The Stand We Take Can Mean A Life We Can Save. A Good Stand For God Is Better Than A Bad Stand For The Devil Any Day! Where Do You Stand, Who’s On The Lord’s Side? Smile By Darlene Thompson

GREETINGS FRIENDS AND FAMILY; I pray all is well with you and yours. Did you all have a Happy Easter or should I say did you celebrate the Resurrection of our lord and savior Jesus Christ? My Sunday was filled with mixed emotions. While feeling so grateful that Jesus died and rose again just for me, I felt sadness as well, because this is the first Easter without my mom. As the holidays approach, it seems so hard for me to grasp the fact that I can’t pick up the phone and call her. People say that it get easier as time goes by, I’m praying that God gives me strength to make it through the holidays. In the midst of my sadness I was able to enjoy a wonderful day at church. A lot of people gave their lives to Jesus. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday as well. We can ALL celebrate that THE TOMB IS EMPTY AND HE IS RISEN! Now let’s talk about last month’s issue…all I can say is WOW! Dr. Ethel James story was phenomenal! She wasn’t afraid to be transparent about her life and that is what hurting souls need to hear/read. We sometimes walk around like we have it all together and it makes people afraid to share their problems with you, so they suffer in silence. When you are able to put yourself aside and share what you have gone through, it draws so many people closer to God. What we think is a mess is a message to someone else. Dr. James touched so many lives with her story last month. If you have not taken the time to read it, order a copy or go online and read it. Also if you have not ordered her book WHEN SPRITUAL PARENTS WOUND..you need to order that too.

We had a lot of great stories in last month’s issue. Now here we are in April and yes Sarah is filled with more great testimonies, business, food, and encouraging words. On the cover of this month’s issue is young man that has been through a lot, but he chose to share with us his Victory! John Williams was featured on the cover of Sarah in 2013. He talked about fitness, now he’s back to share fitness as well as his triumphs. Throughout the magazine you will see other young people sharing their stories. We sometimes are so focused on all the young people that are out there breaking the law. I decided to feature young people that are doing something to build the kingdom of God. Read their stories and support them, let them know that they are appreciated. In closing; I sent out these questions in an email to a lot of people and I wanted some feedback on it. Some were able to expound on it, but I would like to your answers on the word FAITH. These were my questions: What Is Faith To You? How Deep Is Your Faith? What If God Told You To Give Up Something, Would You Do It? How Many Of Us Have Stepped Out On What We Call Faith, Only To Find That When Things Got To Hard, You Gave Up. What Is Faith To You? Write to me, we use that word so much, but are we really walking in Faith??

God bless

HE LIVES!

by Deacon Antwan Beaden-Leach

R

esurrection Sunday was celebrated on April 5, 2015. Why was it important and what does it mean to you? Well, if you read 1 Corinthians 15, you will see that Paul was writing to the Corinthian church because they questioned whether Christ really was resurrected from death. This passage is very interesting because it lays the foundation of our beliefs that Christ was born, lived, died, and raised from the dead. But why is that so important? Just think about it. Have you ever lost someone in death? We all have. But you know that your loved one no longer is breathing. There is nothing you can do about it. However, when Christ died, His Father was so powerful that He raised His Son from the dead. We can’t do that. So what does that tell you? That God is so powerful that He can bring the dead back to life! Another reason why it is important is because without that knowledge that you know Christ died for OUR sins and raised from the dead, where would our faith be? Where would our hope be? There would be none because Christ would be dead and that would be it. We would still be living in sin! How sad is that! What kind of future would we have? Well, we are already seeing it. People have the philosophy to live and let live because we will die tomorrow. (1 Corinthians 15:32, paraphrased) People don’t care that they are living a perverse life. In fact, some of it acceptable and they feel they are right!

W

ithout Christ, who would we tell of our sorrows and pain? Well, you can’t tell your pain to a statue. You can’t gain any hope out of a dark situation if the person you tell has no hope either. Life would very dark without

the knowledge that there is God who loves me and will guide me out of my dark places. Can a statue do that?

C

hrist lives and because He Lives, our future is hopeful, our faith stronger, our beliefs elevated! It may be dark sometimes, but there is a hope that if God can bring life to His Son (or anything dead) that my chance is coming! Now, what does this mean to you? Well think about a situation in your life where YOU thought that it was hopeless and you had nowhere to go. If you are reading this, you came out of it! But how? Did you cry out to a god you wasn’t sure of to help? When you hit the bottom, the only thing you can do is LOOK UP! You came out of your situation, but did you thank Him for it? It is by His Grace that you came out of it. If He wasn’t alive, would He be able to do that? I believe that for the cross that He had to carry, was the weight of ALL my sins. For the beating He was subjected to was to cleanse me of that sin. For the cross He hung and died on was to show the world that I am clean. And for His Resurrection, that I am reborn, a new life, a life in Him.

H

ow can you believe in something that is dead and can’t do anything for you? I believe in a Living God, who sacrifice Himself to give me a better life…

What do you believe?

Exodus 12:25-27 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, what mean ye by this service? That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

Exodus 34:25 "You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread, nor is the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover to be left over until morning.

Numbers 9:6-13 But there were some men who were unclean because of the dead person, so that they could not observe Passover on that day; so they came before Moses and Aaron on that day. Those men said to him, "Though we are unclean because of the dead person, why are we restrained from presenting the offering of the LORD at its appointed time among the sons of Israel?" Moses therefore said to them, "Wait, and I will listen to what the LORD will command concerning you." John 11:55 Now the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the Passover to purify themselves.

Moses therefore said to them, "Wait, and I will listen to what the LORD will command concerning you."

Ezra 6:19-21 And the children of the captivity kept the Passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month. For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves. And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat,

Luke 2:41-42 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

Matthew 26:17-19 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the Passover? And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at thy house with my disciples. And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the Passover.

Health Courage And Love John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world

Matthew 26:28 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed [it], and brake [it], and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Remember what the Lamb of God sacrificed for our sins. Have you forgiven those that have not treated you fair? I can understand it’s so hard to forgive when the flesh is weak, but through the strength of our Lord all things all possible. Have a Blessed Resurrection Dr. Calvinia Williams, D.D. ENDOMETRIOSIS By SFC(R) Keith A. Collins, MBA/MSPM

Although our mission is to promote Breast Cancer/Cancer awareness and prevention, we have been alerted to a very debilitating condition which there is currently no cure called Endometriosis. To date, there are more than 6.3 million women in the U.S. and more than 1 million in Canada that have been diagnosis with this most terrible disease. According to the Mayo Clinic, the primary symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain, often associated with your menstrual period. Although many women experience cramping during their menstrual period, women with endometriosis typically describe menstrual pain that’s far worse than usual. They also tend to report that the pain has increased over time.

One Team/One Fight!

Faith to me is when you don't know what is going to happen good or bad, But you have the faith that God has everything in Control. Waiting patiently is something we are not willing to do. But as I look to the hills where my help comes from and have the faith that God can see far in the future when I just see what is in front of me then I realize my Faith is growing. If God told me to give up something that I may think is important to me my flesh would say no but my spirit would say yes. I learn to realize that everything I have belongs to God. It is because of his grace and Mercy that he allows me to use anything. He is an Awesome God! Getting out of self is the only way that we can have Faith in God. As We Know Faith Is The Substance Of Things Hoped For The Evidence Of things Not Seen. Hebrews 11:1. Even though I have come a long way I still have a long way to go in my Faith. So as I grow older in Christ I realize that I must have Faith if I am going to

make it through this tedious journey. Yes We Will Lose Loved ones on the way, but with Faith we will know that one day we will see them again. One day it maybe you or me, But one day we all can meet the Lord In The Air and Live Forever More. Once we fully realize that We Don't Have to give up anything because God Owns everything, and if you are one of His then you are a heir to the Throne. So We Walk By Faith And Not By Sight And God Will Make everything Alright...... "This Is What Faith Means To Me."

Young People With A Purpose Working To Build The Kingdom

In the world there are a problems, people are hurting, people are empty, and some people are very alone drowning in depression, abuse, shame and pain. People are broken, many are lost. What they need is hope, healing, love, they need a SAVIOR. They need someone who will lay down their life, someone who has heard God’s call and bring Jesus to the world. What they need is a LIFEGUARD, saving lives Gods way! The Lord called two young ladies from their mother’s womb. Their lives were always different. They never fitted into the norm and knew they had a call of God on their lives. Their paths would cross in 2004, this is a divine connection and the Lord birthed a powerful ministry in their hearts. Tremia Cox received Christ at an early age, totally surrendered her ability to dance at the age of 14, and has been in “hot” pursuit of Christ ever since. Having been blessed with this unique way of expressing the “heart of the Father”, Tremia does not hold back as she goes forth in the presence of God’s people. The Lord gave her the opportunity to travel outside of the United States to Japan, and South Africa. The Lord placed a burden on her heart to raise-up worshipers (both men and women) who will be spirit-led and able to discern the times of God in accurate music and prophetic movement and expression. Tremia has sought to establish an atmosphere of limitless worship in beauty and reverence across the body of Christ, resulting in an extraordinary outpouring of His Spirit and its benefits. Her vision is to see a continuous

Young People With A Purpose Working To Build The Kingdom reflection of Heaven through the Arts as worshipers harken their ears to the Spirit of God. As the Lord was preparing Tremia He was doing a powerful work in Naomi Mendoza. Naomi received Christ at an early age but totally surrendered at the age of seventeen and entered into full time ministry. She was a part of Word of Power Ministries that held evangelistic crusades in Mexico. The Lord was getting her ready as He trained her in the prophetic and deliverance ministries to accurately know His voice. Naomi, saw God move in signs and wonders and it just made her hungry for more of His presence! She became a licensed and ordained minister in 2007. She attended Fountain Gate Institute and received her diploma in Ministerial Studies in the same year. Throughout the years she has become a dynamic teacher who is humbled by the wonderful gift of revelation in the Word of God. She brings the word of the Lord that inspires, equips, and establishes God’s people, so that they can be activated to fulfill their destiny. Naomi desires to see generation's young and old Restored, Awakened, Saved, and walking in the fullness of their callings. Both Tremia and Naomi gave their hearts to the Lord and vowed to give their lives and their youth to the Lord; by saying "yes" to Jesus the Lord used them in mighty ways. The Lord was preparing them like Esther in the bible at a young age to save generations for such a time as this. They had the opportunity to attend RAMP School of ministry founded by Karen Wheaton and travel to Israel and Barbados for the work of the ministry. In 2011 the LifeGuard Center was founded by Naomi Mendoza and Tremia Cox. They believe the Lord has called the LifeGuard Center to touch the city of Tucson and lives around the world with the fire and power of God. They heard the clarion call and said "YES" without hesitation to stand and be a beacon of light in the city. They understand the call for unity among the Body of Christ is vital. The waters of America are tainted with a plague of vile pornographic images, abortion and ultimately the yeast of compromise which has spread into our churches like an infection; which has been infecting the Body of Christ for many years. They believe there is a remnant that is crying out in the desert for holiness and purity, for righteous indignation, and God fearing leaders. God is looking for those that will not bow down to Baal but for those that will take a stand for righteousness, those that have a clean heart and pure hands.

Young People With A Purpose Working To Build The Kingdom The LifeGuard Center promotes and pursues the uniting of generations and to bring hope to the hopeless. Their focus is to ignite a spiritual awakening of the Holy Spirit in their City, Nation, and Around the World. LifeGuard Center presents the gospel of Jesus Christ through various outreach functions, such as: Worship Nights, Fine Art productions and Leadership Gatherings. Naomi & Tremia have devoted their time to mentoring and equipping. Their hearts are to be a lifeline to people, regardless of age or circumstances. It is the cry of their hearts to see the Body of Christ, what the Lord intended it to be. Right now the church is weak but if we come into agreement, work together as one, and put our programs and agendas aside, change will come to this nation like we have never seen before. It’s possible for the Lord's holy fire to sweep across this nation like a wildfire with no boundaries starting from city to city and then state to state. Tremia and Naomi are willing to dig those wells once again in Tucson, Arizona where great revivalist have come such as A.A. Allen, William Branham, and many more. “We shall stand on the shoulders of those that have left a legacy. It’s time to merge the old and the new, we cannot forget the old we always must remember our history." If the Lord can use two young single ladies He can surly use you! It’s about laying your life before the Lord giving Him everything; yes there’s a price to pay but it’s worth it all. Jesus Will Never Leave You Nor Forsake You; His presence is worth it all!

Healthy Hair Tips With Urfavstylist

By: Dianna "Urfavstylist" Grissette

Does My Hair Look Dry? How Can I Get My Hair Shiny? Do I Need A Treatment? These are often questions that I hear on a daily basis. A multitude of women have returned back to natural. We have abandoned straighter and shinier for short and dull. It's hard enough learning to style your new TWA (Teenie Weenie Afro), but now you also have to worry about looking like you've been broiled on 500째 for an hour! I'm talking about dull, lifeless ,no imagination having, shineless hair. What Do You Do? The first thing we need is to realize is where shine comes from. Shine is simply a reflection of light. The next thing we need to realize is that to have reflection you must have a flat surface. For example; a shiny car, a mirror, or freshly painted fingernails. Flat surfaces allow light to be easily reflected. Hair with high amounts of texture usually don't have smooth flat surfaces. To create smooth surfaces for shine sometimes we have to use specific techniques and or products.

All hair has an outer layer called cuticles. Cuticles are almost like scales they lay similar to the way the roofing of a house does. Straight or wavy hair has cuticles that lay down naturally creating a smooth and flat surface. Curly and coily hair consists of cuticles that are always slightly lifted because of the curls structure. Without the smooth flat cuticles of straight hair you won't have natural shine. Thank God or hair product! Although curly and coily hair may lack the ability to shine, there are many things we can do to create and maintain the shiny look that we desire. Here are some ways to get your natural hair shiny: 1. WATER! - Drinking water allows you to be properly hydrated. A hydrated body will produce sebum to help condition and shine hair naturally. 2. HOT OIL/CONDITIONING TREATMENT- Hot oil and conditioning treatments help to seal in moisture. These treatments can help to hydrate hair and create an illusion of shine. 3. MOISTURE- Moisturizing your hair should be a piece of cake. Being familiar with your hair will allow you to know how often you should moisturize. I recommend at least twice a week and more if needed. Nuggets That Nurture Spring In With No FEAR Elder V. William Price

S

pring is here at least in the southwest it is, so the calendar tells us. Flowers are starting to bloom, leaves are back on the trees, and the birds are chirping and singing everywhere. It is that special time of the year where new life is popping up everywhere, what was dormant is now alive and thriving. In the life of the believer we have a spring time and it is not based on a calendar, but rather on the time of God’s seasons of deliverance and destiny. However, we some time miss out on the destiny or deliverance that God has for us because of one word: FEAR. Sometimes it is delayed because of one simple four letter word that paralyzes us like Goliath did the Israelite army; FEAR. When it comes to fear, we are told not to have it, or better yet do not let it have you. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (KJV) Just to make it clear read the NLT version, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” God will

keep you, and protect you! He has your back! Let us identify some reasons why we do not walk into God’s blessings, the ordained plan for our life, or into the destiny that has been prophesied to us at some point in our past. Then we will look at how we should act or what we should do to walk by faith into what is OURS. You may have heard of one or more of these definitions F.E.A.R. before and if you have this is your reminder, and if not get ready to learn and be prepared to overcome that F.E.A.R. that has plagued you all these many months and years. Foundational Scripture: Isaiah 43:18-19 “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold I will do a new thing; NOW it shall spring forth; shall YOU not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” (KJV) “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness for MY people to come home. I will create rivers for them in the desert!” Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT) -You may ask why, but verse 21 tells us why. However, before we get to verse 21 let us talk about the wilderness. What is in the wilderness? Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!! The devil goes about as a roaring lion seeking who he can destroy.(1 Peter 5:8) In the wilderness you can become lost, disoriented because it seems like

you will never come out, but God will bring and declare His glory in the Earth. The destiny, you out with His mighty outstretched hand, just the new beginning that God has ordained for like He did Israel (Deuteronomy 26:8) you it is for YOUR good! The wilderness represents the fear, doubt, and anxiety, Oh my! The feelings we experience as we progress in any new endeavor. This is what God can and will bring us through if we have faith and keep pressing through with our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:1)

Before we go any further let us go back to Isaiah 43:21 and find out why God would do anything for us. “This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.” God made you to give Him glory and praise! Yes you, no matter what you have done in the past, God can and will use you to get glory if YOU let Him. He made you for a one of a kind praise. No one else can give God the glory you can. So it is time to spring into your destiny and give Him the glory as you go.

From the Bible we will define the word fear. Fear: Greek – 2 TIM 1-7; deilia DI-LEEAH – timidity – fear; faithless: fearful ROM 8:15; phobos – FOBOS – to be put in fear; alarm, or fright: be afraid, + exceedingly, fear, Now let’s address fear. There are three terror. PSALMS 27:1 [Yare] YAW-RAY; fear/ primary types we have to face down: afraid – revere & phachad (PHAW-CHAD) to F.E.A.R.-1 = FALSE EVIDENCE be startled, to fear in general: - be afraid, stand in awe. APPEARING REAL ‘The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?’ (KJV) Psalm 27:1 From the NLT, The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Now read it like this aloud to yourself, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I be afraid? Who shall I revere/honor? The Lord is the strength of my life; of shall I stand in awe?” Psalms 27 reminds us to keep our focus on God despite those things that come against us, real or imagined. They are nothing compared to the awesomeness of God, who He is and what He can and will do for me. Knowing that God is on our side should comfort us, encourage us, and challenge us to press into our new beginnings, into our destiny, into our future that God has planned out for us, knowing that HIS plan is to give us hope, to make us hope for someone else,

What we say: “If I used to, I probably will again” “I am righteous before God, but I remember what I used to do”. What others say; “You saved? Yeah right!” “No one can live holy” “I know you and what we used to do.” There is all this circumstantial evidence against us that says we cannot live for God, but the blood of Christ shed on Calvary erases, negates, cancels, and supersedes that evidence. The blood of Jesus shed for US covers us and makes acceptable to God, His sacrifice (Jesus) paid the penalty for sin and acquits us. “If the son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” JESUS (John 8:36KJV) “So if the Son liberates you—makes you free men—then you are really and unquestionably free.” (AMP) JESUS DROPPED THE CHARGES!!!!!! Evidence we are no longer the same: I AM the righteousness of God in Christ –

2 Corinthians 5:21 & Romans 5:21 with God and they shaped his reality. He knew I AM a child of God by faith in Christ – with The Lord on His side he could take out Galatians 3:26 Goliath. Child of God YOU must know that God is on your side, and together you can I AM saved by grace through faith in Christ overcome the giant in your life known as fear. – Ephesians 2:8 Moses could not bring the Israelites out into I AM a NEW creature in Christ, the OLD their new beginnings until he had spent time has passed and is gone and I AM made NEW! with God. He thought he was unqualified, but God to forgive US, when we repent. Forget – (Hebrew) shakach or shaeach SHA-KAKH or SHAW-KAY-ACH, to mislay, to be oblivious of, from want of memory or attention, cause to forget There are many benefits to knowing the Word of God and knowing the God of the Word. The more we know about what God says about us and what we can do, the more we believe it and begin to act on it. The Psalmist in Psalm 103:2 encourages us to bless the Lord and forget not all his benefits (see verses 3 and 4 for some of those benefits). Most times blessing Him is not a problem, forgetting His benefits some time is, but forgetting what He said, and what His Word says can be detrimental to our faith walk.

only come from the voice of the preacher. Speak life, courage and strength to yourself! Say what God says about you! Jesus did! Jesus affirmed himself in the Book of John seven times; “I am the Bread of Life” (6:35&48), “I am the Light of the World”(8:12), “I am the Door”(10:9), “I am the Good Shepherd”(10:11&14), “I am the Resurrection”(11:25), “I am the True vine”(15:1), “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”(14:6). Just as Jesus affirmed Himself, we need to affirm who we are in Christ, according to the Word of God. I am the head and not the tail. I am MORE than a conqueror. I am an over comer and I can do all things through Christ. I have authority in Christ. In Him I live and move and have my being. I am blessed coming in and going out. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I am PROMISE, I am POSSIBILITY, I am POTENTIAL according to the Word of God. I am confident that God who began a GOOD work in me will bring to completion when Jesus comes back for me. (Philippians 1:6)

Fear will make you forget what you have learned. The military knows this, the police, firefighters all know this, and that is why they train and train until they can respond to an emergency almost instinctively. We must do the same with the Word of God; we must meditate on it “night and day.” Our responses to life must come from what the Word says and not what we thought we heard, not myths, and folk tales, or Just as the Father told Israel through Isaiah even TV. You can miss your blessing because “Remember ye not the former things, neither you forgot what the Lord said to you. consider the things of old.” Your past is just that, you live in the present moving toward the Here are a couple of people who forgot what future. You can do it! Say what God says about God said and or did. Adam and Eve: Genesis you and believe it. It will likely be difficult, 2:15-17 & 3:1-6, The Children of Israel: Exodus but if it was easy anyone could do it. You are 4:29-31 & 14:1-14. Compare them to someone not just anyone, you are a citizen of God’s who believed and did not forget what God Kingdom, you are more than a conqueror, and had said, Abraham: Genesis 12:1-3 & 15:1-6, you are well able to live and do for God and Romans 4:16-22. Our forgetfulness frustrates give Him glory. Take it from one who has dealt God, read Matthew 16:8-10 – Luke 24:1-8, 13- with the past fought with fear and missed many 26. Fear will aggravate your responses to God’s a blessing because of fear. Yes, me, I know what leading. Exodus 16, 17:1-5. it is to fear and I learned to fight it off, not in SOMETIMES WE JUST HAVE TO TALK my strength, but in Him and His Word. I leave you with two last scriptures and a confession TO OURSELVES of faith. YOU ARE GOD’S SOMEBODY When fear comes, talk to yourself and not ON THE WAY TO BLESS SOMEONE AND your fear. Recite the Word. Read it out loud. Faith MAKE A DIFFERENCE! comes by hearing the Word; nothing says it can

Psalm 56:4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Psalm 118:6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? A Confession of Faith Over Fear I have no reason to fear because: I know Jehovah Shammah, the Lord who is always there and because Emmanuel the God who is with me knows me. Jehovah Shalom the Lord is my peace, our peace, He gives peace that surpasses all understanding; a peace that we keep when my mind, our minds stay on Him. The Lord is our strong tower, we the righteous can run in to Him and be safe. The Lord is my strong tower; because I am righteous I can and will run in to Him and be safe. The Lord is my very present help in the time of trouble and in the time of trouble He WILL hide me! I will fear no evil for He is with me and He comforts me. I will not be afraid by what I see and hear. I will trust in the Lord and not lean on the world. I have the Spirit of God in me, not the spirit of fear. I have faith in God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit who is more than able to keep me!

Young People With A Purpose Working To Build The Kingdom

Hi my name is Latasharose Keys; I was Born and raised in the church House. I knew at an early age that I loved God and his son Jesus. I also knew that I wanted to be a Model, and a Star When I was 5 years old I knew I wanted to be a model I would look inside of Essence Magazine and Ebony Magazine. And See all the beautiful Ladies posing dressed from head to toe in the magazines. I told my mother I wanted to do what these ladies are doing. I would go into my mother's closets and play in her high heels, pearl necklaces and costume jewelry. I would play dress up in my older sister’s Dresses and Hats then I would turn on the CD player, play Janet Jackson's music and pretend I was Naomi Campbell. I would prance and parade around the house practicing, posing like in the women in the magazines. I wasn't shy to do this around my family because they thought it was cute or funny. So I would get laughs and responses with sayings like “You Go Girl!” “Girl You Just A Glow On You”. “Child That One Right There Is Serious About It, Look At Her Working Her Hands With Those Gloves!” “ Girl Look At Her Working That Hat Isn't She Smooth With Her Little Self . “ These were things my mother, friends, and other family members would say. By age 8 years old my Mother started noticing that I was always practicing walking like a model, loving to take family photos and always over doing it with extra poses. So she decided to take me to Casting Images to begin my path with modeling. What I learned from the agency was to develop thick skin at a young age, walk with less rhythm, Straighten my curly hair, Speak proper English, Smile as you speak, and have perfect posture. When I turned 14 years old I signed with John Robert Powers Agency.

Young People With A Purpose Working To Build The Kingdom With this agency, I learned professional modeling techniques, acting lessons, proper etiquette, how to pose for the camera, how to pose on the runway for photos, and how to present yourself for a go see. Being a Model is hard work just like any other professional profession. You have to invest a lot of time, learn patients and have a good attitude always. I love modeling, over the years, I have model for many different agencies. My goal is to model in Italy, France and Japan. I am also a signature model for Brigandis Inc. I always put God first in all that I do. I want young ladies to know that you can be successful, but don’t compromise your walk with Christ. Put God first in everything that you do!

Latasharose Keys Latasharose will be featured in one of the upcoming Sarah magazines. She will share her complete story of triumphs and trials as a Christian model. Choices 280 – thereallrpk@gmail.com

Our Featured Story

John Williams

I wrote this article to inspire young and old that it is never too late to make a change in your life. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13, NKJV) I’ve been through a lot but through Christ anything is possible!

Where I came from, what I have been through, and who I have become today is truly a blessing. “…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Roman 12:2, NKJV) I have not been conformed in this world, but transformed into a man of God. He has given me the strength to push forward and go for the things I really want to do in life, such as model, acting and entertaining. This is what I love! It is in my blood to succeed and be better in life!

I’ve been employed with 10/31 Productions. I have been working the haunted hayride You can, not you can’t! along with the west coast and toured the great It took me a while to get it together. All my horror campout that was aired on TV show life I grew up modeling, entertaining and series Shark Tank. It was a blast working for making music, but was always confused on them. I’m currently doing a TV show series what I wanted to do. I was so talented in many that is coming out soon. I’ve been in several things. Just recently I started doing the things different modeling shows as well as writing I love, the things I do best. What are you good and recording music. I still personal train on at? What is your purpose? Who do you really the side. want to be? Whatever it is, go get it! I love working out and helping others get Being born and raised in Sacramento, in shape. I am a certified personal trainer California wasn’t easy. There were a lot (NASM certified, ISSA certified, AED/CPR of things I had to learn and go through on certified). I’ve managed more than 5 gyms my own before I truly understood what my and a personal training team, as well as having purpose was in life. I made good choices my own clients to train and getting them to as well as bad choices. Had it not been for their results. Growing up, I had always loved the covering of The Lord, I wouldn’t be here sports so working out was also something I today! Thank you, Jesus for not leaving me! also loved doing. I had to commit and dedicate myself to my workouts. Before becoming a I thank You for giving me strength and personal trainer, I had to get serious about knowledge through the struggle. Thank you changing my life first before trying to help for blessing my mother, Victoria Carradine, others. with the strength to raise her two sons. Being a single parent and a woman raising Every client that has stayed with me through two boys isn’t an easy thing to do at all! What the tough times has received their results and did she teach her boys? How did she show her are still gaining better results today. I’ve had sons how to be men? How did she manage over 200 clients and helped each one of them to do these things? If it wasn’t for her and all have achieved their goals! If you’re ready of her teachings, I wouldn’t be here today! and committed to change your life, I’ll go the Thank you, Jesus, for blessing her with the extra mile for you to make sure you reach your strength to raise her two sons properly. I love goals and provide what you need. and honor her!

I will end this by telling you that even when the going gets tough, keep going! There’s something better. Your results are waiting there for you on the other side. Stop lying to your body, telling it that you’re going to start tomorrow or the next day or the next day after that. Your body is sick of hearing that! It is sick of being the way it is. Make your body better! Remember that your body is your temple, treat it right, and eat right and workout hard! Stay positive and tell yourself you look great as you are seeing changes. YOU CAN DO THIS! I PROMISE! Let us not forget health and fitness is key! We as people need to realize we are what we speak. Let us start being positive and reaching out for what we want in life. Whatever you can believe you can achieve. I will also be leaving you with a few nutritional facts as well as motivational quotes for you to get you through the day. Feel free to email or call me for advice or even a motivational talk. The money doesn’t matter to me; when I help it is from the heart. Changing your life changes mine, too! It makes me happy to know that I’ve helped someone. I cannot take your money with me when I die, but I can take the memory of the lives I affected! Live, love life, and stay humbly blessed and confident every day. “Who are you truly destined to be, and why haven’t you gone and got it yet?” What-

ever it is that is going to help you be a better person, you do it. You only live once so why not live now. I am! I have been in the 2013 Sarah magazine and proud to say I’m featured once again for 2015. I love what I do and I wanted to share it with you. I wouldn’t change it for the world! Thank God for blessing me! LOVE YOU ALL!

still have tips and motivational words to help you through the days with your health and fitness. Let’s start by boosting our motivation. To get the best out of our workouts, we are what we think. If you think you can do it, then that’s correct, you can! If you think you can’t then, the truth is, you won’t. One of the best quotes I live by is “you have to do what others won’t, so tomorrow you will be able to do what others can’t.” So don’t quit!! I

1. To get strong and lean, perform an up-tempo workout by alternating with a strength move (using weights or resistance bands), mixed with a cardio workout (high knees, stair steppers, jumping jacks, etc.) 2. Walking everyday helps as well. The more steps we take, the healthier we are likely to be. 3. Try bodyweight exercises: no weights, no equipment. Go for a run, yoga, or home exercises. 4. Sometimes, skip the treadmill by doing other things to shock your muscles, such as Zumba classes, swimming etc. It will keep the body guessing. 5. Stay focused while working out. Never check your phone or emails in between sets. You have a job to do, so do it! 6. Exercise machines are basically training wheels to get you ready for free weights (dumbbells, kettle bells etc.) Once you are pretty much use to that, move to the next level. Shock your body! 7. It’s always great to have a workout partner. 8. Getting a personal trainer also is key. You can never push yourself harder than someone else can.

9. Set realistic goals for yourself and stay committed. 10. When working out, never rush and always focus on form and technique. 11. Never forget to warm up for about 5 minutes before your intense workouts. 12. Never walk into the gym just doing any exercise. Ask questions or ask for help. Don’t risk wasting your time in the gym not knowing what you’re doing. Or risk getting hurt by following the biggest guy in the gym. 13. Every workout isn’t for everybody. You have your own body so you will need a workout specifically designed for your body and your goals. 14. Always track your progress and take pictures, that way you can see your changes on your own. 15. Habits don’t just happen, they are formed. Decide when you will have time for exercise, morning, afternoon etc. Don’t stress! There is no right time to work out because everyone is different. 16. Don’t straddle the line with wanting to get fit and actually doing it. Do a 30 day challenge. That usually helps you to get into the workout game faster. 17. Drink a 1/2 a gallon to a gallon of water per day. The more water you consume, the less you retain. 18. Always do your workout before your 30 min cardio. (Workout, then cardio) 19. Twenty minutes a day twice per week will also help the entire body. 20. Make sure you follow an effective exercise routine.

Hello friends, family and fellow readers of Sarah magazine. I would like to first give honor to God for blessing me with another day and to be able to write in this magazine once again. I would like to mention that without You, none of this would be possible. Thank you for giving me the strength every day to not give up and be better. You have blessed me with this day and for that I will rejoice and be happy in it. I would like to start this off by saying today I will do what others won’t. So tomorrow I will be able to do what others can’t! It’s NEVER TOO LATE, NEVER TOO LATE TO PURSUE YOUR DREAM! We tend to stress about the problems we have when we should know that all we have to do is believe and give our problems to God. I am a true and firm believer that wherever the mind goes, the man follows. In other words, as you think so are you! I want to talk to you today about thinking and speaking positively. As it states in Matthew 12:33 (AMP), “either make the tree sound (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad), for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit.” The tree is known by its fruit, think good thoughts and the fruit in your life will be good, think bad thoughts and the fruit in your life will be bad. I have friends and family members that speak of death like life has no meaning to it. It is like they don’t want to see another day, they just gave up! They forgot that right thinking

is a vital necessity, something you can’t live without! After all that He has given us doesn’t give us the right to quit or be something less than what we are destined to be. THIS IS THE DAY, the day I give all my problems to the Lord. Sick, wounded, depressed, stressed, whatever the problem is, give it to The Lord. Show Him that you are everything He intended you to be. Know that through Christ anything is possible. What’s your purpose? • Tomorrow isn’t promised, do something, anything that’s makes you happy. • What’s your purpose in life? Who are you supposed to be • Nobody said life would be easy. If it were, that would be boring. • Today is the day! The day I live my life. • Thank you Jesus for all that you have given me. Through you, I can conquer anything!

I AM VICTORY!

I’m tired! I’m tired of being that perfect time and average. I’m tired of working the same jobs that I don’t want. I’m tired of people saying I opportunity. can’t. I’m tired of being too comfortable. I’m Stop being too tired of hanging around the same friends that’s comfortable and not doing anything with their lives to get any satisfied. How come better. I’m tired of my friends not believing you’re not tired? in me. I’m tired of my family not believing in What’s going to keep me. I’m just tired of this wall, Jesus! This wall you in the game? If has stopped many and very few have climbed you’re not where you wanna be in life, it has over. I am a man of God, His child and He nothing to do with anyone but you. There’s is my Savior. No weapon formed against me 86,400 seconds in a day. I will believe what shall prosper; no wall shall keep me from what you have, doubted weakness, will not be in my I’m truly meant to be in life. Jesus lives with- heart. There are 86,400 seconds in a day, so in me. With Him ..I don’t have to fear. I don’t I will conquer what you have not conquered; have to worry. I don’t have to doubt. I don’t what they have not conquered. Defeat will have to say “what if” I don’t make it? With not be in my creed. I have trained my mind Jesus there›s guaranteed victory, with Jesus I and my body will follow. WHO AM I? I AM don’t have to say I’m about to climb over this VICTORY! wall. I got the strength to say I’m gonna run There is no battle that won’t be won, there is through it! no mountain I won’t climb! I will embrace my Some may climb, some may go around, some

pain, because one day my pain will be a part of my prize. WHO AM I ? I AM VICTORY! THERE is 86,400 seconds in a day. Leave no dream left behind ! It’s easy to be a loser ...easy.....easy!!! All greatness is a lot of small things done well day after day. You have to be tired of being comfortable. I want to be fearless! I want to mess up in life so other people don’t have to go through it. WHO AM I? I AM VICTORY ! When things don’t go your way, what’s going to keep you strong? What’s your purpose? Yea, I know nobody believes in you, nobody believes in me either and believe me that’s a lonely, lonely feeling. But who am I ? I AM KING! IN ORDER TO GET THE THINGS YOU NEVER HAD, YOU GOTTA DO THINGS YOU NEVER DONE! I gotta think outside the box, I gotta be remembered in this work. My life has to have value. I’ve prepared myself for the storm and if my boat sinks, I’ll swim to the other side. Yea, I may get tired, I may lose my breath. Heck, I can’t even swim too good ...but I won’t die in this water! WHO AM I? I AM VICTORY! Let me explain this again to you because you may be hearing me, but you’re not listening. There are 24 hours in a day, so what about what you’ve done yesterday? So what you’re rich, so what you’re a champion, so what you’re MVP, that don’t mean nothing! What you gonna do after that? What you gonna do to impact someone’s life? What are you going to do to make you better? What moves you? WHO AM I? I AM VICTORY! My friends and family, I will love, protect, and honor. My enemies will fall at my feet in the battle. The sword I carry is much sharper than any two edged sword you carry! WHO AM I? I’M A MAN OF GOD! You have to want success, you have to eat, sleep, and breathe success, because success with anything requires obsession! WHO AM I? I AM

VICTORY! We are all dying, but only a few of us are actually living. A 9-5 may work for you, but for me if I died today I’d be letting all my dreams die with me. That’s not in God’s plan. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve! WHO AM I? I AM KING! Our intension is everything. Allow your pain to push you to a place of greatness. Come to a place of clarity and make a choice of who you want to be. WHO AM I? I AM VICTORY! But you guys aren’t serious. You don’t want it like I want it, because if you did, you would be putting the time in. You talk about how bad you want it, but how much time have you spent working and beating on your craft? How much sleep have you lost because your appetite is so big for success? How much time? WHO AM I? I AM KING! What is your fear? Better yet, why do you fear? Why are you so worried about what might happen to you. What people might think, whose heart you will break, what friends you may lose. So what? Get over it! You have to program your mind or your mind will be programmed for you. This world we live in is a negative world and I won’t be involved in it. WHO AM I? I AM VICTORY! On my side, there is Jesus. The Lord has been there with me. Through thick and thin; through sacrifice blood, sweat, and tears. Never will He let me down; never will He let me fall. This year, I will not be denied. Beliefs? Yes, belief will change my world. RETREAT, DEFEAT, QUIT? What’s that? I’ve never been taught those

words. What’s that? WHO AM I? I AM VICTORY! Today will be that day, not tomorrow, not next week. Right now, right here. I will define I. I will never go home not without giving all I got first. WHO AM I? I AM VICTORY! Everything I want, need, dreamed, worked, prayed, and cried for is right here! Why can’t I be the greatest? Why can›t I have it? Why not? WHO AM I? ....I AM, JOHN WILLIAMS

physician diagnosis and treatment of lupus, and better epidemiological data on lupus globally. The enclosed materials provide background information about lupus and its impact.

World Lupus Day- Lupus of Nevada’s Autoimmune Lupus Seminar Lupus groups around the world have united to sponsor the ninth World Lupus Day observance on May 10, 2015. At least five million people worldwide have lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that strikes mostly young women of childbearing age. World Lupus Day is held in most of the continents of the world including, North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. World Lupus Day will focus on the need for heightened public awareness, improved patient healthcare services, increased research into the causes of and a cure for lupus, enhanced

This year Lupus of Nevada will host a seminar featuring Dr. Djemel AitAzzouzene is a seasoned immunologist with thorough knowledge of immune tolerance in heath and systemic autoimmune diseases with emphasis on the mechanisms leading to immune tolerance failure in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in biochemistry, chemistry and Immunology from the Faculty of Sciences of Paris, and his Doctorate degree in immunology from the Faculty of Medicine of Paris, France. In the course of his studies, he investigated the mechanisms by which the immune system learn to avoid the destruction of self-tissues to further understand how defects in these processes can lead to progressive organs destruction in SLE.

The event will take place on Saturday May 9th at Lord of Harvest, from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm, at 2777 W Craig Rd., # 103, North Las Vegas, Nevada, 89032. All are welcome. Lupus affects more than just the person with the disease it also impacts their family, friends, and work colleagues. Still, it is widely under-recognized as a global health problem by the public, health professionals, and governments, driving the need for greater awareness. Early recognition, diagnosis and treatment of lupus help to slow the debilitating effects of the disease. However, lupus is often difficult to diagnose because symptoms frequently mimic common illnesses. Increasing awareness of lupus will save lives. World Lupus Day was first observed in 2004, and a number of special events were held to highlight its importance. Most significant was the issuing of the inaugural World Lupus Day Proclamation, recognizing this historic day and demonstrating concern for the needs of millions of individuals globally. This year, lupus organizations hope even more governments will sign and endorse the Proclamation. Please join the international effort to increase public awareness and understanding of lupus by promoting the 10th annual World Lupus Day. Donations for Lupus members; $15.00 - General public $25.00 for admission. Seating is limited.

Hi everyone, it’s Alexys here with Teen Talk Real Talk! How was everyone’s month? I went on a trip to Disneyland and that was just so much fun! I had a really fun-filled month! What did all you guys do? Anyone go out of city, state or even country? Did anyone have some type of break? I had Spring Break for a week which was great because we all need to relax at times. So this month, I want to talk about Faith.

Before we start, I have a question. What is Faith to you? We’ve all heard our parents and Spiritual leaders talk about this thing called ‘Faith’, but what do you know about it? To me, Faith is something that we have to have in order to show that we truly believe in God. We have

to trust and believe that God will provide for our every need; therefore we have Faith. In order to have a close relationship with Him, We Must Have Faith. Faith is extremely important because without it, we are like a ship without a sail. What is a ship without its sail? It’s just a big hunk of wood. What are we without Faith? We are just a normal person who is caught up in the natural world. I have another question; so how can we have Faith? Where do we get it from? I want all of you to stop and think about that question. I think we get Faith just by listening and believing God’s word. If we believe, we’ll just “gain” Faith. When we give our lives to Christ then we already start to connect with Him. Once we read the bible, understand it and then believe it with our hearts and minds then we have Faith! It’s not that hard to accept Christ into our lives and then listen to what he tells us to do. Once we can do all of that, then we will have Faith! So, why do teenagers not have Faith? Well there are a few reasons. One could be that they just ‘plain and simple’, don’t care. Another reason could be that we don’t know how. We just have to do what I mentioned earlier. Accept Him and believe He will do what He needs to do and… BAM! You have Faith! I think the last reason teens don’t have Faith is because they don’t TRULY believe. We need to make sure that we believe with our whole body that Christ can do it. At times you may want to give up but you can’t. We just have to place it all in God’s hands!

So I hope this helped anyone who doesn’t understand what Faith is or how it works. Just remember that when you have Faith, your eyes will be opened up to new things and God will open doors for you! Don’t forget to pray and love God! Bye!!! I want to hear from you, what are your thoughts on this subject? Email me at mysarahmagazine@gmail.com!!!! Don’t forget to pray and love God! Bye!

First of all, do as I say, not as I do (lol) because I haven’t followed one or two of these steps myself. Yet! So, before you run out to get a website, have business cards printed, etc. you really need to create your strategic marketing plan … But even before you do that, you actually need to find out if there’s a market for your business because it’s a WHOLE lot easier to supply demand than to CREATE it. Also, while you might be the best marketer on this planet, there may be 1,000,000 of them in your immediate area. Either get a USP that is light years better than anyone else’s or consider finding a niche. OK, now that you know there’s a demand for your product or service, you need to create a strategic marketing plan. If you don’t have a clue about how to do this, revisit the article I wrote for SARAH magazine. Once you’ve created your Strategic Marketing Plan, get your business REGISTERED with local, state and Federal departments, as required by law. You may also need to have a chat with the Internal Revenue Service (yep, Uncle Sam). You might also need to contact an attorney that specializes in registering intellectual property such as trademarks. It’s best to get all of this squared away at the early stages BEFORE you register your website and social media names rather than backtracking if you find out there’s a conflict with another established business. Now you need to decide on what your BUDGET is for your business. Remember too that if you plan to do this full-time (a leap), you will need to make sure that you can survive for at least two years as that’s generally how long it takes for most businesses to start making a profit. Do the math! OK, here’s the fun stuff! You need to create marketing materials such as business cards, your website and actually start with the nuts and bolts of creating social media accounts. Each one of those is an article in itself, but if you don’t have expertise with creating a website, or money to hire someone like me to do it for you, you’re going to need to spend time researching how to go about all this.

(I could totally give you my recommendations, but very little in life is free so you’ll either have to win the raffle for 45 minutes of brainstorming with me or you can book a 45 minute = $75 session if you’re keen to get started right away). OK, that’s the end of my ad for now, but that brings me closely to PROMOTION. We’re talking about business START-ups so I’m going to include some costeffective ways to get your name out there. 1. Use social media. It’s free! 2. Start blogging on your website and be sure to share the links on social media. Did I mention that it’s free? 3. Offer to write an article for a local newspaper so you can start building your bylines and media cred. 4. Offer a FREE workshop at a community center. 5. Pick a charity and agree to give them a certain percentage of your proceeds. Yeah, I know you want to MAKE money, but giving back to your community is a great way to get your name out there. Plus, it just feels good, right? You can do a co-event that lets you perhaps invite their target market. While I’m on the topic, your target market should CLOSELY align with the charity you select. As I said before, I could probably write a book on this topic, and someday I just might, but this should get you STARTED. That’s really the key to anything: the first step. Then just put one foot in front of the other!!! Author Bio: Renée Purdie is a Visual & Written Communications Expert with . Faith “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (KJV). Everyone quotes that scripture, but do they know what it REALLY means? I was reading a book that said that two artists were asked to paint a picture depicting faith. One painted a serene landscape, while the other painted a waterfall, a branch sticking out with a bird resting in his nest. Now that bird has an assurance that he would be okay in his nest! I believe that faith requires more of us. I feel that true faith is where you can ask The Father something, give it to Him, then walk away! Don’t worry about it or think about it. Just give it to The Father and walk away! I thought that I knew what faith was, but I really didn’t. Little things I would ask God about, then I would still think about it or worry and wander how I could fix it. It wasn’t until my oldest son, who is serving in the military, was going overseas to fight in a war. I prayed for his safety and his return to his family. Then, when I tried to walk away from that prayer of safety for my son, I still worried. So what was the prayer for?

I went back to God to repent, and I was so sorry because my worrying meant that I didn’t trust Him to take care of my request. But how to you let go of something that you have no control over and hand it over to God? You just do it! When I gave it to God, I walked away with a heavy load lifted off my shoulders. Did I think about it again? At first I did, but I said that God will handle it. So I just got in the habit of saying “God will handle it!” My son returned home to his family! Then, when my son changed duty stations, he had to go again! This time I knew better! I just asked God to take care of my son and that His Will would be done. Should He bring him home or “Bring Him Home”, give me what I needed to complete His Will. Then I let it go! I didn’t think about it anymore because I knew that God’s Will would be done. My son returned home to his family, again! Faith is not an easy thing to do. You need to know who God is and have confidence in who He is. Trust in Him, then walk away! Be that bird…don’t think about it!

Dear Uncle Charlie; I just realized that I probably never wrote you a letter. Ever. I’m so sorry, but I don’t feel as bad as I normally would because I know you’d forgive me, smile and say “Keep it moving!” Well, I’m going to write one now as so much is welling into my heart, even as tears trail down my cheeks. We spent the day talking about you, thinking about you and celebrating your life over the last few days. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing your presence on earth continue….through your children and grand-children and all the lives you touched I saw it in the… Twinly, years team spirited get-it-done way of Brett and Tyson. Steadfast manner of your son Brett, specifically, who offered to, and DID, help my Mom with a car repair (courtesy of lesson taught him) in the midst of sorrow. Sweetly, sardonic sense of humor you passed down which I heard loud and clear when Kathi asked Brett to do something he said: “I’ll get right on that” as he puts his feet up on the coffee table (smile; and I’m sure that he DID get to it). Behind the scenes, self-effacing, taking care of everyone styles of my lovely cousins Charly and Shanna. Devotion and love shinning in the eyes of your wife Kathi. Eyes of my Dad who has lost his only brother…his big brother, the person who knew him before he knew himself. You touched so many lives Uncle Charlie, from the people you hugged every day in your home to the people who you helped get homes during your work at the Tucson Urban League, that I would still be writing next year if I tried to catalog everyone and everything that you impacted. Truly no words can fill the void that has been left by your passing. Uncle Charlie. No words. But some of the words I have to describe you are: loyal, kind, steadfast, loving, gentle, wise, big hearted…the list goes on. Truly there are no words apart from your legacy lives on and you will be missed as long as we have breath. We look forward to seeing you again in heaven. Keep the light on for us. Love always, The Betters/Purdie Clan As expressed by Renée Purdie
