The chart-topping, all-sister folk and pop band from Donegal bring their unique take on traditional Irish music to the Connie Brown Hall stage. The band has always defied being pigeonholed, having masterfully developed their own unique fusion of folk and pop, while pitch perfect harmonies have led them to collaborations with Sinéad O’Connor, Peter Gabriel, and Joni Mitchell. Thursday, January 18 • 4 p.m. A Pirate’s Life for Me: Music and Songs of Maritime Dr. Tom Cimarusti will introduce the music and songs of sailors, pirates, and everything in between. From Sloop John B. to Blow the Man Down, sea chanteys have become a part of American pop culture, and not just a relic of the past.
