A Letter From the President Happy March to all; I was asked to write down a few words as to what it means to me to be on the Chamber Board for the past eight years. I recently answered that question at the Annual Chamber Champions Gala last week and thought I would share my thoughts for those who could not be there this year.

I have lived and worked in other cities and communities and there is something very special about Sheboygan County! The energy and the spark I have witnessed unites us all as a community. We are truly better together and I see that every day as we support each other and each other’s organizations. The night of the Chamber Gala was a perfect example: there were so many amazing Sheboygan County Chamber members gathered together to celebrate each other accomplishments. I was in awe of the excitement and camaraderie. I am so proud to be part of the Chamber and on its board because its purpose is to continue to fuel that spark that unites us all in helping us to prosper together. In addition, I want to extend a big thank you to the chamber staff and all of the volunteers who came together to make the Gala a wonderful event for all!

Workforce Development Update One of our largest programs, supporting Workforce Development throughout Sheboygan County each year results in a 2-day program called Explore Your Future. The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of giving our high school students an opportunity to explore career options, right here in our communities. It also allows student to interface with industry experts, prior to making final decisions relating to “what do I want to be when I grow up? In collaboration with community partners, we host roughly 1,500 high school sophomores from throughout Sheboygan County, at Lakeshore Technical Colleges, Cleveland Campus over three sessions. Students will learn about themselves and their personality types, social media best practices, personal branding and then finish out their time, talking with industry professionals based on their career cluster interests. More than 100 volunteers, teachers and school counselors join us over the 3 sessions to help make this program a success year after year. Thank you to our Presenting Sponsors Van Horn Automotive, Sargento Foods and Kohler. Thank you also to our Champions sponsors, Johnsonville and Rockline Industries. Without the generosity of sponsorship, we could not make programs such as Explore Your Future a reality.

Join Coastal YPN for a morning of coffee and networking, along with an exclusive behindthe-scenes tour of the kid-centered, state of the art facility at Just Kids Dental and to hear Coastal YPN member Terry Stevenson talk to sisters Dr. Andi Igowski and Dr. Jaime Marchi about how they built their business and lessons they’ve learned along the way. A huge thank you to member Terry Stevenson for his efforts in putting together this program and all of his hard work and dedication to the Coastal Young Professional Network. Another important thank you is extended to Coffee with Coastal event sponsors, Prevea Health and Johnsonville. News from THE DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Happy March! I hope you were able to attend the Chamber Champions Gala at The Blue Harbor Resort & Conference Center, it was an incredible evening! Even though the main dining room sold out early, those who made their way into the Peninsula Room and attended the Overflow Party space had a wonderful time. The hard hors d’oeuvres, cheeses, sausages and other goodies were delicious. Thank you Sargento and Old Wisconsin for your generous donation! The networking and fellowship that took place was awesome. It was an evening filled with energy and anticipation, with many members meeting for the first time; starting, developing, and in time, cementing long lasting relationships. It was truly an evening to be remembered!
