2012 sscc ambassaDOr PrOGram Purpose: Inform. Invite. Involve. Retain. Recruit. The purpose of the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors is to promote good will and serve as a public relations unit for the Chamber. Ambassadors are an active group designed to bridge the current active membership and new members with the services provided by the Chamber.
Activities: Serve as host/hostesses at all chamber functions such as luncheons, Coffee with the Mayors Breakfasts, Silent Auction and Gala, Golf Tournaments, Creative Arts Antiques and Business Show, Health Fair, Ribbon Cuttings etc.. BeneďŹ ts: There is a great personal benefit returned for their service. Ambassadors gain knowledge of the community and the Chamber,
develop business contacts through association with others on committee and chamber members, and expose their own business among other businesses. Ambassador Selection: Members of the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce are selected for the Ambassador program. They are approved by the Board of Directors and will serve a one year term.

5 lUNcheON reFlecTIONs On January 5, 2012 the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce welcomed Greg Canfield, Director of Economic Development for the State of Alabama. It was a pleasure to see and hear his presentation as we learned how our great state competes for progress and is recognized for its existing industries. The Chamber also recognized Superintendent Randy Fuller of the Shelby County Board of Education and the Board Members that make our school system top notch offering excellent learning opportunities that prepares our workforce of tomorrow. The luncheon was catered by Bernie’s on Main and sponsored by Alagasco. Our invocation was given by Kevin Morris, Board Member and Branch Manager of M&F Bank. We welcomed our newest chamber members: Baptist Health Center-Chelsea, The Awards and
