EDITOR’S LETTER
EDITOR'S NOTE GLOBAL REPRESENTATIVES
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS We are once again facing possibilities of a lockdown in Melbourne but our correspondents in the UAE seem have a much more normal life while following all the necessary protocols to stay safe. Hence, we have started to dedicate each issue to stories related to the World Expo in Dubai starting with a story on The Republic San Marino as the country gears up to get their pavilion ready in time for Expo 2020. These days every step we take seems like we are venturing into the unknown as there are uncertainties all around but seeing some of the dynamic countries take the first step to bring life to normal is refreshing. We greatly appreciate countries like Maldives and the UAE for keeping their economy open and respect how they put in measures to ensure safety measures are taken to keep everyone safe.

ith the Dubai Expo on the horizon, we are excited to find out more about San Marino, the oldest Republic and the fifth smallest country in the world. For the first time ever, San Marino showcased the countries unique attractions and heritage at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) and will offered insights about the country's participation at the upcoming Dubai Expo later this year where visitors can see a piece of San Marino in the UAE as a unique Fibula - a brooch in form of an eagle currently exhibited at the Louvre Abu Dhabi is the inspiration for the country's pavilion. The Republic of San Marino clings to Mount Titano, in the heart of the Italian peninsula and its liberty and independence has been recognised over centuries by Popes, potentates and even the emperor Napoleon. In 2008 Mount Titano, the historic centres of San Marino and Borgo Maggiore were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. |6|

ENRICHING FUTURE FLIGHT EXPERIENCES EMRE ISMAILOGLU General Manager, Dubai and Northern Emirates, Turkish Airlines

s the fastest growing airline flying to the highest number of destinations, Turkish Airlines continues to impress discerning travellers with new innovations, trends and comfort on the ground and inflight. We meet with Emre Ismailoglu, General Manager, Dubai And Northern Emirates, Turkish Airlines for his take on the travel industry during the pandemic and ways he and his team strive to offer travellers luxury laced safe flight experiences. HOW WOULD YOU EVALUATE COVID PRECAUTIONS LAST YEAR FOR TURKISH AIRLINES AND YOUR EXPECTATIONS THIS YEAR? Like other airlines around the globe, Turkish Airlines experienced similar challenges but we had positive demand from the GCC region. We have focused ourselves on making our pre-flight and on-board experience safe with award winning procedures for cleaning and sanitisation. We launched a new hygiene programme “TK Extra Care”, which highlights new protective hygiene measures, in collaboration with the global carrier’s ambassador Dr. Mehmet Oz, the producer and host of the world-renowned “The Dr. Oz Show.” We expect travel to improve this year as we intend to keep the level of safety in travel at the same momentum. We meticulously implement comprehensive precautions in order to continue providing a healthy and safe travel experience for our passengers. In fact, we achieved the Diamond status by APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) Health Safety powered by SimpliFlying for numerous criteria such as touch-free check-in process, implementation of social distancing, temperature measuring at entrances, Covid-19 test service at the airport, extra hygiene precautions, in-flight social distancing, hygiene expert cabin crews appointed in flights and hygiene kits offered to passengers.
WHAT MARKET TRENDS AND CHANGES HAVE YOU NOTICED IN 2021, AND HOW DO THEY IMPACT THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY? The year started on a positive note for many with hopes for the airline industry opening up . As an Airline we focus our energy on elements of travel that we can work and improve on during this period like enhancing the travel experience when the world opens up. We remind travellers of the airline’s hygiene protocols necessary for a safe flying experience and our team is enforcing a higher level of protection for every stage of the journey that goes above and beyond industry standards. We also keep our USPs energised such as providing a safe environment at our award-winning lounge, having an art exhibition at the Turkish Airlines Business Class Lounge to life the spirit of the travellers, using fleet with upgraded interiors, ease of booking, in-flight services etc. so that travellers get motivated to return to us.
ARE FLIGHTS WITHIN THE TURKISH AIRLINE’S EUROPEAN NETWORK FROM ISTANBUL STILL STRONG THIS YEAR? We feel that travellers today want to travel safely and connect with the cultural and human elements of new destinations and our hub gives them that opportunity within a new upgraded airport that takes all precautions for safe travel. We do well as we are not too far from the GCC countries and we have very positive feedbacks from our guests travelling with Turkish Airlines because of its strategic position at the crossroads of continents. People plan for short trips, often over the weekend so the opportunity for local economies to thrive remains. From our side, we make this possible with more flight options, greater connectivity and optimising on Istanbul's many attractions beautiful palaces, mosques, museums and retail havens. Turkish Airlines ranked first in Europe with an average of 684 daily flights from April 1 to April 14, by the European Organization for Air Navigation Safety (Eurocontrol). We are the busiest airline in the Eurocontrol Network and according to the data, Istanbul Airport is the top airport with 604 daily departures, while another airport in Istanbul, Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, ranked sixth with 345 daily flights.
TURKISH AIRLINES REMAINS A FAVOURITE WITH GCC TRAVELLERS AS A GREAT WAY TO CONNECT WITH SEVERAL COUNTRIES IN EUROPE. ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING SPECIAL FOR TRAVELLERS? Expectations for personalization and experiential travel that is safe has become a norm. Most sectors with a digital presence are tailoring products and services to match consumer preferences and tastes. We continue to distribute “Hygiene Kits,” containing a face mask, disinfectant and antiseptic tissue to guests, while “Hygiene Expert” cabin crews are appointed on flights to enforce all on-board hygiene and social distancing measures for the healthy travel of passengers. We assure our passengers about our extra guidelines for safe travel and comprehensive hygiene precautions due to pandemic and that we have been awarded the highest “Diamond” status by APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) Health Safety powered by SimpliFlying. We offer unlimited changing rights to ensure that our passengers enjoy their travel experience. Flexible Travel opportunities are offered until March 31, 2022 (inclusive), for tickets bought until December 31, 2021 (inclusive)
WHAT IS CURRENTLY POPULAR IN TURKEY THAT GCC TRAVELLERS CAN LOOK FORWARD TO IN TERMS OF NEW ROUTES? Istanbul is easily reachable from the Middle East but we find more demand now for our smaller cities as well such as Izmir, Bodrum and Antalya. We continue to work on the potential of new international and regional routes and strengthen our network. GCC travellers can look forward to our enhanced brand of luxury, rewarding experiences and a seamless airport experience that offers excellent retail and world class luxury lounge option at the new Istanbul Airport,

EXPERT OPINION
INVESTING ‘BIG’ IN WOMEN’S AMBITIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS Opinion by HE Sheikha Hind bint Majid Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Business Women Council
I
f International Women's Day is an occasion to celebrate women across the globe, it is for businesswomen and entrepreneurs, an opportunity to review their performance and design strategies which will keep pace with the developments of a period which is being considered as the fastest and most intense in modern history. Businesswomen are not only the guardians of their achievements and those of their female peers; they are responsible for taking them to a level reflective of real, qualitative partnerships. This should not just be justified by the women-to-men ratio, but by the impact their businesses have on the economy and on community, and whether or not their business mission and outcomes are in service of national interests. If we address the reality of Emirati women entrepreneurs in the UAE, there are many investments that can be made to achieve a greater output, in terms of both output and value. The first is government support for women's projects and capacity development programmes and the accompanying support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that make up 94 percent companies operating in the country with a contribution of 60 percent to the nation’s non-oil GDP. The second investment will be in economic diversification policies. There are emerging sectors that are still in the process of being formed and will be established soon, representing an opportunity for women to play leading roles role in shaping these sectors and define their trends from the get-go. These sectors include as emerging technologies, IT, financial engineering, modern agriculture, intermediate services that enable the public to access various products and services, as well as smart cities and digital transformation. Businesswomen’s strong entry and success in these emerging sectors will require expanding their specialisation capacities, and broadening their horizons beyond fashion, design, personal care products, handicrafts, heritage and traditional trade, to new unlimited areas. By entering emerging sectors, businesswomen will have a special and influential place in the economy of the future. The third is a significant investment and a prerequisite for achieving the first two. It entails boosting women’s general participation, and in business, within the UAE’s private sector. Doing so, will refine their skills, allow them to gain both local and global expertise from functioning in a market that is driven by innovation and competition. This will play a pivotal role in the setting women up for lifelong success, should they venture into entrepreneurship or business.
| 10 7 | | Trending Business Insights
As for personal inputs required by businesswomen, they need to forge more strategic and permanent partnerships with the private sector, which could be forged through cooperation with local and international companies to implement projects and create innovative products. The past two decades have witnessed mergers of many local and global entities and enterprises. These present women entrepreneurs both local and international market access. These are the key factors that stand out at this stage, and in the context of these factors, there is significant community and government support to women to ensure their socio-economic empowerment. Let us invest in enabling this support to reach fullest extent. Let 2021, as defined by International Women’s Day, be a year of choosing to challenge, a year of bigger investments into women's future ambitions and achievements, and to always set our goals in a way that shape an equitable society and a common future for all.
‘QUALITATIVE TRANSFORMATIONS ARE KEY, NOT MERE ADAPTATION TO CIRCUMSTANCES’ Opinion by Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah
T
he 2020 was not just the year of the pandemic or lockdowns. It was not all about disrupting businesses, large and small; or the global economy coming to a grinding halt. Our view and analysis of the past year goes far beyond that. 2020 was a year of unconventional challenges and unique experiences. It was a year in which we were physically grounded, but our minds roamed free, seeking out new opportunities and exploring new horizons to thrive and succeed. It was a year that left an indelible impact on our consciousness, leaving a trail of similar imprints on individuals and societies worldwide, reinforcing the commonality between all of mankind. In 2020, our aspirations and shared destinies defined us and united us all in ways we had never experienced before. This is Sharjah’s perspective on the year just gone by. This perspective is one that we gained right at the start of the emirate’s journey, when we chose to ignore terms such as “risky”, “impossible” or “time to take a step back”. Instead, over the decades, we transformed our desert environs into a fertile ground that nurtured ideas, innovations and solutions in science, arts, and economics. We laid the foundations of a stronger economy through the values of resilience and competitiveness, and by building on our capabilities and noble values. Our efforts have borne fruits, and today, Sharjah is a destination where you can embrace a diversity of strategic, productive options to fuel your growth. The fundamental challenges that arose due to the developments of the past year have prompted the Sharjah Department of Government Relations to delve deeper into the varied experiences of world nations in dealing with the lockdown and the pandemic - how they responded to the immediate needs of their citizens and what measures they have taken to ensure the continuation of education and businesses, amongst others. In return, we will share the good practices that have made our pandemic journey unique and the experiences we gained therefrom to benefit a larger number of people and nations worldwide. Sharjah, and the UAE, have been at the forefront in spearheading practical and efficient measures to ensure the continuity of essential services for the public, especially in the fields of education and healthcare, and in the provision of all other basic needs. However, the most important outcome of our experience in Sharjah, as we encountered an unexpected bend in the road, is the revelation that for the desired change to happen, it must not be only in the tools we use but also the way in which we approach the core of the matter. For instance, if we take the field of education, no change in its tools and
methods will have a substantial impact unless qualitative additions are made to the curricula and teaching materials. In 2020, the world was put to the test, and for the first time in recent living memory, we have seen how societies across the face of the earth underwent the same experiences at almost the same time and in a strikingly similar manner. For the first time ever, we observed how identical our wishes, dreams and aspirations are – underlining why we need to teach our children the truth of our shared humanity and destinies. The same applies to business. It is futile to talk of methods and tools for remote work, digital platforms, modern production mechanisms, or high functioning smart logistical networks if we do not first address their outcome and impact on society, or learn how we can sustain this vital energy and prepare societies to face unprecedented events in future. The time has come for change and qualitative core transformations, not an adaptation to new circumstances. The time has come to realise that the past experiences – as varied as it may be – were unified in a single framework during the pandemic. This is what we want to share and discuss with the rest of the world to prove that this crisis is just the start of better times.

SPOTLIGHT CHEP UNVEILS GLOBAL 2025 SUSTAINABILITY GOALS WITH THE AMBITION TO PIONEER REGENERATIVE SUPPLY CHAINS
C
HEP, one of the world’s most sustainable logistics businesses, and a pioneer of circular-economy principles, has unveiled its 2025 global Sustainability Goals, a roadmap for building regenerative supply chains that help repair damage to the planet. “We believe the time has come to transform how the world moves products to people,” said Megeshni Archary, Country General Manager at CHEP MENA. “We’ll be the company delivering the supply chains the world needs for the future.” Archary said that pioneering regenerative supply chains meant breaking the link between consumption and harm to the environment and society, in order to restore, replenish and create more value for society and the environment than businesses take out.
“These are global targets, and the transformation won’t be easy. It will only be made possible by all of us joining in and working together,” said Archary. “However, we have a long track record of achieving the unlikely when it comes to sustainability, and we’re confident we can do it again.” The CHEP brand is part of the Brambles group, a supply-chain logistics company operating in more than 60 countries. The new Sustainability targets are contained in the latest Brambles Sustainability Review 2020, which reflects progress over the past five years.
“To make this change, we need to evolve our sustainability model,” she said. “In the past we have focused on reducing the negative impacts of supply chains to make them ‘Better’. Going forward, we want to build regenerative supply chains that do more good than harm, and become ‘Positive’.” The new 2025 global sustainability targets set by CHEP’s parent company Brambles aim to restore nature, to tackle climate change and create shared social value. The company has committed to replenishing the resources it uses and creating more positive impacts beyond its communities, for the benefit of future generations. The CHEP sustainability strategy consists of Planet Positive, Business Positive and Communities Positive targets. Among global Planet Positive targets are undertakings not only to ensure 100% sustainable sourcing of CHEP timber indefinitely, which the company achieved as part of its 2020 goals, but to go beyond that and allow two trees to grow for every one used for pallets – adding millions of new trees by 2030. CHEP also has a committed to using renewable electricity across its global operations, and to becoming carbon neutral by 2025. Another of the company’s international goals is to ensure no product materials are sent to landfills and to introduce closed-loop products using 30% recycled or upcycled plastic waste. Worldwide Business Positive targets include doubling customer collaborations from 250 to 500, having at least 40% women in management roles and reducing business injury frequency rates by 25%. The CHEP Communities Positive targets across the global operation include collaborating with food banks to serve rescued food to 10 million people; and impacting one million people to become circular economy change makers.
| 12 | Trending Business Insights
The new CHEP regenerative supply chain vision is in line with the “Decade of Action” initiative of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). CHEP is consistently rated as one of the most sustainable businesses in the world. Among the recognition CHEP and Brambles have received is being rated the most sustainable international company by Barron’s magazine in 2020; earning an A rating in circular economy assessment by the Ellen MacArthur foundation, and appearing in the 96th percentile of the industry category in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Last month, the company was also included for the first time in the Corporate Knight’s prestigious Global 100 list of the world’s most sustainable corporations.
RAS AL KHAIMAH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WELCOMES ROSSIYA AIRLINES
R
as Al Khaimah International Airport (RAK Airport) has opened up a new service to Russia through a partnership with Rossiya Airlines, with the inaugural flight from the carrier arriving from the Russian city of Yekaterinburg - Russia’s fourth-largest city and the second-largest in Siberia - today (2nd April). The airport’s commencement of operations with the airline directly connects the UAE’s northernmost emirate to nine destinations in the world’s largest country. Touching down at 08:35 at RAK Airport - currently the UAE’s fastest growing aviation hub - Rossiya Airlines flight FV 5633 marked the start of a service that offers passengers weekly flights to and from major cities (in Russia, including its capital, Moscow and its second largest city and cultural centre, St. Petersburg. Other cities being serviced include Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Ufa and Rostov-on-Dov. “Ras Al Khaimah International Airport forms a major plank in Ras Al Khaimah’s growth plans by increasing its numbers of destinations and schedules through forging partnerships with new carriers and extending services with existing ones. Its new partnership with Rossiya Airlines represents a significant step forward in the airport’s phased expansion strategy, opening up as it does nine direct flights into and out of Russia,” said H.E. Engr. Salem Bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, and Board member of General Civil Aviation Authority and Ras Al Khaimah Executive Council. “This new service will be instrumental in bringing in a greater number of Russian visitors to experience the unique attractions of Ras Al Khaimah, with an increase in guests - an important part of the emirate’s diversification strategy. Russia is one of the UAE’s top source countries for tourism, where business between the two countries is also important for bi-lateral growth and development. The new direct connections between Ras Al Khaimah and nine industrial and cultural conurbations in Russia will help meet current tourist and business requirements in both the countries, as well as fuel up the new demand for capacity building,” His Excellency added. “With the start of Rossiya Airlines' commercial operations from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, we are connecting Ras Al Khaimah
to nine cities in Russia. This expands our reach to new destinations, offering our customers a broader selection to choose from when planning their travel through RAK Airport. The new routes development comes as an added attraction for travellers, since its completion of two years of opening visa-free travel policy between Russia and the UAE in February 2019," said Sanjay Khanna, Chief Executive Officer of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport. "With the coronavirus situation tightly being controlled in the UAE with stringent measures, active vaccination drive, and the easing of travel lockdown, we are expecting strong demand for this new service," he added. “RAK Airport continues to play a vital role in building trust in both business travel and tourism at this critical time. The steady and solid growth decisions being taken in the pandemic era are both extending operations and building passenger confidence. Our recent expansion phase has seen us increase flights throughout India and Kazakhstan - this new service to Russia further strengthens our position as one of the most significant UAE airports, flying passengers to numerous destinations globally and connecting people to the world's most notable places," he added. On 6th April, Rossiya Airlines’ first flight from Moscow to Ras Al Khaimah touches down at 7:05 at RAK Airport. On the same date, a flight from Ufa - the capital and largest city of the Republic of Bashkortostan - lands at 9:30, followed by flight Perm, a population centre that is located on the banks of the Kama River near the Ural Mountains, which lands at 19:20. Rossiya Airlines’ flight to RAK Airport from Kazan, the capital and largest city of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia, lands on 8th April at 12:05, followed on the same date by the first in the new schedule from St. Petersburg - known as the ‘Cultural Capital of Russia’ – which arrives at 10:30. Also on 8th April a flight from Samara, Russia’s eighth-largest city, lands at 14:05 at RAK Airport followed by a flight from the port city of Rostov-on-Don, which arrives at 21:10. Finally, as the last component in Rossiya Airlines new schedule to Ras Al Khaimah, 10th April sees a weekly flight arriving at RAK Airport at 12:45 from Nizhny Novgorod, the sixth-largest city in Russia and second-most populous on the Volga - the longest river in Europe.

SELF-DEVELOPMENT
MANAGING TO HOLD THE WORKFORCE SHIP STEADY IN CURRENT TIMES OF STRESS
R
Maggie Williams Executive Coach at Thriving Hives
eading a Q & A recently with Dr Nick Taylor, CEO and COFounder of Unmind he points out that the main challenge for organisations today is supporting the wellbeing of their workforce through this difficult time. Even though they still have their jobs, their work-life balance has been severely disrupted. People’s personal and professional lives have become blurred and the roles we play have increased. We now wear the hats of carer, teacher, community supporter. In years gone by, innovation and research and development has been top of the agenda for most forward thinking organisations, and now the focus is plainly on keeping a steady workforce. In the face of so much uncertainty, organisational and individual resilience is what’s required. Here are some strategies that Dr Tim advised regarding helping your organisation stay well: 1. Employees need the right care at the right time. Realise the importance of proactive and therefore preventative mental health support as opposed to operating reactively. 2. Take a whole person approach to mental health, - caring for not only the psychological health, but also the social and physical wellbeing, as our working lives and personal lives have become intertwined. | 14 7 | | Trending Business Insights
3. Utilise digital means to support particularly with our dispersed and remote working teams that we now operate, so the workforce can access good mental health support wherever they are and whenever they wish. In these times we need to call on some of our Emotional Intelligence competencies. The most useful ones that we need right now are: Emotional Literacy: Expressing ourselves practices our emotional literacy and when we express how we are feeling, research shows that the emotion can reduce by 50% thus reducing our anxiety. Recognising our Patterns: If we take time out to identify patterns in ourselves, we can then co-opt the right mechanisms or strategies to bypass patterns that are not working for us, and use our strengths to guide us through. Navigating our Emotions: this requires using our resilience tools. Never be afraid to ask for help when you feel anxious, or offer an ear when you see someone struggling. Empathy: using compassion for others always brings us a feeling of well-being that we have helped others. Utilising these competencies above will help you maintain your wellbeing during the coming year. Contact Maggie on maggie@thrivinghives.com
SETTING GOALS Nishrat Nazeen Founder and Curator of Aromas Fiji
T
here are many things in life that may not turn out the way we thought they would and yet we see a lot of merit in setting goals and embrace change when plans made do not materialise.
Having good intentions are not enough to change behaviour to achieve something - we have to take steps to make our intentions a reality by wanting to do new things and be different.
WHAT ARE GOALS? Goals are plans we make to achieve a desired result and often these plans relate to our career, home and inner wellbeing. It helps us take control over different aspects of our life and become more motivated to achieve a certain wish within a given timeframe.
SETTING DEADLINES Every goal has a time-bound deadline as it encourages you to focus on achieving it within that time. If you don’t reach your goal, revise your deadline for another time as this helps build resilience instead of giving up altogether. In life, it is normal to have unexpected events impact your plans but these set backs are not a reflection on your abilities.
UNREALISED GOALS Sometimes unrealized plans make you feel negative or worthless and you feel like giving up. Every person is worthy and accomplished goals are just a bonus. No matter what happens, do not see yourself a failure even if you do quit. Maybe the time was not right for a particular goal but you can always set the goal for another timeframe instead of giving up altogether.
QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN SETTING GOALS Some questions to motivate you to start setting goals is what you want to do, why you want to do it and when you hope to accomplish the task required to achieve your goal and steps you need to take to make this happen. It is as simple as that.
MAKE IT HAPPEN Be realistic when setting goals and start small. It is nice to be over optimistic and commit to massive changes that can be tough to follow through but I recommend doing it step by step. Setting tough goals can backfire and demotivate you from sticking to it - challenge yourself by making a weekly and monthly goal that will allow you to follow it through at different stages of the journey towards realising your final result.

MANAGEMENT
IN THE EYE OF THE STORM Now is the Time for Edgewalkers Edited By Susan Furness, Edgewalker Senior Associate
How will we respond? Will we rise to the occasion? Will conscious change agents find ways to facilitate transformation? Will individuals make the changes needed to make a difference? Will old era leaders reach their limitations and make way for enlightened leaders? Only time will tell. Here’s my thinking about each of the three global crises and the role for Edgewalkers in creating transformation.
THE PANDEMIC CRISIS There is something different about Covid-19 and about being in a pandemic in the age of the internet. Those of us interested in sensing the future could see it coming, from the news coming out of China and then Europe. This kind of information wasn’t available in the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, but it is available now. We stood in shock as leaders in some countries responded with denial. They ignored the facts and the science. People are continuing to die needlessly because of lack of preparedness and ineffective policies of some governments.
THE RACISM CRISIS
U
S-based Dr Judi Neal offers a heartfelt observation on the troubling realities world over, showing how the Edgewalkers can help. In 2006 she wrote the book Edgewalkers, people and organizations that take risks, build new bridges, and break new ground. In the Middle East, Edgewalkers International is represented by the well-known brand strategist Susan Furness. The original article was penned by Dr Neal for the Edgewalker Blog www.edgewalkers.org Humanity is experiencing a perfect storm of three global crises at once, all embedded in the global climate crisis. There is the crisis of a global pandemic, creating life and death choices. There is the racial crisis of oppression and brutality to people who look different from us. There is the crisis of leadership through fear and domination. Each of these crises appears to set us back on our evolutionary path. Things can seem darker and darker, and we find ourselves facing a perfect storm of challenges. | 16 | Trending Business Insights
Racism, oppression and brutality towards others who are “different” are not new phenomena. They are ‘designed’ to accumulate and hold onto power and privilege. These tactics come from our tribal fear of ‘the other’; a belief that some feel they are genetically superior to other races and they should therefore dominate society. The irony is science focussed on. the genetics of race has found no evidence that race exists as a biologic or genetic concept. It is a social construct. As a kid I read somewhere that “there will be peace on Earth when all the world is tea-colored”. Maya Angelou said, “We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
THE LEADERSHIP CRISIS The Course in Miracles (like many other spiritual texts) states that at every moment, we have a choice between love and fear. Authoritarian leaders choose to rule by fear; their motivation is to hold on to and increase their sense of power. The motivation of democratic and spiritual leaders is to empower others to take on leadership and to increase the common good. These Edgewalker leaders choose to lead with love. There are no perfect leaders, and no leader leads perfectly all the time. We are all human. People make mistakes. Still, it’s not difficult to sense whether someone is leading through fear and intimidation or through love and compassion. The three challenges – the pandemic crisis, the racism crisis, and the leadership crisis – requires more than we are used to providing. They are a stretch for humanity. They are high level assignments in the ‘spiritual graduate school’. As these individual crises come together in a perfect storm, our boat can feel battered. We may not survive. But our will to live is strong, and so is our will to evolve to higher
“The world is on edge. I'm on edge. I can't tell if we are on the edge of destruction or on the edge of creating a more loving world that works for all. I feel strongly that this is the time for Edgewalkers to help make a difference”. levels of potential and consciousness. We are on the edge of something uncharted. Edgewalkers, pioneers, and bridge builders are being called to step forth. Now is the Time for Edgewalkers The convergence of these three crises call for us to embrace and integrate Edgewalker qualities and skills as humanity hopes to navigate this perfect storm and to arrive on a peaceful shore in the near future.
EDGEWALKER QUALITIES 1. SELF-AWARENESS
Is essential to anyone wanting to live their purpose and make a difference. It consists of emotional and spiritual intelligence, and developed through journaling, meditation, contemplation, and being in nature. It is supported through therapy, spiritual direction and/or coaching. It’s important to take the time be aware of what you are thinking, feeling and needing, not gather the winds of other people’s agendas, especially in the midst of chaos.
2. PASSION
We are each here for a reason, with a unique calling and purpose. This is discovered by self-awareness and paying attention to what gives energy and what drains energy. The intensity of our responses are clues to what we should be doing. When we don’t know “how,” we trust the Universe will guide us into action if we take the first step.
3. INTEGRITY
Is about aligning our core values and our actions. What do we take a stand for? It takes self-awareness to realize what our core values are, and it takes passion and integrity to live them, even when it might cost us dearly.
4. VISION
If Edgewalkers are going to help build a new, healthier, more just and inclusive world, we must use reason and intuition to envision what’s possible. The clearer our vision of the world post-Covid-19, and postprotests, the more we can work together to create that vision. Most spiritual traditions have practices that help u to clarify vision, and we can use our rational minds to assess the patterns and trends of what seems to want to emerge at this time in history.Vision is essential to transformation. If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.
5. PLAYFULNESS
Transformative work is hard, demanding work, whether personal or organizational transformation, or shifting global consciousness. It’s very easy to get caught up in what needs to be done and to forget our playful, spontaneous and creative human nature. But this is essential if our transformational work is to be sustainable. It’s important to have fun and to lighten up. Laughter lights up the whole brain and actually makes us more intelligent.
EDGEWALKER SKILLS 1. SENSING THE FUTURE: Rather than ask “What’s wrong
and how can we fix it?” Edgewalkers ask “What wants to emerge?”; “What’s possible now that wasn’t possible before?”. In disruptive times, it no longer works to predict the future based on the past. Intuition, divination, synchronicities and other non-linear processes are far more useful in times of crisis than linear forecasting, trend analysis and mathematical modeling. The most powerful way to sense the future is to co-create it with each other and with divine guidance. As visionaries, we picture a world that works for all, a world where each person is supported in living their full potential including their intuitive and spiritual potential.
2. RISK-TAKING
While Edgewalkers are usually seen as risk-takers, they don’t see themselves that way because they have a strong inner knowing when taking certain actions. We aren’t talking about inappropriate risktaking that can harm others, but the risk of trusting you will be guided by something higher. What are you willing to risk and to let go of in order to make space for something more meaningful to emerge?
3. MANIFESTING
Edgewalkers are practical mystics, soulful facilitators and change agents. We move from visions, to plans, to shared actions for transformation. We attract others to our big ideas, and help build communities as we organize and inspire people. We know how to get things done with one foot in the mainstream (the source of the current power structure) and one foot in the margins of system (where innovation is born). We know who to contact, how the system works, and how to create what’s never been created before using spiritual skills such as intention, prayer and affirmations, and organizing skills such as communication, technology, networking. We are political savvy to either shift or replace systems or situations that are broken.
4. FOCUSING
In the midst of these three crises colliding, we must stay centered and focused on what we are to do and who we are called to be. We are the quiet eye of the storm. It is the time to remember our core values, our visions, and our strengths; why we are on the plan at this time. Contemplative practices help us remain centered, grounded and focused, as we carry the fruits into individual conversations, Zoom meetings, and even protests. More than anything, remember to breathe.
5. CONNECTING
Edgewalkers are natural connectors. During self-isolation, Edgewalkers are reaching out more than ever. We tend to belong to several different communities and find ways to link these communities and movement(s) begin. We are energized and inspired by these connections; they give us the courage to do what we came to do. In the words of Nelson Mandela: “There is no passion to be found in playing small in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living”.

CARING ABOUT INVESTMENTS AS AN ENTREPRENEUR - MORE FINANCIAL SECURITY TO YOUR ENTREPRENEURIAL EFFORTS
A
Dr Sanjay Tolani MD & CEO, Goodwill World
re you an aspiring entrepreneur or someone who recently started their business? These smart decisions can help you seize growth opportunities and unlock success. Business owners sometimes find themselves in situations where they’re not in complete control; instead, they feel controlled by their finances which they are holding. As a business owner of a publicly listed organization, I have realized how vital it is to care about your investments and what a game-changer that can be towards providing you with higher financial security. Having an exit plan is another vital move, one that is often overlooked. As someone who has been through the process, with a business that was acquired, I can truly see why it’s imperative to plan it to go your way. Smart investments and strategic financial decisions coupled with a few tweaks in processes and regular monitoring can make or save a business.

1. CHECK DIFFERENT LINES OF CREDIT AVAILABILITY This can prove to be arduous initially but indeed pays out when one’s business picks up. Talk to your local bank and look deep for government subsidies and grants that can help your business kickstart. Lines of credit can come from a variety of sources, and one must explore them before discarding them.
2. LOOK FOR PROJECT-BASED FUNDING ALONG WITH ANGEL INVESTORS AND VCS When you’re just starting, you never know where the money can come from, but you always need to be on the lookout for the same. Until one
5. GET CREDIT INSURANCE, SERIOUSLY Many business work on a credit basis regularly. While credit insurance is something businesspersons often feel they may not really need, it can turn out to be quite a saviour in their time of need. As a business owner, one should always ensure their credit so that they don’t have to worry about not getting paid.
6. DON’T TAKE ON EXPENSIVE LOANS While it is true that loans can be instrumental in helping a business, one needs to be careful with them and try to take calculated decisions. As a rule of thumb, I’d suggest you always ensure that interest on the loan you’re taking should not exceed 20% of your profit margin.
7. IF YOU HAVE A JOB AND ARE MOVING INTO A BUSINESS, HAVE YOU SAVED UP? Unless you have, don’t do it, your lifestyle is based on a consistent cash flow; loss of that cash flow is very stressful and can cause you to panic about the business not generating revenue fast enough. So, unless you have 18 months of your personal expenses available in liquid form, do not jump into a business full time.
8. KEY MAN INSURANCE IS CRUCIAL finds a long-term investor, they should always be open to project-based funding as that can really open up the investor pool in their initial days. Don’t be shy to put out a word about your business while you’re at it.
This may seem like something one can defer but really shouldn’t. This is going to be your exit plan in case of illness or death. You definitely need one because you certainly don’t want to, neither should you leave your family with debts and a burden that only you knew how to manage.
3. RESTRUCTURE EXPENSES EVERY QUARTER AND ENSURE PROPER BOOKKEEPING
9. DEVISE AN EXIT PLAN FROM THE BUSINESS AS IT GROWS
Initially, many entrepreneurs do not understand how vital cash flow is to a business. They think that burning cash fast will help them expand and gain market share. This may be partially true, but there’s a thin line between that and spending recklessly, the latter bearing detrimental implications.
All business owners are passionate and try to learn and know how to start a business, but they often forget to incorporate an exit strategy. It is vital to actively devise an exit plan as one’s business grows so that a win-win situation can be unlocked when the time arises. It is prudent to have a plan in place to leave on a high note.
4. REDUCE FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS AND FIXED COSTS WHEN NECESSARY
Most businesses struggle because of cash flow. That’s why an entrepreneur needs to appreciate how to shift from asset accumulation to income accumulation. It really pays to make the right strategies for more intelligent investment. That said, one should always have a plan B while actively trying not to let the need to exercise it arise. If you’re a new or small business owner, try these strategies for better cost management and to make way for smarter investments.
Overspending can incur irreversible damages – it is imperative to keep one’s costs, expenses, and financial obligations under check at all times. Sometimes, it may make a lot more sense to outsource something that may be eating more into your finances than it should.

LUSBEN COMPLETES THE REFIT OF “MORNING GLORY” 48 METER PERINI NAVI SAILING SUPERYACHT
L
ast week, Lusben concluded the refit of "Morning Glory", Perini Navi's 48-meter sailing superyacht, famous for having the Australian telecommunications magnate Rupert Murdoch as a previous owner.
The historic ketch, built in 1993 at the iconic Perini Navi shipyard in Viareggio, has been restored to her original splendor according to the wishes of her new Italian owner. Through the Forza 3 company in Milan, Lusben was chosen to carry out the ten-year refit of the yacht. The Lusben team was responsible for painting the hull, living areas and part of the aft cockpit, as well as replacing the generators and refurbishing almost half of the teak deck. The deck work in particular has allowed the shipyard’s specialized workers to highlight their experience and know-how; more than 40% of the teak was replaced with slats of variable length from 4.5 to 6 meters, a notoriously complex operation. The standard slats are typically much shorter at just 3 meters, and work of this type requires greater care and precision on sailing boats than on motor boats. The refit went on for a total of 5 months and involved almost 50 workers in total, including direct employees and external suppliers who worked in cooperation with the crew. The incredible team effort earned the expressed interest and satisfaction of the owner, who is now ready cruise the Mediterranean. “Morning Glory” is the first of 6 Perini Navi boats to be launched this season. The remaining 5 are currently undergoing refits at the Lusben facilities in Livorno and Viareggio, planned for delivery to their owners in the coming weeks. Despite the severe limitations imposed by the global pandemic, careful planning of activities has allowed Lusben to stay on shedule. Operations within the site's premises have progressed without delay; in fact, this year the turnaround has been faster than usual. At the Viareggio site alone, the number of boats peaked at 23, from 28 to 50 meters, occupying the work stations at sea and on land.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IS ALL ABOUT TRUST By: Edwin Weijdema, Global Technologist, Product Strategy, Veeam
A
s we become more reliant on technology to work, communicate, and be entertained, we are having to place our trust in it more than ever before. When I choose to work from home instead of travelling to the office, I am trusting that my laptop is fully operational, my Internet connection is stable, and that my ability to access the cloud-based applications I need for my work are available. Subconsciously, however, it is natural to worry more about your devices and connectivity breaking down when working from home than it is when you are in the office, with the IT team sat in the same building. This is because putting our faith in technology often requires putting confidence in the unknown. Ultimately, this is what trust is all about. Am I confident enough in someone or something that I can overcome the uncertainty of the outcome? If you do not trust, you will not take risks or take a step into the unknown, which means you will never change. So, as organisations continue with their Digital Transformation (DX) journeys, how can they ensure that a lack of trust towards technology does not prevent them from taking the necessary risks that come with any attempt to initiate change? In some ways, the process of trusting a piece of technology is very similar to trusting another human. We have a number of mechanisms to draw on. The first is our gut instinct. You often know whether or not you find someone trustworthy within 30 seconds of meeting them. This is also true of technology. Everything from the brand logo to our first interaction with the user interface adds to our perception of whether or not a device, website or communication is trustworthy or not. Various studies suggest that we are more likely to accept phone calls from numbers we recognise. We become suspicious about providing personal information about ourselves when registering for services online, when we would have no hesitation giving the same details to a bank clerk or mortgage advisor. While our instincts are indeed powerful attributes, they can sometimes let us down. In the real world, this might be believing one of our friends when the story they are telling us is really a joke or accidentally driving towards the office on a Sunday because our brains are on autopilot. In the digital sphere, the consequences of us trusting our instincts or not thinking properly can be clicking on phishing links, compromising personal security information, and accepting fake news as a truth. However, trust is not all about our gut reaction. Trust is earned over time through our own experiences, but also through other peoples’. When you can read up on experiences shared by those other people, who you never have met, you can reduce your uncertainty and posed risk. This way you can take a confident step towards the unknown. This can be referred to as distributed trust. We are more likely to trust a professional decorator with a job in our home if he/she has a high rating and visible track record online where maybe even examples of their work are displayed. This is an example of distributed trust, and the same concept also applies to technology. For example, the majority | 32 | Trending Business Insights
of people are not early adopters. These are the fastest people to get on board with the latest products available or use new technology concepts before they become mainstream. Technology assists us with reducing the uncertainty by giving access to a huge pile of information. This information is what you can call a trust enabler. The majority of technology users and IT teams prefer to wait and see. Whether it’s buying a new smartphone or migrating data to the public cloud, many of us seek endorsement from people who have tried it first – including our peers, other businesses, independent consultants, and total strangers on the other side of the world. There’s a reason the IT industry has a saying that no one gets fired for hiring certain brands. Those brands have built a visible track record through being reliable, consistent, and delivering a great customer experience. People trust that their products and services will do what they say they will, based on years of success, so perceive their risk of investment to be lower than working with a brand they are less familiar with. One of the major trust issues organisations have regarding new technology is whether or not it is secure. Will their data be safe and protected? They also want to know what happens when things go wrong. What happens if the technology fails? How do we get our services back online and quickly recover our data? So, with DX on the agenda of every business boardroom, CIOs and IT teams need to feel reassured that the technology providers they put their trust in are fit for purpose. According to the Veeam Data Protection Report 2021, over a quarter of business leaders in the Middle East (26% in UAE and 27% in Saudi Arabia) see cyber threats as a challenge to their DX initiatives in the next 12 months. This heightened awareness towards the impact of cybersecurity breaches on their bottom line will weigh heavily on the minds of organisations when choosing their DX partner. Furthermore, organisations are starting to understand that one of the most sure-fire ways for a business to lose trust is for their data to be compromised – whether it is stolen or simply lost. Our research indicates that 50% of business leaders in UAE and 45% in Saudi Arabia think downtime and data loss could negatively impact customer confidence. 40% of respondents in both countries fear damage to brand integrity. Over a third (34%) of UAE organizations think this could result in a loss of employee confidence and 35% of Saudi Arabian enterprises think this could result in reduced stock price. All this shows the inextricable link between data protection and trust. In terms of how successfully organisations in the Middle East are currently protecting data, 27% of all backup jobs and 24% of all restore jobs fail leaving 45% of data potentially unprotected. The issues of data protection and cybersecurity, therefore, pose a threat to DX. It is clear that humans’ relationship with technology, whether they are a customer, a business decision maker, or an employee, is all about trust. So, businesses must turn to trusted technology advisors who can help them ensure that their DX is built on solid foundations, with a data protection that is fit for purpose.
INTEGRATING THE LONGER-TERM HOME OFFICE INTO YOUR HYBRID WORKPLACE By: Guido Kragten, Category Lead for Cloud Platforms at Aruba, a Hewlett Packard company
F
inally, there is a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. As we get closer to the easing of lockdowns and social restrictions, many organizations are starting to look forward to welcoming employees and clients back to the office. But if you think that this is the end of working from home, think again. While working from home was initially a reactionary solution to COVID-19, now that it has demonstrated its value, it is here to stay. In fact, I believe we will see a renewed focus on the home office as it becomes an integral part of organizations’ long-term hybrid workplace strategies, and not just a stopgap solution. This new approach will require a further change in mindset and network infrastructure. If organizations wish to enable their employees to successfully work from home in the long-term without impact or risk, their remote foundations need to be as strong as possible – before they even start thinking about the physical office. Here are three things they must consider.
1. CONNECTIVITY AND ACCESS AT THE EDGE IS CRITICAL.
With the home office set to become a permanent place of work, organizations can no longer afford to ignore the limitations of home network solutions and consumer-grade network equipment, which can cause user experience problems that pose a very real threat to workforce productivity and business continuity. Indeed, as expectation levels rise and patience levels fall in the wake of the pandemic, employees at home must be able to connect and collaborate at the same level and access the same network functionality and applications as they do when in the office.
Automation and Zero Trust Security models are the only way to effectively streamline security operations. With real-time monitoring, IT teams will be able to detect, prevent, isolate and stop network breaches, ideally before they happen. Solutions like automatic device categorization based on network fingerprint and dynamic segmentation will provide the reliable, effortless control needed.
3. ORGANIZATIONS NEED TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE AT-HOME EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE.
The only way a hybrid workplace model can truly succeed is if the work-from-home experience is on par with the in-office experience.
To achieve this, organizations need to find ways to extend their infrastructure to the Edge of the network (where employees are now connecting). This will include looking for remote access solutions that can provide home workers with fast, reliable enterprise-level network performance. Plug-and-play options should also be considered, as they make installation effortless for employees – and in turn, IT teams.
This means that factors such as physical workspaces, comfort and ergonomics, and additional equipment like headsets and monitors – which have largely been left to employees to date – may now also be considered the employer’s responsibility under a hybrid workplace model.
2.NETWORK SECURITY WILL BE MORE COMPLEX THAN EVER.
The truth is that no one knows. As we saw in 2020, circumstances can change at any moment and organizations must be ready to respond accordingly. What happens if your employees grow tired of working from home?
The rapid transition to working from home throughout the pandemic brought with it significant complexities for network security – complexities that must now be addressed if employees are to be allowed to move freely between the office and home. IT teams no longer have complete control over which devices employees are using and the risks they are taking. This new explosion of unmanaged devices connecting regularly to the network at its Edge means that organizations are faced with a much larger attack surface, but lack a good view of it.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
With this in mind, flexible network technology such Remote Access Points offer a low-risk solution to support home workers at the Edge as needed. They offer easy provisioning and can be easily turned off and mailed back – providing control and visibility while ensuring a consistent, safe experience.

COMBATING CYBERCRIME WITH AI-DRIVEN SECURITY STRATEGIES By Derek Manky, Chief, Security Insights & Global Threat Alliances, FortiGuard Labs
A
to analyze information gathered from global threat intelligence networks. Training systems using all three ML learning modes— supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning—further increases accuracy over time.
AI-driven security technologies have the potential to anticipate attacks and counter them in real-time. Given that cyberattacks of the future are expected to occur in microseconds, the ability to react at machine speeds is crucial. The role of humans in defending against attacks will shift, focusing instead on ensuring that enough intelligence is fed into security systems to make them successful. The Need for AI-driven security and ML in the Modern Threat Landscape
A successful security-driven networking approach will be one that joins AI-driven security systems with modern threat intelligence and networking technologies to create a unified system. With this strategy, security becomes woven throughout the network in the form of segmentation, behavioral analytics, and zero-trust access. In addition, a distributed security system that replaces traditional sensors with learning nodes can both gather information and function as the first line of defense. In this way, it acts similarly to the human nervous system. Such a system is made possible by using stored knowledge supplemented with ML for threat detection and coarse-grain response.
s technology evolves, so too does cybercrime. The recent rise in remote work and the broadening of the attack surface that accompanied it have shown that cyber criminals are nothing if not resourceful and opportunistic. So, as bad actors advance their tool kits to include artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) strategies, those who defend against cyber attacks must do the same.
Rich media services, increasingly intelligent endpoint devices, semi-intelligent IoT devices, and the emergence of 5G capabilities have combined to create new edge networks and fundamentally change how data is shared. This ongoing shift in how people work and live creates a host of new security concerns to address. Not only are AI-driven technology and ML useful in protecting against attacks, but when the prospective attackers are using that same technology, it becomes a necessity. Bad actors are already using AI and ML to their advantage, building platforms to deliver malware at unprecedented speeds and scale. And because humans alone cannot keep up with the increasingly complex techniques deployed by cyber criminals, those in the threat detection business must use AI, ML, and automation to maintain an edge over these malicious actors.
PROACTIVE SECURITY USING AI AND ML
Staying ahead of cyber threats requires proactive strategies. As a general rule, it’s much easier to have proper defense measures in place before something happens rather than having to undo the damage after an attack. Organizations can transition to proactive security strategies by using AI/ML techniques and sandboxing

THE HUMAN ELEMENT IN MODERN CYBERSECURITY PRACTICES
The use of AI and ML in cybersecurity solutions, along with automation, will also lead to a shift in the role of cybersecurity professionals. Next-generation cybersecurity technologies enable integrated, enhanced user interfaces that leverage task automation. This makes it easier to onboard new junior staff and requires less senior-level staff oversight. Moreover, these technologies can effectively compensate for the cybersecurity skills gap and leave more meaningful and high-value work for the humans involved, thereby increasing staff retention.
AI-DRIVEN CYBERSECURITY IS THE FUTURE
Modern networks are increasingly complex, requiring inhuman levels of awareness and response to keep them safe. As cyber criminals deploy increasingly sophisticated attacks powered by AI and ML, cybersecurity professionals must use those same technologies in response. The threat landscape will continue to evolve, meaning AI-driven systems, trained and refined by humans with high-quality data, will grow more essential as a means to protect digital assets.

THE WAF IS DEAD (AND WE KNOW WHO KILLED IT) By TJ Gonen, Head of Cloud Security Products, Check Point
T
he past couple of decades has turned the Web Application Firewall (WAF) into a ubiquitous piece of security kit. Any organization with a web application (which includes most large businesses) has a WAF installed to protect their data and assets from being breached. Best practice for securing web applications has evolved to simply deploying a WAF in front of your app. The truth however is that today, with the modern application lifecycle empowering DevOps to release updates at a much higher frequency, the traditional WAF has not been able to keep up and maintaining a WAF has become both labor intensive and complex. Given this challenge, what should security professionals do? What will prevent web applications from becoming the front door into an organization’s infrastructure? Knowing that DevOps are going to keep spinning out new code, how can one figure out if their WAF is worth the maintenance or dead in the water? Let’s take a closer look at what it would take for your WAF to keep up with the speed of DevOps.
CONTEXT IS KING While network security was all about monitoring static networks which use the same protocols as one another, WAFs were designed to protect web applications that are distinctly different from one another. Every app is unique and each piece of code is different and nuanced with its own set of vulnerabilities. Even before the introduction of cloud storage and the breakneck DevOp’s speed, WAFs were recognized as being only a “mediocre” security solution. Inevitably, using a solution that sits in front of the app, rather than inline, means that contextual analysis is impossible. With no context to understand the content within the app that’s being interacted with, it’s impossible to automate the WAF’s evolution in parallel with the application’s evolution.
EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION Machine learning improvements only solved this conundrum to a degree. While sophisticated WAFs need “only” a month to silently sit and learn to create a baseline for the application, a month is a long time to leave an app unprotected. It’s inevitable that humans need to step in and help calibrate the WAF, and that’s when the maintenance becomes heavy duty. If the WAF needs time to learn and create a baseline every time the content or code changes, there is a lot of heavy lifting for the administrator to carry out in order to reduce alerts and create exceptions.
reality is that most WAFs aren’t in alert mode. It is too dangerous to allow them to over-block because the high volumes of alerts will create alert fatigue. Perhaps an administrator can do some minor fine tuning so sensitive parts of the app are covered with blocking rules, but the rest of the app will be protected by the WAF in alert mode using pattern matching and other crude techniques. This adds up to a security solution which can’t auto-deploy to protect from new logic attacks as the app evolves.
GO FAST OR GO HOME Native cloud computing is about agility. What took two weeks to create back in 2015 now takes mere seconds. By leveraging new micro services, you can dramatically change your app in a few minutes. In this new environment it is absurd to consider using a standard precloud application security solution that relies on learning or manual configurations. Each time a developer tweaks code and sends it out into the wild, it’s a unilateral move made without consultation with security personnel. If you’re using a WAF that relies on the assumption that ANYTHING in your environment is generic, your WAF is defunct and it’s time to call in the undertakers. WAF is dead, and DevOps killed it. Now’s the time to run a forensic analysis to figure out if your WAF has a pulse, or if you’re carrying a deadweight. Here are a few questions you should ask:
AUTOMATE OR DISINTEGRATE
• Is your WAF designed for the cloud? • Can your WAF determine legitimate traffic users versus malicious? • Can your WAF decipher BOTS and other OWASP attack vectors from legitimate inquiries?
With continuous delivery, it is just not possible for your WAF to protect a web application from logic attacks without human intervention. The
If you answered no to these questions, it is time for you to evaluate your cloud app security.

TRAVEL
As a Lifestyle, Travel and Motoring journalist, I spend a substantial amount of time on the road and recently, I decided to do my test drives with a purpose and with the aim of getting to a new or attraction around the different Emirates. Below are some of my favourite places in the different Emirates.
TOP FIVE PLACES TO VISIT IN THE UAE By Shereen Shabnam International Writer
AL KHOR KAYAK - AL RAFISAH DAM
During a recent test drive with the Nissan Xterra, I stopped at the Al Rafisah Dam in Khor Fakkan with my daughter and enjoyed kayaking amidst stunning hilly landscapes complete with a mini waterfall followed by spending time watching kids enjoying the playground and parents enjoying a cup of coffee at the cafe. The Al Khor Kayak is near Khor Fakkan and it costs only AED30/for a double kayak rental. There are also restrooms and a terrace with gorgeous views across the water and surrounding mountains.

IMG RESORTS Situated along Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, IMG Worlds of Adventure, the largest temperature controlled indoor themed entertainment destination in the world is another favourite spot for us to visit as it offers four epic adventure zones in one location. After a leisurely drive in the new Ford Explorer, it seemed like a perfect place to stop for a dose of adventure with Cartoon Network, MARVEL, IMG Boulevard and the Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure zones.
Here you can enjoy adrenaline-pumping roller coasters, thrill rides, attractions based on Cartoon Network characters, iconic MARVEL Super Heroes and dinosaurs. We loved the variety of themed retail stores, the various dining venues and the 12-screen state-of-the-art cinema.
YAS ISLAND We ventured to Yas Waterworld while I tested the Honda Odyssey as it is a car for the family but you can fit in two small families for family fun at a venue that comes complete with three award-winning theme parks and a mall. We were able to have some splashing excitement at Yas Waterworld that comes with an adventure playground and did a photoshoot with the kids. Then we moved on to speed and thrills at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi trying to fit in the many rides and attractions. This left us with not much time to meet the live characters at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi but thankfully we had another full day to do it all over again with a bit of retail therapy at the mall and exhilarating rides, live shows and sampling different cuisine in the restaurants on the Island.
SHEES PARK
We stopped at Shees Park on the way back to Dubai from Fujairah for a bit of desert nature and a coffee at the Gerard Cafe after a Nissan SUV experience. The recreational park is near the village of Shis in Khor Fakkan and features a 25-meter-high artificial waterfall as well as 506 meters of walkways across three mountain terraces connected by stone stairs leading to the main viewing platform. The viewing area on the top elevates is about 30 meters above the main park level. It includes a children's play area, 32 shaded seating areas for families, an outdoor theater and a barbecue area. We spent some time on the swings before heading back to Dubai.
AL AIN ZOO This is an old favourite. I headed to Al Ain in the new BMW 4 series which was a comfortable ride from Dubai to the Garden City. While I love driving up to Jebel Hafeet, the Al Ain Zoo is also a great family destination. Set within in a natural outdoor environment, the Al Ain Zoo has a large animal collection of over 4000 animals. Here you can see endangered species as well as the successful breeding of desert antelopes, gazelles and Arabian Oryx. You need to give yourself at least half a day to do justice to this venue.

fter a few delightful days in Prague, we took a train to Budapest to experience the city’s rich history, natural sites and their thermal springs. I expected my second visit to Budapest to be an adventure going into areas not discovered in my first trip but I was drawn once again into doing everything I did before and more. The Danube cruise is magical and the view of the city from Gellert Hill is a breathtaking experience as always but Budapest has so much more to offer. My first task was to find a hotel conveniently located in the centre of the city and the Radisson Blu Béke Hotel, Budapest fit the bill perfectly. My daughter was adamant about going into the House of Terrors and I reserved this for the last day so she could walk there from the hotel while I could shop during her tour. The hotel allows guests to experience history without sacrificing modern amenities as all rooms provide individual climate control and Free high-speed, wireless Internet, while Olive’s Restaurant and Zsolnay Café serve freshly prepared meals and desserts. We took a private tour of the city, divided into 2 parts by the Danube. | 42 | Trending Business Insights
Buda, the hilly area, lies west, while Pest lies to the east of the river and both have historic sites so the tour ensured we cover both sides depending on our interests with an English-speaking guide. The Castle Hill area is perfect as well to view the city and it houses several museums and galleries showcasing the history and culture of Hungary. It is a great place for taking pictures. Matthias Church, one of Budapest’s architectural masterpieces looks stunning and makes a perfect backdrop while the Fishermen’s Bastion, built on the site where the old fish market stood in the Middle Ages even attracted newly weds doing their wedding portraits on site. The Bastion’s walls, staircases and domed turrets offer picturesque views overlooking the Danube. Our guide took us to Gellert Hill, a 140-metre dolomite cliff which I feel has the best views of the city. You can also see the statue of St. Gellert and we looked at large blown up images of the city in the past and how it looks today. We passed the Chain Bridge and later saw it again in all its glory at
night during the river cruise at night. Another elegant bridge over the Danube is the Elisabeth Bridge, named after King Franz Josef I’s wife, Elisabeth. On the other side of the river, Pest has wonderful palaces, churches, monuments and squares, as well as being the commercial hub of the city. St. Stephen’s Basilica has many beautiful mosaics, paintings and sculptures, including one of St. Stephen wearing a halo. The Parliament Buildings looked stunning in the day and even more majestic at night. It is Budapest’s most famous building with the most beautiful exteriors and interiors. We loved the performance by the Palace guards that attracted bus loads of visitors to the Palace. Our next stop was the Heroes Monument area, a vast, paved square featuring a 36-metre column with a statue of Archangel Gabriel on top. At the base, there are several statues of Magyar chieftains and behind the column and on either side of it, there are two semi-circular colonnades, with groups of horsemen on top and statues of past Hungarian rulers within the square. The Margaret Island in the centre of the Danube is a recreational hub that has numerous recreational activities like biking, swimming or visiting a bathing complex, with thermal pools. If you prefer nature, then head to the City Park that has a large lake, which, in winter, is used for ice skating, a fairytale castle, the Transport Museum, the Szechenyi Baths with hot springs, an amusement park and Budapest Zoo.
On our return to the Radisson Blu Beke, we relaxed in the hotel Café that boasts the best pastries. The hotel also offers an indoor pool, a business centre with secretarial services and eight flexible meeting rooms. I loved the one with paintings all over the wall. Budapest indeed caters to all tastes; there is a thriving theatre culture, classical concerts, jazz, outdoor activities, opera, much to my daughter’s delight and great food options. I need to get back there with more time to soak in the mineral water that comes from various thermal springs surrounding the city.

ENTICING THAILAND The land of beautiful beaches, great viewpoints, temples, nightlife and countless excursions By Shereen Shabnam International Writer

W
hile Thailand is popular as a holiday destination to many, it was more of a wedding destination for me during my first visit when I tied the knot in Hat Yai and felt grateful for the many memorable experiences as we headed to Krabi soon after for some sand, sea and beach life. The Krabi region is one of the most beautiful areas in southern Thailand. Our trip was full of countless surprises, from meeting friendly people who married us, to becoming food-obsessed with the countless choice of food all around while losing count of the country's many glittering temples and the lazy days spent on tropical beaches. Visiting Thailand a number of times since that first trip, we came across bustling cities and tropical forests dramatically different from the turquoise sea we initially went in search of. The foodie experience of course is the best in Nakhon Sawan where seafood is in abundance. We also hosted an exhibition in Bangkok not long ago. As the capital of Thailand, Bangkok can be overwhelming the first time but there is so much to do that you wish you had more time. The best option is to plan ahead what you would like to experience as there is so much on offer from food experiences, cultural sites, river tours and the best shopping if you like retail therapy. If you like monuments of the past, I suggest heading to the historic town of Sukhothai and the UNESCO World Heritage site and discover lost history and ancient treasures. Another popular destination is Chiang Mai that offers the best of nature in from of jungle treks, hot springs, waterfalls, old town visits, festivals and vibrant markets. No visit to Thailand is complete without going to Phuket which is Thailand’s largest island and a popular holiday destination. It has a great nightlife, plenty of restaurants and good base to do island hopping across to Koh Phi Phi, Koh Yao Yai and Kon Bon,
My husband is a big fan of Koh Samui as well. This is the third largest tropical island in Thailand with beautiful beaches and it had less tourists in the past when he ventured there a number of times. Today, Koh Samui is full of life and caters to tourists looking for an idyllic island holiday with various water activities but that old island charm still remains. Synonymous with the exceptional service and authentic hospitality, Thailand has always offered us an experience that will remains memorable forever. For me, being married there at short notice with the hospitable locals is one memory I will always cherish.

FOLLOW THESE 6 SIMPLE TIPS TO SPRUCE YOUR HOME FOR SPRING
A
fter spending so much time at home over the past year, people redecorating their homes has never been so popular.
With the official first day of Spring (Monday 21st March) just around the corner, now may be the time to spruce up your home in time for spring and summer. Colour can have a huge impact on the way you feel, and by incorporating certain colour accessories, you can instantly create a positive environment for you and the family as we head into the summer months. Apartment rental brand Essential Living has teamed up with colour expert Momtaz Begum-Hossain on six simple tips for choosing the right colour schemes, plants and popular accessories for spring 2021.
TIP 1: GO GREEN
Momtaz believes green is an underrated colour. People who sleep in green rooms get an average of seven hours and 30 minutes of sleep per night, allowing them to wake up with great positive energy. “When you’re going through periods of change, work-related stress, personal anxiety, or relationship strains, green can offer comfort. Whether it’s through plant life, a rug, or bedding, will promote peacefulness, so if you’re agitated when you enter it, you’ll start to feel calm” By introducing plant life into a room, such as trailing ivy which also purifies the air, you will instantly feel bring the outdoors in and feel

more energised for the day ahead. Experts love clear glass frames from Silver and Birch, containing beautiful freshly grown cow parsley they are the perfect asset to any wall.
Flowers will never go out of style, as not only do they increase oxygen levels but they add instant elegance to any room. The great thing about succulents is that they require hardly any TLC, so they come guilt-free. Etsy sell a variety of succulent plants that can be delivered straight to your door.
TIP 5: ONLY CERTAIN SHADES OF RED
Whilst many see the colour red to promote love, it can in fact ignite rage between couples- and that’s the last thing you need. Red is an overly stimulating colour, so in a bedroom, it can make you alert rather than relaxed and ready for a good night’s kip. However, there are many shades of red our experts recommend. “Bold scarlet reds are the most dominating, a darker maroon is less intense, and a pinker cherry red is a mood-boosting shade that can promote love and laughter – two things that every room needs. Adding red accents in the finer details like in an ornament or a vase of roses can warm up a room making it feel welcoming”.
TIP 2: AVOID BROWN- EXCEPTION OF ACCESSORIES
Accessories such as this Crimson Red Egret Lacquer Floor Vase would be the ideal way to incorporate red into your home without causing any interior disasters.
Generally, experts say a brown focused room is a no-go this yearparticularly for spring. Unless you have a desire to cocoon yourself in a retro, 1970’s themed room, avoid brown. It instantly darkens a room, making it feel dreary and uninspiring. “Accents of brown in furniture or interiors accessories like a picture frame are fine, but a brown wall? Avoid at all costs.” If you are working at home for the foreseeable, brown is a great colour for the office environment, as it is a formal, academic colour that suits professionalism. Brown furniture and lampshades look smart against a light wall as well as office accessories like this Osco Faux Leather Desk Organiser.
TIP 3: BLUE PROMOTES RELAXATION
You are finally about to feel some peace and quiet, and blue is a calming colour that promotes relaxation- not to mention it is one of the trending colours for 2021. Blue in your bedroom is particularly recommended, promoting sleep your brain is receptive to the colour blue. As part of a new bedroom study, experts recommend a ‘tranquil paradise’ colour palette, featuring soft, harmonious shades for ultimate relaxation. Momtaz says, “Create a soothing tranquil paradise in your bedroom by opting for a colour palette that features soft shades such as fresh blues, earthy greens, and muted grey tones. Blue promotes serenity and just like the ocean waves, can calm your mind.” You can also incorporate some of this year’s most popular accessories, including this 100% glass vase is available at Next. Costing just £16, there’s a range of other vases to choose from the Next Home collection.
TIP 4: CREATE YOUR OWN URBAN JUNGLE
Overwhelmed? Don’t worry if you don’t want to match your softfurnishings to your wallpaper and your sofa to your coffee maker. Houseplants are a great way t really freshen up the appearance of a plain space, and if you’re not so good at keeping houseplants alive, succulents are really having a moment right now.
TIP 6: PLAY AROUND WITH PASTELS
Pastel shades are versatile, full of personality, and can inject colour into an interior even on the greyest and gloomiest of days. Pastels are instantly uplifting due to their white undertone and subtle colour pigment. “Together, white, grey, and blue will create a calm sanctuary. Use these colours on walls, bedding, and soft furnishings. If you find the palette too subtle, introduce a fourth colour; either pastel pink, mint, or lilac. Pastels will maintain the tranquil equilibrium while adding charm.” Incorporating pastel curtains will instantly make your space feel bright and soothing. Experts recommend these Nova Blush Blackout Eyelet Curtains, crafted in a soft and subtle blush pink and styled with a sumptuously smooth faux silk finish.

s each trend comes and goes, Marble seems to maintain its place in the forefront of the interior design sector. From the ground up, marble textures can be used in the design structures from walls to floors to ceilings, however, with the home furnishings from Chattels & More, it’s possible to add delicate accents and statement pieces to incorporate marble into any room without overwhelming it. So why is marble still popular today? As a material that has been associated with luxury and wealth since the Imperial Roman period, Marble is highly durable and able to withstand extreme heat. As one of the lowest maintenance materials, it is ideal to be used as a heavy-use
piece of furniture such as the dining table. Chattels & More’s extensive dining and table collections has a range of marble tables that are easy to clean and maintain. Tables with a marble finish in can add a stunning statement to any dining space. As well as statement pieces, smaller marble home decorations can give a great touch to any room. ts holiday time for Universities which means our noses are no longer stuck to computers and staycations are becoming more and more the order of the day. We recently had the chance to experience classic Swiss hospitality at Revier Hotel which has a warm yet vibrant Swiss ambience and enigmatic staff ready to please every whim. The hotel offers three incredible choices of rooms namely My Pad, Fam Pad, and Revier Suite fully equipped to accommodate travellers of all kinds. The leading edge and functional design with tech-enabled features makes it a perfect and convenient choice; from contactless check-in & check-out to a keyless room access system. I stayed with my friend who loves Korean shows so we mapped our computer to the rooms TV and indulged in our favourite shows. We loved the lobby area as it transports you to the Swiss Alps even though you are still in Dubai. We experienced impeccably Swiss feel in the lobby which has interiors featuring Ski-blades, life-like cow sculptures and the contemporary Swiss dining options; every inch of Revier has a touch of Swiss ethos to it. We had dinner at the Alphorn restaurant and my favourite was the Swiss-style Cheese Fondue feast with gooey melted cheese and condiments similar to what I have had in the Swiss mountains before. We enjoyed the oven made cheesy pizzas and delicious pastas but highlight was of course the dessert. As its summer, the ice cream scoops come in threes and hence every dessert lovers delight. The rooms offer guests all the amenities needed and we made teas and coffees in the room. If you need two rooms for a family, the best option is a XL Revier Suite so you share a private entrance and yet a com space to get together. The XL Revier Suite has a lounge area that is perfect for TV time and has a small table to work from.
Revier Hotel is located in one of the newest locations in Business Bay and is an edgy, cozy, tech-savvy and design-led space offering nothing but the best of service and comfort. It has authentic Swiss hospitality with contemporary, state-of-of-the-art features and the best cheese fondue in my opinion.

TOCKR C-47 “Dark Spirit” Aviation runs in the Ivey family’s veins, a theme that also influences every Tockr watch design. Tockr Founder Austin Ivey became a third-generation pilot and founded the Tockr brand to honor the legacy of his grandfather, a World War II era C-47 combat pilot.
PARMIGIANI FLEURIER
Tonda Hijri Perpetual Calendar
One and a half Gregorian years after launching the Tonda Hijri Perpetual Calendar, Parmigiani Fleurier revisits its groundbreaking world premiere in a limited series of three gem-set models limited to 10 pieces only. In line with the intention of the original Tonda Hijri Perpetual Calendar to respect the Muslim community’s adherence to dress codes that counsel men against wearing gold ornaments, the three new Tonda Hijri Perpetual Calendar models are housed in platinum cases set either with diamonds, rubies or emeralds. Perpetual calendars are sophisticated watch mechanisms that can keep track of various calendrical irregularities such as the fluctuating number of days in a month, displaying the date accurately despite these irregularities.
Now the American watch brand debuts a striking new skeletonized design with the new 10-piece C-47 Skeleton “Dark Spirit” series with a black PVD treatment, offering a dramatic counterpoint to its 5N rose gold coated movement and gold ring. The dial side offers a clear reading of the hours, minutes, and central seconds, while the reverse presents another view of the automatic winding caliber STP 6-15 H6 and custom skeletonized rotor. This skeletonized timepiece is water-resistant up to 3 ATM and a hearty 44-hour power reserve. Dark Spirit comes with two strap options - a black calfskin strap and an extra black silicon band.

PERFORMANCE & ELEGANCE The all-new BMW 2 Series Coupé
INTERIOR By Shereen Shabnam International Writer
T
he first-ever BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé brings the four-door coupé concept that has already enjoyed success in higher vehicle classes into the premium compact segment for the first time. It injects a fresh dose of individuality, aesthetic appeal and emotional engagement, backed up by innovative operation and connectivity, everyday usability and the dynamic capability for which BMW is renowned. We were impressed with the powerful engine and the sophisticated chassis technology.
EXTERIOR
The standout features include a dynamically stretched silhouette, four frameless side windows and rear lights extending into the center of the rear end, merging into a high-gloss black band that runs up to and encircles the centrally located BMW badge. The new BMW 2 Series Coupé embodies sporting prowess in a particularly concentrated form, with a vehicle concept focused squarely on dynamic excellence and an athletic sculptured design with long bonnet and an eye-catching front. The BMW kidney grille is horizontal in design and features vertically arranged air flaps at its heart in place of the classical bars. These open electrically when the engine has an increased need for cooling air. Prominently flared wheel arches and a muscular power dome at the centre of the bonnet give a clear indication of the 2 Series Coupé’s dynamic driving characteristics. It has a fresh, youthful and extrovert aura following the brand’s new design language and offers pure driving pleasure.
The new BMW 2 Series Coupé also offers a premium cabin ambience and is more connected and confident with cutting-edge innovations and a much wider range of driver assistance systems. The driver-focused cockpit design and modern control panel on the centre console accentuate the sporting aura inside the new BMW 2 Series Coupé. The high centre console and the smoothly blending surface treatment of the instrument panel and door panels create a cocooning feel around the driver and front passenger. We loved the three-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting and a Harman Kardon surround sound system that kept us entertained during drives.
DRIVE TECHNOLOGY
The new BMW 2 Series offers agile and precisely controllable handling in different situations. We were impressed with the steering precision and cornering dynamics and felt it was better than the predecessor model. The optimised ride comfort and acoustics enhance the car’s abilities both in everyday driving and over long-distance journeys. With a six-cylinder in-line engine crowning its engine line-up, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé reinforces its claim to unsurpassed sporting prowess in the premium compact segment. All the engines team up as standard with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
VERDICT
We loved both the exterior and interior elements but what made our journey more comfortable was the drive assist features such as the front-collision warning, Speed Limit Info, Lane Departure Warning and Cruise Control with brake function. The cloud-based navigation was fast with precise calculation of routes and arrival times, real- time traffic data updates at short intervals and the ability to enter any word when searching for destinations. This made a difference in the drive experience.

TIMELESS ELEGANCE AND LEADING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY
Ferrari Roma By Shereen Shabnam International Writer
I
had the luxury of driving the new Ferrari Roma, the latest coupé from Maranello on a few different occasions, turning heads with the car's timeless and sublimely refined design. The Italian styling is a contemporary reinterpretation of the carefree lifestyle of 1950s and ‘60s Rome, from which it takes its evocative name, Roma. With all the power and agility required to guarantee a unique driving experience, I started my first journey from Al Wathba into Abu Dhabi City, then from Abu Dhabi to Dubai followed by a few days around Dubai a few weeks later. First impression was positive as I like comfort above everything else when I drive and the Roma is one of the most comfortable sports car I have driven recently and having space for the many accessories I need for my work, home, golfing and my child's diving or horse riding classes as an added plus. Stylistically, the Ferrari Roma is characterised by clean and symbiotic forms and it certainly turned heads while driving in both cities. Its beautifully harmonious proportions and modern design language underlines its authentic, refined styling while sleek lines retain the sporty vocation shared by all Ferraris. To guarantee best-in-class performance whilst still retaining the stylistic purity of its bloodline, Ferrari’s engineers developed several leadingedge technologies, most notably a mobile rear spoiler integrated into | 66 | Trending Business Insights
the rear screen designed to retain the car’s formal elegance when retracted and guarantee the downforce essential for the Ferrari Roma’s extraordinary performance by automatically deploying at high speeds. The Prancing Horse’s new 2+ coupé sports a V8 turbo engine that punches out 620 cv at 7,500 rpm, making it the most powerful in its segment. The car’s new 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox is more compact, shifts are faster and smoother making the car even more responsive on the open road, but also especially comfortable in town and during stop & start driving situations. It was refreshing driving a Ferrari and being able to get over speed bumps comfortably. The Ferrari Styling Centre focussed on Roma’s exterior with clean, harmonious proportions and clothed it in long, ultra-sleek lines that sweep back from the front bonnet, highlighting the spare silhouette of the flanks and the compact, set-back fastback cabin volume. For the Ferrari Roma’s cabin, the designers developed a new formal approach that involved the creation of two separate cells, one each for driver and passenger. The crafting of the interior features a16” digital instrument cluster providing all the necessary information, while the central display with an 8.4” vertical screen and a new passenger display are exceptionally intuitive and user-friendly. The new Ferrari key with “Comfort Access” function allows the driver to open the car by touching a button next to the new flush handle in the door while the Matrix LED headlights and optional Ferrari advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive Cruise Control, make day-to-day and longer journeys a very relaxing experience.

The Forward Collision-avoidance Assist operates warns the driver visually and audibly. Then, it controls the brakes according to the collision danger stage, and finally applies maximum braking force to avoid a collision or minimise damage if a collision is unavoidable.

FINAL WORD
INSPIRE AS YOU EMPOWER By Shereen Shabnam International Writer
Thankfully we have come across leaders who gave everyone hope by inspiring and empowering them to mitigate these challenges, often by leveraging technology. We have seen the retail industry in particular thriving by embracing new technology trends. These trends have been fascinating and now provide an integrated user experience for consumers, patients who cannot leave home and food kitchens that are not able to serve food in public. This has led to an evolving start up community focusing on making life easy.
T
here is no greatness where there is no simplicity, goodness and truth - Leo Tolstoy
For any business to prosper, I strongly feel that the three principles of simplicity, goodness and truth is crucial. Sometimes we get so caught up with the mundane things in life that we forget to pay attention to the simple things in life that matter and we tend to ignore technologies that can make our life so much easier. (This is my immediate thought after my eufy Robovac cleaned my living room at the push of a button) The last few years have been challenging and countries have faced upheavals in different areas that has affected them economically, politically and environmentally. It was difficult enough having to deal with the pandemic simultaneously and while governments tried implementing structural reforms to deal with one problem at a time, it seemed that as one fire was put out, another one started.

Before the pandemic, I would not have thought of shopping online for instance or have my doctor deliver my prescription to the house but these simple conveniences certainly has made me feel good and has provided new jobs to many who otherwise would have been without an income. These start up technology companies continue to inspire me and I admire how many people they have empowered by coming up with new services that make our day-to-day life easy. My favourite App (Apart from my favourite cake delivery) is the new Odiggo App that does everything I need done for my car with the touch of a button. As a petrol head, my car inevitably has more spa days in a few months than I have in a year so having my car washed, serviced and repaired with a service provider of my choice at a competitive price without leaving my house is empowering. Entrepreneurs are now harnessing the power of technology to develop new services, collect useful data and using insights, they offer fresh ideas and services to consumers. Leveraging technology gives accurate and truthful data and as Leo Tolstoy said, we can do so much more great things with simplicity, goodness and truth.
