Advocacy/Governmental Affairs: The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of advocacy and education around the potential impact of legislation on the business climate. Our Governmental Affairs committee meets monthly to discuss opportunities to educate the members on these current events. The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce offers 9 First Friday Forums annually and hosts quarterly County Roundtable discussions with local leaders and our elected officials. In addition, we have put significant research and advocacy into such issues as Highway 23 and Non-Attainment and have begun facilitating listening sessions with members to better understand their needs and if/how we might be able to support initiatives that are important to them.
Candidates—6th Congressional District

Ma Boor
I am running to bring urgency and to provide a voice on the pressing issues. Our healthcare, elections, and criminal justice systems are broken. Climate change is here. Our communities arent being supported. We need leaders that are willing to bring the urgency and boldness to fight for plans that provide true change. I am in it to win and we do that by championing ideas and solutions that address the many different issues we are all facing today. I am the candidate with the plans. Its incredibly important that I lead by example as your representative, to get things done we must put in the work and I am doing just that. Its time the 6th district has someone that stands up for them and brings the passion and heart back to Wisconsin. People first. Solutions focused. Matt Boor is currently the Director of Business Development for Broadwind Company. Boor worked as a teacher at Lakeshore Technical College and has an MBA from Marquette and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from DePaul University. Matt believes that agriculture, renewable energy, expanded broadband access, and legal marijuana can all contribute more opportunities and revenue streams to revitalize our rural economy. If you would like to learn more about Matt’s plan for Wisconsin or be a part of the team, please contact the campaign at any of the following: Email Facebook

Candidates—6th Congressional District Glenn Grothman is the congressman for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District. Grothman is currently serving his third term in Congress, having been elected in 2014.
Glenn Grothman (R)
I have previously served in the Wisconsin state legislature as state senator of district 18, including parts of Dodge, Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties. While in the Wisconsin legislature I served as Chair of the Workforce Development, Job Training and Technical Colleges committee. I also served as a member of the Education and Corrections committee, the Labor, Public Safety and Urban Affairs committee, the Agriculture, Forestry and Higher Education committee, and the Legal Revisions committee.
Jessica King (D) I previously served on the Oshkosh Common Council
as a member and Deputy Mayor. During these 2 terms the Council recruited a new city manager, started the city’s strategic plan cycles, created a sustainability committee, supported investment in public infrastructure including renovation of the Oshkosh Convention Center, the Grand Opera House and breaking ground on Oshkosh’s River walk. I have previously worked for the U.S. Department of Justice as a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee, and as adjunct faculty for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I’m currently a member of the Oshkosh Rotary Club and the Wisconsin State Bar Association. Originally from Fond du Lac, my family has called the 6 th Congressional District home for 6 generations, and I am proud to have been raised by dairy farmers, a disabled service member, and a machinist.
Candidates—Assembly District #26 Terry has served his community as an Oostburg village trustee; on the boards of several area Christian schools; as a member of the Sheboygan County Local Emergency Planning Committee; as a member of Sheboygan, Oostburg and Random Lake chambers of commerce; as president of the Oostburg Kiwanis Club and Workbound, Inc.; as an elder in the Oostburg Christian Reformed Church; and in other volunteer roles as well. a state legislator, Terry has been recognized with Terry Katsma (R) As awards from the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, as a Municipal Champion; Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, with the Working for Wisconsin Award; the American Conservative Union Foundation, with the Conservative Achievement Award; Wisconsin Family Action, as a Friend of Family, Life and Liberty; and by the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities, the Dairy Business Association, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, the Wisconsin Builders Association, the Wisconsin Historical Society, Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., and the Wisconsin Grocers Association.
I went to St. Clement’s school and graduated from North High. I was a student and worker for many years in Madison, getting my Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s Degree in Comparative Literature, and, figuring I needed a way to make a living, graduated from Mary Lynne Donohue (D) UW-Madison Law School in 1979. I’ve served on the boards of Head Start, the John Michael Kohler Art Center, Family Connections, and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, in addition to my work with the School District and the City of Sheboygan, and a number of state wide organizations. When I retired, I also had the chance to go back to graduate school, and received a Master’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies, with a research focus on low-income women and voting. I’m very much looking forward to bringing my skills, experience and energy to the Wisconsin Assembly, and truly appreciate your support. And a reason to vote for or against me, I play the bagpipes!
