.
