From the Desk of the Executive Director Another Chamber Champions Gala has concluded and what a beautiful night it was. We were thrilled to celebrate the successes of more than 77 nominees in 9 categories for accomplishments in 2021 and to hear inspiring stories from each of our winners throughout the evening. We also had a special treat with our Deidre Martinez Milwaukee Bucks Championship Trophy and Ring onsite for photo opportunities. Thank you to all who participated in this special evening. Without the assistance of volunteers, sponsors and of course a strong business community, we would not be able to make this night happen.

Molly, Coastal YPN Liaison Happy March!! As we head into another month in 2022, I can’t help but think things are moving in such a positive direction. Within our community as well as our network. We finished February having an event with Tony Wiltzius from Union Home Mortgage who came in and spoke about credit and how it will impact your future or current home buying experience. We had a good turn out and the information he provided was very beneficial even if you are not looking into home buying, but also maintaining your credit. Thank you again Tony for lending our network your time and knowledge !

Moving right along into March, we continue to dive into our strategic planning. We are excited to bring back behind the scenes tours and we are kicking it off at the Habitat for Humanity Lakeside ReStore shop in Sheboygan. They will be giving us an in-depth tour of their facility as well as talking to us about their mission and how they positively impact the community. Check out the event page and register to come and check out the great things they have to offer. Looking forward to an exciting rest of the year! Until next month Coastal Nation!

Roundtable reminders The Chamber’s peer-to-peer roundtables are structured and emphasize the Chamber’s ‘Better Together’ philosophy. KEY FEATURES: • STRUCTURE In person or virtually, your facilitator will work to give all an opportunity to say their concerns for peer group discussion. You will have to wait for your turn to talk. • OPENERS & CLOSERS One word that expresses how you feel; think ice-breakers and post-scripts. • TOPICS Primarily what is of concern to you so your peers can provide an idea or two, or more! Topics are ranked in 4 categories. We try to cover all topics, time permitting. Sometimes, we have a guest presenter. • DISCUSSION with EMPATHY Put yourself in their ‘shoes’ with your thoughts often based upon your own prior experiences. This is a judgment free zone. Yes, questions can be asked. • CONFIDENTIALITY The topics we discuss are to stay within the roundtable. • NOTES The facilitator will take notes and then send a recap for you to have a few days after the roundtable. If the roundtable is virtual, sometimes the roundtable is recorded. • CHAMBER BUZZ Every Monday, The Buzz lists roundtables scheduled to occur within the next few weeks plus a link so you can register. • EIGHT ROUNDTABLE GROUPS Worksite Wellness, Strategic Sourcing, Nonprofit Executives, Safety Managers, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Business Owners and Manufacturers. • REGISTER Please! Either use your Chamber Master password [do you have one?] or send an email to john@sheboygan.org Send your questions to John, too.
