FUTURE RETAIL EXPERIENCE POST COVID-19 | THESIS PART 1
VENDING RETAIL HUB post covid-19
CHERAS VELODROME, KUALA LUMPUR [2020]
The project is a hypothetical experiment of what future retail could be after the Covid-19 pandemic based on the speculation of future. The world has changed dramatically over the first three months of 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic impacting almost every aspect of our lives. These changes have been clearly evident in the world’s digital behaviours too, especially as billions of people turn to connected devices to help them cope with life and work under lockdown.
To reimagine the future of retail focus on sustainability, resiliency, well-being and at the same time allowing social interaction among the community. People have been shown more willingness to purchase items online now. Changes in behaviour such as needing to work from home or exploring new type of purchasing method while staying at home also present opportunities for new retail landscape. It is believe that the new norm will remains after the pandemic is over.
