Deck Painting Preparation When re-coating a previously painted deck you need to tidy things up a bit. Flake off loose chippings with a Scraper and sand until the loose flakes are no longer visible.

De-greasing For a longer lasting finish it is essential to remove dirt, dust and grease from the deck. Preclean De-greaser BP023

A Preclean De-greaser is best, clean and allow to dry for best results.

Primer If you are painting on to unpainted gelcoat apply Undercoat Primer to ensure the deck paint adheres correctly. Deck paint will not adhere to bare gelcoat for long when stepped on!

Deck Painting Masking Tape

Order the Solutions

Use Masking Tape on the edges for a clean finish. Remember to use new masking tape with every coat as it can be difficult to remove it if it is left on for too long.

Deck Paint Choose your colour and apply two coats. Deck paint includes anti-slip granules for grip. Anti-slip Deck Paint BP080A

If changing colour you may need more coats to hide the previous coat.
