Are You Marketing by Mail or Telephone to Your Customers? What about Your Fellow Chamber Members? In today’s economy, it’s more important than ever to reach out to your customers to keep them informed of your products and services. Independent studies have shown that those companies that continue to advertise consistently provide a unique window of opportunity for investment purposes to: 1) Build equity; 2) Solidify your customer base; 3) Gain new customers; and 4) Make inroads on your competitors who have cut their advertising during what may viewed as a “slow” period in the economy. This window of opportunity is created by the understanding that advertising is an investment, not an expense.
The Chamber can assist in expanding your advertising and marketing efforts ... inexpensively! As a member, you have the opportunity to purchase the Greater Shelby Chamber membership database for only $100. This list contains our current Chamber members, their respective representatives, physical and mailing addresses, telephone numbers, and websites. And, upon request, you’ll receive quarterly updates for an entire year. The membership database can easily be emailed in an Excel spreadsheet straight to your Inbox. It’s that simple! To receive your membership database, contact the Chamber at 663-4542 to expand your marketing outreach today!

Thank you to Wendy Sandlin, and the Greater Shelby Chamber, for helping Buffalo Rock acquire a newly opened furniture outlet. If it wasn’t for your team and the networking system you have I would not have been able to get in touch with the managers at this new up and coming facility and show them our special line of products. Shelby County Community and Chamber Friends

Dear Chamber Members and Shelby County Community: Let me throw a couple of sayings out to you ... “It’s all about who you know,” “People like doing business with people they know and who they like,” “It’s all about relationships.” It’s all true to your success and the Greater Shelby Chamber can help you connect! In 1994, I moved back to Alabama to sell advertising for The Birmingham News. Right away I got involved with the area chamber to help me connect with the right business audience to sell my products. I jumped into chamber activities, luncheons, sponsorships, and committees ranging from golf to finance. Sales leads, leadership opportunities, and friendships came quickly. Eight years later I could look back at my experience as an ambassador, committee chair, board member, and board officer. These roles not only connected me to business owners allowing me to prosper at my job, but also the opportunity to build relationships with a diverse group of people who would benefit me personally and professionally for years to come. One board member relationship led me to another career opportunity where I broadened my chamber involvement to a state level. More doors were opened to experience the people, happenings and initiatives in Alabama! What will your success be? A sales lead? A new business to business partner? A new friend? Or even a business deal that allows you to retire early!!?? So, get involved. Know and work with the members of the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. Become a member. Your commitment will payoff. As they say ... “You get out of it what you put into it.” Here’s to happy rewards!
