5 leTTer FrOm The DIrecTOr Don’t you just love this time of year? The leaves changing, the cooler weather and the freshness of the new season upon us is so much Stacy Walkup fun! All the local businesses getting Executive Director their fall and winter merchandise ready for the busy time of year is well underway. The downtowns and storefronts are so wonderfully decorated adding so much excitement and charm to our communities.

As you are getting your shopping lists underway for all of these wonderful upcoming holiday events and family gatherings please keep your local businesses in mind because they are such an asset to our communities and add so much to our local economy. Offering unique goods and services and one on one customer service you can’t find just anywhere! Also the Chamber wants to Thank all of our businesses for the hard work that each and every one of you offer to your customers and for the goods and services you provide in our communities. Sometimes it just isn’t easy doing all that you all do on a daily basis and during this

changing economy it may feel like it’s an uphill battle at times but just know that together all of you make such a difference! I often reflect on how nice some of my customers were when my mom and I owned a store. During the holiday season I had so many customers who became friends that would bring in their out of town family to meet us and shop. We really loved it when a customer would bring in cakes, brownies, you name it to thank us for being in business, wow we felt so appreciated. Buying local this holiday season will help our businesses prosper and grow providing a better community for all! Happy Fall Everyone!
