Branding Design I worked as a freelance graphic designer when I was in Peking University. I had great interest in branding and visual identity and thus did a lot of related work. How to convey the key idea of the brand and figure out an efficient way to communicate with the target audience was the main consideration for me. The most attractive part of branding design that motivates me to explore is the strong effect it could bring to the customers, reshaping their behaviour, and finally creating a new culture.

Typographic Design Typographic knowledge is one of the essential aspects of a graphic designer, which is also highly focused during my study in LCC. We paid a large amount of time building up our type hierachy and type classification skills, thus we are able to use types to atrract the readers' attentioin, express specific meanings, and design effecient layouts that provide clear structure of the information.

Poster Design Poster is my favorite graphic media due to its strongly expressive metaphor and the simplicity. I really enjoy the process of designing posters because it is a challengable task to use all the types and images in a smart way to convey the key information right to the audience. All the posters in the following pages are the primary practicing works in the university, showing my first trying of visual expression.

Mobius Designed for Peking University Drama Club Theatre poster design 05/2015

21

Anna in the Tropics Designed for Peking University Drama Club Theatre poster design 12/2014

••• Written by Nilo Cruz, the play depicts the rise and falls of a family–managed cigar factory and the uncontrollable changing of the relationship between the family members due to their different attitudes towards the new lector, who reads Anna Karenina for them during the work. For the poster, I used the elements of cigars, palms and the silhouette of a woman to indicate the title. Each palm represents one of the family members and the burning of the cigar indicates the upcoming tragedy.

Information Design Information design is a combination of visual design and data management. Compared to other subjects, information design needs more logical analysis and calculation, which highly matches my academic background. As data analyzation is increasingly drawing attention and information design has become hotter and hotter, my interest in this subject is continuously rising and I'm eager to catch up with the trend.
