Two New Opportunities for Chamber Members! New Shelby County Map Offers Visibility and Opportunity Your Chamber works yearround to make Shelby County an even better place to live and do business. To accomplish this, we offer a variety of goods and services to businesses, newcomers and visitors. That’s why were pleased to announce a new Community Map. This formidable marketing tool is the only map distributed by the Chamber to members, potential newcomers, tourists, visitors, etc. The map, published in full-color street detail by Chamber member firm Village Profile, will be used by families and businesses relocating to Shelby County and a valuable resource for business travelers and long-time residents. The 2013 Shelby County map will include: • Distribution — thousands of full-color, updated printed maps featuring schools, hospitals, parks and development areas will be distributed through the Chamber. • Pinpoints — Chamber sponsor business locations will be pinpointed on the map. • On-Line Viewing — At

This business-to-consumer program is designed to get participating members in front of 2,000 new residents for the cost of participating/ advertising. The ChamberMail program is another opportunity for members to promote their products and services. The advertising cost paid by participants allows them to get in front of 2,000 new residents who have actually moved to Shelby County. Bruce Koppenhoefer Congratulations to our Ambassador of the Month, Bruce Koppenhoefer, Renaissance Enterprises. With a 40-year career that evolved from equipment engineer to product manager to marketing manager and now communications director, Bruce provides marketing communications services through his sole proprietorship, Renaissance Enterprises. In this capacity, he provides his clients with a single source for all their marketing communications needs, whether it be development of presentations or sales literature, newsletter implementation, ad design, or business writing. In addition to his volunteer activities as a Chamber Ambassador, Bruce also serves on the Board of the Arc of Shelby County and heads up Invent Alabama, an inventor support group. He just recently celebrated his 35year wedding anniversary, and he and his wife are full-time care givers for their special needs son who lives with them. Aubri McClendon Joins Chamber Staff Aubri McClendon has joined the Chamber staff team as the new Manager of Business Development. Aubri will be working to encourage businesses throughout Shelby County to invest in the Chamber’s program of work. Aubri, a Calera resident, is a recent graduate of the University of Montevallo where she studied Communication Studies and was a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society. Aubri was on the Dean’s List for four years and was named “Student of the Year” in Communication Studies.
She is married to Ryne, who also graduated from the University of Montevallo and works in Alabaster. She enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, enjoying the outdoors, watching football, and meeting new people. She is excited to grow the Greater Shelby Chamber member family! 2nd Annual Shelby Blues & BBQ at Helena Amphitheater, Old Town Helena The Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is excited to host the 2nd Annual Shelby Blues & BBQ in Old Town Helena! This year’s event is presented by the City of Helena, produced by Event Operations Group, Inc., in conjunction with the Helena Business Association will be held on Saturday, October 20th at the Helena Amphitheater in Old Town Helena. Gates will open to the public at 1 pm until 9 pm and tickets are only $5 per person in advance, $10 at the gate.
There are three categories for the BBQ team competition entry: Pork, Ribs, and Chicken. So get your grilling skills stoked and ready to compete this year! We are planning to have a Kids Area open until sunset, tons of arts and crafts, soulful blues music all day, plus several types of food vendors on-site selling an array of flavors to satisfy your favorite craving of the day. This is a family-friendly event so invite everyone you know to come on out and enjoy the best

Snapshots Congratulations to Lifeguard Ambulance Services on the opening of its new office in Alabaster. Lifeguard Ambulance Service is a 24/7 medical transport service that services all area hospitals.

Owners Bill White and Jeff White were supported by family and Belle Foods of Alabaster store associates, as well as the Greater Shelby County and Hoover Chambers of Commerce, as they celebrated the grand opening of their first store in Alabaster.
