Welcome To Another Edition Of Sarah Magazine I hope that all the mothers had a happy mother’s day and were treated like a queen. Once again, we are coming to you with some very interesting stories, articles, and businesses. Did you enjoy our April issue of Sarah? Erica Noel was our featured story. She is a very intelligent young woman; I hope you were inspired by her story. Before I talk about this month’s issue, we at Sarah decided to share some of our previous featured stories. We are constantly meeting and connecting with so many new people in different states. Some have never heard or seen Sarah magazine. You would be surprised at how many people need an encouraging word. That is what we are all about. We bring stories that encourage and inspire that someone who may be going through a difficult time in their life. No matter what you’re going through, remember someone else has been there or is worse off than you. One thing you need to remember… God is with you, He put others in place to let you know what ever the test, it’s about to be your testimony, no matter how big of a mess you made, this is your message to others. Be encouraged and read some of our previous featured stories. I guarantee that there is one in there that will inspire you to keep going. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old,
Sarah has something for you! You will see these stories throughout the magazine, just click on the links and it will take you to the story. I pray it will remind you that it’s never too late and the best is yet to come. Now let’s talk about this month’s issue; I know this is going to raise a lot of hairs and ruffle some feathers. This is such a touchy subject, but this is a subject that needs to be addressed. I won’t go into detail about our feature story, I am sure the title gives you an idea on what this is all about. Once you read it, please contact me and give me your feedback. This month is filled with some very interesting stories. Make sure you read about the case of police brutality. Let’s remember to take time and stop and pray for the families in Oklahoma. If there is something you can do to help, please do so. They need all the help and prayers we can give. With all the chaos going on in the world, it’s time to STOP AND PRAY!! In closing I would like to personally say HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the good fathers out there. Because of a lot dead beat dads, our good fathers don’t get their due praise. Ladies if you have a good baby daddy… treat him special on father’s day. Let him know that you appreciate him.

Since the last issue of SARAH Magazine, I hit a wall. You know, when things that are out of your control pile up on your back and you can’t walk anymore because the weight is too great? Whether it is a true weight or a weight that you have mentally, it is still nevertheless a perceived weight. What do you do? What remedy, proven in the past, will alleviate this feeling? Being transparent, my wall is menopause. This period of every women’s life affects each women in different ways. Some get testy, some get weepy, and some, like me, turn inward. You feel like you are alone, but you know that you are not. You just want to be alone. You feel sad. You ignore phone calls, texts, Facebook, any communication from the outside world. You feel tired, drained, and disinterested. Blasé. You don’t go to work, to church, or even to the store! There is no easy answer to this. Each women needs to find their way out of this dark tunnel. Sometimes, you can find your way on your own; others may need help. Still others find patience and understanding with family. I am blessed to have an empathetic husband, support of close family and friends, and my God! My friends, I am not saying that things are perfect, but I am slowly trying to find my way. When I start to feel like I am walking into that tunnel, I reach out – to my friends and my God! “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life” (Psalm 119:50) Once I realize that my suffering is part of my faith, I try to praise God in advance for the deliverance of my “time of life”! I have good days and bad, but the good days outweigh the bad. My suffering is not related to anything wrong that I have done; remember our sins were forgiven at the cross! Be vigilant, my friend, because you have much to do! Don’t let this thing deter you from your pre-ordained goal. You trust God in guiding to that goal, so trust him with this! Remember to reach out… …one day at a time!

COOKING WITH J.C Cook two-buy two A Simple Dish For Summer With Dessert smoked bar-b-cue neck bones 4 Lbs. Smoked Neck bones ½ Cup Of Water 1 Bell Pepper 1 Onion Season Salt Black Pepper 1 Bottle Of Your Favorite Bar-B-Cue Sauce Place neck bones in a large baking pan add the water. Season neck bones with season salt and pepper. Chop up onion and bell pepper and put in the pan. Pour bar-b-cue sauce over the neck bones. Cover with foil. Bake in oven at 350 for 35 -40 minutes.
Raspberry cake 1 box of white cake mix 1 large container of raspberries 1 large container of cool whip 2 round cake pans Bake cake according to package directions. Let cool. Once cool flip onto a plate. Spread cool whip over the first layer and top with raspberries. Place the second cake on top of the first layer. Frost whole cake with cool whip. Top with the remainder of the berries. Chill in the refrigerator about 1 hour.
Slice and serve .
This serves about 4 people. Buy some readymade potato salad and 2 cans of green beans. Season green beans with lemon pepper and butter.

Another Case of Police Brutality…. We Demand Answers! The image you see to my left is a photo of Joseph Hines. Joseph Hines, 20, a student at Ohio State University, was beaten August 29, 2012, off the campus of OSU by Ohio police. He allegedly had an open can of alcohol and resisted arrest, which after all charges were dropped he was fined a $100 dollar for littering. Joseph a senior honor student and aspiring neurosurgeon, took a brutal beating by more than 10 law enforcement officers, knocked unconscious and remained hospitalized three day after the beating. Still eight months after the altercation, needs treatment for post-traumatic stress. His father, Pastor James L. Hines, of Lily Missionary Baptist, Jackson MI. wants to take action an feels that the police need better training with handling young adults. Pastor Hines does expect to file a civil lawsuit within the next few weeks. WHAT IF THIS WAS YOUR SON?? We want your feedback on this matter.

Let This Mind Be In You Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5 KJV) Our mind is to have the same characteristics that Christ’s mind had. Even at Spiritual birth, we have the mind of Christ. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. (I Corinthians 2:16) In subsequent growth, that mind must contend with established habits, the culture in which we live, and the work of Satan in us. The mind of Christ matures in a process of growth. Children have encountered people who lack moral character. Young people have been hurt by negative words spoken from parents, friends, teachers and maybe even total strangers. They watch negative news reports, they watch their friends sell drugs and maybe some parents using drugs. Teenage girls getting pregnant and no father to help support the child. They have listened to their Christian family members talk about the preacher and
church members on the phone, but they yet try to witness to their children. You have watched your friends go to jail and some even killed for wearing the wrong color. God wants something different from you. He wants you to be a young person of Character. It’s time to start creating your own personal mission statement that can help you live with INTEGRITY. A good name is more desirable than riches; to be esteemed is better than silver and gold (Proverbs 22:1) You are not the negative words that were spoken over you. You are special to God and you will operate in the spirit of Excellence. No gang, no boyfriend and no girlfriend can comfort you like the word of God can. God is the void that you are trying to fill because nothing else will fill it. Take a moment to think about how you really feel about you. Take a moment and look at all the people you associate with; are they Toxic or Healthy for you to be around? Remember, I stated earlier that a good name is more desirable than riches; to be esteemed is better than silver and gold. What is God’s Standard for the Mind?
Romans 8:6-For the mind set on flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit are LIFE and PEACE. Young People, the spiritual mind is peaceful. You can’t obtain that kind of peace thru alcohol and drugs, or by giving your boyfriend or girlfriend marriage privileges. We all have been a child and we are here to uplift you and encourage you to succeed in life. No, you are not the first person to get pregnant or drink or use drugs. But as I write this unto you, we all gave up something to live for Christ. It was the best move we ever made! I can say falling in love with Jesus was the best thing I have ever done! Sin separates us from God. One of the greatest distractions for young people is becoming distracted or “led astray”; our mind darts off often in the course of a day. It is time for you to obtain a single mind like Christ. Don’t allow what you are doing to be done in strife or vain glory because you are mad at someone who hurt you. Lowliness is a state of mind. When you are lowly, you will esteem others higher than you. It’s time to walk in purity! All things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupt. Purity is the state of mind for a Christian. (Titus 1:15 NIV) I heard some say my gang is my family. But can I just say your natural family will stand by your side no matter what. If you do something and end up in prison, will your gang family come to see you? Think about it. Your family and true friends want the best for you. Young men, there is a king inside of you. He is that man that you just can’t see or understand. Young ladies, there is a queen inside of you. She is that young lady that you can’t see. You
don’t have to sell drugs or work the streets, etc. You don’t want to live a life where you are constantly looking over your shoulder. If you know what you are doing is not right, than pray and walk away. I know you are saying, she don’t know my life or what’s taking place in my life. You are right, but I know Jesus can turn your situation around. What the devil meant for bad, God means it for your good! I invite you to set your mind on the things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2 NIV) This takes some of your will power to elevate your mind! Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. (John 7:38 NIV) Jesus said He that believes in me, as the Scripture said, from his innermost being, shall flow rivers of living water. Young people, when you see ponds that are stagnate, the water is not moving. This is what you do when you limit your ability to grow. Rivers becomes oceans. I love the beach and every time I have visited one whether in Hawaii, North Carolina or San Diego I can never see the end of the oceans. It’s time to decide do you want to remain stagnate or do you want God to allow your gifts and talents to flow like an ocean. Come on join in prayer with me for all the young people that don’t know Him, so they can gird their mind for action. With minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at His coming. Father I thank you for each person that is reading this article. I pray that you would touch their hearts to want to give their life to You. Lord, I decree and declare that every chain be broken and that every parent will
uplift his or her child. I also decree and declare that every young person who is in the jails right now that you would touch their hearts and minds. Lord, Your power is yet the same and I am going to praise You in advance for total healing and deliverance! In Jesus name, it is so. Taking back what the enemy thought he stole from us!

Our Featured Story: Coming out of the Closet
I WOULD LIKE TO GO ON THE RECORD AS SAYING THAT I AM COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET.
WAIT! BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT, PLEASE READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE FIRST. How many times have you turned on the television or read in the newspaper that someone was coming out of the closet stating that they are openly gay. This is the new normal and anybody that says anything against it, they are treated harshly. The majority of the world approves of this and now Christians are a minority. I was reading Psalms 12:1, where it says; HELP, LORD, for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. (KJV) I read this same scripture in the Revised Standard Version and it said: HELP, LORD, for there is no longer any that is godly; for the faithful have vanished from the sons of men. While watching a talk show the other day, the conversation came up about same sex marriage. There was a Christian on the show and it seemed that this person was afraid to speak up and say that they were against it. This really grieved me! I have seen so many people that are celebrities speak on this subject, if they were against it; the results were not good for them. This is not only people in celebrity status, but it‟s happening in our everyday lives. To me it seems that we are being bullied to believe the way they believe or else…. If you own a business or even at your job, if you say you‟re against same sex marriage, you have people ready to boycott your business or in some cases you‟re job mysteriously comes to end. WHAT HAPPENED TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH? I could not rest after seeing this talk show. God led me to write about this
subject and make it public. I petitioned other Christians to write about this issue, these are the questions I sent to them;
ARE CHRISTIANS BEING BULLIED? When I looked up the word bully, these are some of the words I saw; To Intimidate, Domineer, Overbearing, and Quarrelsome We should be able to openly say how we feel, without being ridiculed. It is so sad that society is trying to force us into believing the way they believe. You hear so much about kids being bullied at school to conform to ways that they disagree with. We have campaigns to stop the bullying in the schools. I totally agree with this. The bullying also needs to stop against Christians. Just because we disagree does not mean we hate you. If you totally believe in what you‟re doing is right, why does it matter if I agree or not? You don‟t believe in my way of life. I am confident in who I am and who I stand for, it doesn‟t matter if you like me or not. What are you afraid of? We all know someone close to us that‟s gay, it could be a parent, brother, sister, uncle, aunt or friend. They might be openly gay or still in the closet. Either way, it does not stop us from loving that family member or friend, BUT, we have a right to disagree with their life style. We should not be bullied into believing what they believe. We have a right to voice how we feel!
WHILE GAYS ARE COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET, ARE CHRISTIANS HIDING IN THE CLOSET? Psalms 12:1 is so prevalent to what is happening in the world today. Christians are afraid to speak up! If someone close to you is gay, all of a sudden it‟s okay and nothing is said to that person about their lifestyle. You are against it as long as it doesn‟t hit home. Christians are afraid to speak up for fear of losing their jobs or fear of not being popular. We have become the minority, we are hiding afraid to speak up for righteousness sake. Gays are openly speaking out. We are against it when we are surrounded by other Christians. What are you saying when you‟re on the job or have to challenge that close family member on this issue. We as Christians need to stop hiding how we feel and speak up on what the word of God says. It‟s time to come out of the closet!
ARE CHRISTIAN CELEBRITIES AFRAID TO SPEAK UP FOR FEAR OF LOSING THEIR CELEBRITY STATUS? After watching the talk show I spoke of earlier and watching the Christian person sit there while everyone was openly talking about same sex marriage, I realized something; that person was afraid to speak up because they feared losing their job. I have seen so many Christian celebrities say that they agree with same sex marriages. ARE THEY READING THE BIBLE, WHAT IS GOING WITH THAT?? Those who spoke against it had to publicly apologize. It‟s funny how non-Christians can come on television and make fun of the Bible and make jokes about Christianity and no one makes them apologize when we are offended. Christian celebrities should be able to openly say how they feel without being in fear. Once again, that is a form of bullying!! I don‟t care how you try to candy coat same sex marriage, it still comes back to a man and woman. You cannot reproduce without the opposite sex. There is a reason God made the woman with different body parts than
a man, so that they could continue to multiply. I‟m not saying anything you haven‟t heard before. You can believe what you want, but I am standing strong on my beliefs. We as Christians need to stand on God‟s word and not be afraid of what people think. This is not about writing hate mail to gays; it‟s all about us being able to freely voice how we feel about same sex marriages. I could expound on this subject even deeper. I am sure I will be getting a lot of hate mail on this issue. Until then I will allow those who submitted their articles to speak about how they feel on this subject. Believe me there is more to come! We as Christians need to stand for righteousness sake.

ARE CHRISTIANS BEING BULLIED? Our view on it is that as the scriptures says "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places".... Satan is the author of all sin and the god of this world and as the scriptures says every man is born in sin and shapen in iniquity, and with each generation sin progresses. Understanding that, it's expected to see an up rise in immoral deeds, the closer we get to the end. So, what we have to do as Christians is what the scriptures says (2Chronicles 7:14 KJV )"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." we must not fight this battle from a carnal perspective, but, from a spiritual perspective. (2Corithians 10:4 KJV) "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;" we need to pray for Holy Ghost boldness to speak the truth. Question#2 WHILE GAYS ARE COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET, ARE CHRISTIANS HIDING IN THE CLOSET? In the book of Acts when the Apostles were being persecuted for their faith in Christ they gather together in prayer and they asked God to grant them boldness to speak the Word of God in the face of all the threats, we must all do the same. There is a boldness that comes from the Holy Spirit thatâ€&#x;s not afraid of Satan in any way, but that comes with prayer and fasting. Again the key Saints today need to pray like never before.

ARE CHRISTIAN CELEBRITIES AFRAID TO SPEAK UP FOR FEAR OF LOSING THEIR CELEBRITY STATUS? Honestly, I can't comment on that.. Due to the fact that I'm not engaged with Christian Celebrity current affairs, so it would be unwise of me to comment on a matter I have no knowledge of, whether they are or not. However, I do know that there is need for revival in the church, when it comes down to making a stand for God; for what is right. Which revival is coming.

We as Christians should stand up and be counted for righteousness sake. Everyone else is declaring what they believe and using their right of free speech while the Christians and the ones who are called by the name of Jesus sit in silence. When I read the question, Are Christians being bullied? I thought about when Jesus was confronted by Satan at the time he was fasting. We cannot be bullied by the devil if we stand for righteousness. Jesus spoke to Satan and said, “Get the behind me Satan for It is written.� What we must realize is that all sin shall be called into judgment. The enemy has always wanted the children of God to sit in silence. Freedom of speech is for everyone not just for the non-Christians. People are always trying to be politically correct but what does God say about the perversion of sexuality. Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
(NIV, 1st Corinthians 6:9-11) This is plainly written in the scripture that all sin shall be brought into judgment. In this day and time I believe a lot of people are afraid to speak what they believe but the believer needs to “STAND UP AND BE COUNTED FOR GOD.” Yes, God is love and he loves everybody but the one who transgress against his righteousness shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Pastor Irene Chaney I don‟t think Christians are being bullied. We just have to be careful of who we judge. If we as Christians see someone being or doing something we don‟t agree with we should speak up. I think we need to pray and learn how to approach, and not run people away being religious. 2. I feel we should not be afraid to say what we believe, and not be ridiculed. I myself feel if same sex was meant to be, anybody could have a baby. You have to come through a woman in order to be birthed into this world. 3. I don‟t know about the celebrity Christian speaking out, it‟s a lot of dark celebrity secrets. This is a very deep issue. I know that God loves everyone and at the end of the day God will be the one to judge. We have to learn to know people.
Bridgette Carradine I don't believe that Christians are being bullied. I do, however, believe that Christians are not being bold. It's been far too long that, those who practice a lifestyle of homosexuality
have leaned on the Word of God which states, "God is love". (1 John 4:8) When in fact, if one would read 1 John Chapters 3 & 4, one would find that the people of God are being admonished to stand against false prophets as well as love one another in the manner that God had set forth previously. He commanded that we should love thy neighbor as thyself. (Mark 12:31) Whoever does not love his neighbor does not know God. Now, you notice, the text did not say Lust after your neighbor nor did it say abide in unnatural affection with your neighbor. These are nothing more than seducing spirits caused by deep inflicted wounds of emotional hurt. Whatever happened to you was not your fault but you felt rejected, and abused. No doubt you listened to the lies of others and have allowed it to guide your mental state. So now you search for acceptance. Once found, you began a mission of unrighteous protocol and now expect everyone else to accept your life of rebellion. As for the other questions at hand. I would not be a Christian in hiding. I am not afraid of Jezebel!!! Celebrity status is temporary, but God status is eternal. In the society in which we live, it is popular to be called and or say that "I am a Christian". Christian means to be Christ like. Meaning there should be a standard in the life you live. Holiness is the standard. God is love. It's the very essence of who HE is. But He is also a God of balance. He loves you the person but He also hates the mess we as a people abide in.

Bible believing Christians can „not just look the other way, and say that gay marriage is simply a personal choice. We must follow what the bible says about gay marriage. God defines homosexual offenders as among the wicked. The penalty for homosexual is death, to both parties. They have bought it upon themselves.( Leviticus 20:13)
God does not just talk about gay sex sin, but also fornication, and adultery. Don't you know that those things are have no share in the kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves, those who live immoral lives, who are Idol worshipers, adulterers, or homosexuals _ Will have no share in the kingdom, neither will thieves, or greedy people, drunkards, slanderers or robbers. God loves us all but hates our sin.

I certainly believe that society is attempting to apply pressure to the point that Christians are beginning to compromise, in terms of just not saying anything. We all know that we must take a stand, as not taking a stand equates to agreeing with the situation.
I too am grieved by how our President is being pressured to go along with the "freedom of choice" just to appease everyone. And I agree some celebrities especially Christian celebrities are going by, just to get by, for the most part. I personally disagree with this. God created man for woman and that's the bottom line. I also believe that the church has compromised on so many levels that the church is beginning to turn a death ear and blind eye to the blatant sin. The word of God tells us in 2 Chronicles 14(paraphrase) that we Christians have the responsibility to repent as it refers to "my people" and to pray and then the land will be healed. Therefore we as Christians must take a stand. I personally have no problem with stating that I hate the sin of homosexuality but not the individual and God's Word is true and every man (who walks contrary to the word of God) is a liar.
Elder Lisa Ross I believe that the Christian celebrities are being bullied, because they have to make money and it‟s certain things they have to do and say so that they can get their money. Some celebrities won‟t even let the world know that they are a Christian, because they are afraid that people won‟t like them anymore. They lose points with the people. We regular Christians, like me, can care less what people think about us. I don't have anything to lose. For one thing, I know where my help and strength comes from. I know whose I am. We as true believers whether we are celebrities or not, we better stand for what is right and do what is right.. Because people don't have a heaven or hell to put us in. Wrong is wrong and right is right! Let‟s stand for what is right. Jesus is real and God is God, the author and the finisher of our faith. God has the last say so, YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT!
