5 LUNCHEON REFLECTIONS On April 5, 2012 the chamber hosted its monthly membership luncheon spotlighting the Town of Harpersville. Mayor Theo Perkins shared many historical facts highlighting Harpersville rich past while progressing into the town’s future. Sammy Blocker of Bama Budweiser gave a quick overview of the new plant being built and how it will be moving from Sylacauga to Harpersville bringing over 130 jobs with it. As these jobs change with turnover it will be an asset to our area as they begin rehiring from Shelby County for these positions.
Kevin Morris, South Shelby Chamber of Commerce board member gave our invocation and introduced our luncheon sponsors from First United Security Bank and Harpersville Medical Clinic. We had many businesses represented at the luncheon including Morgan Creek Vineyards, Southern Care Hospice, Russell Building Supply, Gill’s Service Center, Perk’s BBQ and many more. All of these businesses had donated door prizes, provided the lunch, sponsored the lunch and or had an expo table. A huge thank you to all of our volunteers and ambassadors who help at the luncheons each month!
