WESTFIELD ARCHITECTURAL REP. WITH QAD AT THE PORT AUTHORITY Workshops analyzing events at the Oculus, WTC References available upon request.

Various Events at the Oculus, WestďŹ eld, WTC
Notes & Location
The Oculus Level C2, Downtown NY 1968 BC, Occupancy Use Varies per Event
Site
Port Authority
The Oculus is known for its elegant atrium. It connects both sides of WestďŹ eld Mall, the NYC Subways & the Path trains.
Filing with the Port is a different experience than ďŹ ling with the DOB. The process is much more hands on.
The main space is also used for events.
The Quality Assurance Division often questioned many of our design and ďŹ ling choices, which made me a stronger architect and designer.
Jurisdiction The Port Authority
Responsibilities
As the architectural project manager, I collaborated directly with our in-house engineer to complete the extensive number of architectural and engineering sets from start to ďŹ nish.
Challenges & Growth
Work Samples Sheena Dee Singh
Such grand venues bring high-end clientele with their marketing teams providing project ideas. I would reach out to event producers and fabricators to gather all required information for both the engineering and architectural ďŹ ling sets.
646-705-5733 s.sheenadee@gmail.com
These would then need to be enhanced, often requiring design changes to be ďŹ led as per Port Authority guidelines. The clients wouldn't always support these updates. This back and forth led to gorgeous and safe projects, while improving my communication and problem solving skills.

Reaching occupancy desires is often easy in a tent like this where we can chose to create multiple exits. The challenge was making sure everyone is comfortably seated and fit in the space.

Due to the clients limited budget, the staircase was to remain in the same location. All the circulation was to revolve around it.

B.Arch Thesis: Shaken & Stirred Site
Esplanade Park in Downtown Core of Singapore Where the tourist district meets the business district of the island nation, makes it an ideal location for a multi-use shopping center aka bazaar.
Design Approach Thriving with culture, we wanted to give the tourists and natives a useful place for "play" in between all the "work".
Site Plan
Source: Sheena Singh (Myself) + Partner
A bazaar is always bustling with vendors and consumers in constant circulation. We decided to divide the bazaar into all its various elements, and tackle them architecturally.: - Occupiable Roof: Keeping it Green - Stalls & Circualation: Shaked & Stirred - Superstructure Columns: Play

Challenges
We had 4 months to come up with a design concept including the site, choice of venue, etc.
Responsibilities
I focused on the 3D modeling, 3D printing, and other 3D studies, while assisting my partner with the 2D aspect of our presentation.
