4 LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Heading into the 4th Quarter of 2010 are you ready, how can you heighten your opportunities?

Stacy Walkup Executive Direcxtor

It is such a privilege to work at the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce, helping businesses prosper and grow. The Chamber helps with ribbon cuttings for new businesses, networking at the luncheons, welcoming new residents to town with welcome baskets filled with marketing materials and gift certificates from local merchants. Promoting our community at expo shows showcasing how wonderful it is to live, work and raise our families in Shelby County. Members work hard to meet new business owners, serve on a chamber committee to make a difference such as our economic development committee pursing industry recruitment, our golf tournament/silent auction and gala committees planning the event coming up in September to raise money for student scholarships, board members who unselfishly give of their time and resources for the betterment of our county, ambassadors who work hard to better their communities through volunteering at chamber functions. Expo Shows at the luncheons promoting communities and their businesses for our first annual creative arts, antiques and business show in October at the Shelby county exhibition center which will give businesses the opportunity to show off their seasonal items, promote their services and make extra money outside of their home or storefronts and encourage first time entrepreneurs the opportunity to kick off a brand new enterprise. These truly are just a few of the things our chamber offers throughout the year. Local chambers of commerce are agents of change, preservers of traditions, and exercise good will in communities’ at all different levels of growth and expectations. I would like to invite your business to get involved in our chamber to heighten your business opportunities, market your goods and services and most of all to network with other businesses who share your common goals and share ideas, learn from the chamber programs and one another, to build relationships to create that business building business system to continue the success and good fortune of your business and lively hood. The chamber offers so many ways to get involved to network and market your business and that’s where we can help!
