I participated in the Helena Block Party and as a result I booked several Silpada jewelry parties that day. I’m thrilled with the connections and business relationships I’ve made since joining the Chamber in May. My involvement in the Chamber has made such a HUGE impact that I decided to take it a step further and joined the Ambassadors Program. This has given me an opportunity to develop even more relationships. Joining the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce has been one of the BEST business decisions I’ve ever made!

Membership Database Benefits Are You Marketing by Mail or Telephone to Your Customers? What about Your Fellow Chamber Members?
In today’s economy, it’s more important than ever to reach out to your customers to keep them informed of your products and services. Independent studies have shown that those companies that continue to advertise consistently provide a unique window of opportunity for investment purposes to: 1) Build equity 2) Solidify your customer base 3) Gain new customers and 4) Make inroads on your competitors who have cut their advertising during what may viewed as a “slow” period in the economy. This window of opportunity is created by the understanding that advertising is an investment, not an expense.

At the August luncheon, I sat with Bruce Gouin of Express Personnel. I mentioned that we were looking at several temp services to help us staff special events. He immediately followed up with our caterers — Jay and Lynn Roberson. We now have a contract with Express to provide staffing for special events! It is a perfect example of chamber networking and relationships. I have known Bruce over 10 years and knew that he would work hard to meet our needs. We had budget constraints, but needed reliable, professional workers. Bruce worked hard to present a proposal that met our needs.
