Ambassador Spotlight Liz Traylor, Marketing Coordinator for SportClips, has been named Ambassador of the Month. SportClips is a sports-themed hair salon just for men. Liz is a new Ambassador with the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and is enjoying being very involved in Chamber activities. Liz is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Public Relations. Before moving to Birmingham, she worked for the City of Auburn as the Interim Public Relations Specialist. August Luncheon scheduled Dr. Jeff French from Align Your Spine Chiropractic will present the popular topic of “How to Stay Young the First 100 Years” at the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce August membership luncheon. Dr. French speaks regularly to business audiences, churches and other organizations. It’s never too late to learn how to stay young your first 100 years! The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, August 25th, at the Pelham Civic Complex. Investment is $17 for members and $20 for non-members. Be sure to join us for networking and meet the businesses from the cities of Calera and Montevallo participating in the Spotlight City Feature beginning at 11am. The Greater Shelby County Education Foundation and THE PARTNERSHIP of Shelby County are hosting the 3rd Annual Taste of Shelby County on Thursday, September 23, 2010, from 6:30 until 9 pm at the Harley Davidson HOG Room in Pelham, located off Hwy 119 / Cahaba Valley Rd. There will be vendors from all over Shelby County offering a “taste� from their menus. These vendors include

restaurants, wineries, and caterers including Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Momma Goldbergs, and Morgan Creek Winery. Tickets are $35 and available for purchase at the Chamber. Proceeds go to the Greater Shelby County Education Foundation. Chamber to Celebrate 30 Years with Gala Event The Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an evening gala on August 12th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Inverness Country Club. The Chamber has invited members, distinguished guests, and the community to attend the celebration. Guests will share stories of the history of our growth over the past decade, the vision they had that shaped our journey along the way, where we are today, and our vision for the future.
