Board of Directors Nominations Sought In accordance with the Chamber’s by-laws the Nominating Committee is responsible for selecting a list of six candidates, who are all members in good standing, to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors beginning in January 2013. Due consideration will be given to the candidate’s business or profession in an effort to have a broad representation of Chamber members on the Board of Directors. This business-to-consumer program is designed to get participating members in front of 2,000 new residents for the cost of participating/ advertising. The ChamberMail program is another opportunity for members to promote their products and services. The advertising cost paid by participants allows them to get in front of 2,000 new residents who have actually moved to Shelby County. In addition to the mailing and online advertising participants receive, the program also
offers an optional new resident database for member follow up efforts. 6 Join in our County’s progress by serving on a Chamber Work Group There are numerous opportunities for involvement with the Chamber. The following is a list of Work Groups along with a brief description of each. These Work Groups will begin meeting on a monthly basis in January 2013 the Chamber’s next program year. Existing Business & Industry Work Group Recognize and support local industries through tours, legislative actions, seminars and other appropriate means. Organize the annual Industry Appreciation Event held in February. Small Business Work Group Promote the economic success of small businesses through a variety of events, seminars and workshops. Sporting Clay enthusiasts! The Greater Shelby Chamber is holding its 3rd Annual Sporting Clay Shoot on November 7th at Selwood Farm in Alpine. Selwood’s fully automated Sporting Clays course, both challenging and fun, meets the needs of all levels of shooters. Selwoodís comprehensive shooting facility includes a covered 5-stand for warmup and training and a 100-target course. Their traps offer challenging targets for both the beginner and expert. Annual Prayer Breakfast The Annual Prayer Breakfast is designed for members to come together to fellowship, celebrate, and give thanks for our many blessings.
